Steak & Lobster
Tender Beef Medallions; Bordelaise Sauce, Steamed Lobster Tail
The service was slow and the drinks were watered down and at $13 per drink there is no reason for that. The food was very good which saved the nigjt
The service was completely terrible. Food was actually pretty good, but the lack of good or even average service didn’t make a difference. Unfortunately we will probably not go back. A table seated after us had their bread, drinks, and entrees before we were even given our drinks which we ordered before they sat down. It was very disappointing and lax. Thumbs down.
The evening got off to a bad start - it took 45 minutes to get our pre-meal cocktails. We were assured they would come before the food so that didn't bode well. We hadn't finished them when our starters arrived.
However, the calamari was beautifully cooked, the baked potato soup very tasty (though very filling). For our main, I had cheese-encrusted flounder, nice flavor with a beautiful crisp coating, and the shrimp were good - too much mash and too many beans. My husband had the crab cakes which he said were very good. The wines we chose were absolutely fine at a reasonable price.
For dessert, he had the cheesecake ("how is the cheesecake?" "It's a cheesecake") I had the brownie and ice cream - I had been worried after two filling courses that it would be too heavy but it was absolutely perfect - hot and chocolatey and gooey.
We felt that everything was consistently good - it is not an outstanding place but neither are the prices over the top. Staff were friendly (and we had several apologies for the fact that the cocktails took so long).
I was really disappointed in the quality and flavor of my steak. I did get the Pittsburgh Restaurant week special and maybe that was why
I love this place. They always have a mixture of foods and drinks for everyone.
Quality of food was of highest quality. Presentation was attractive. Seasoning was on target. Wonderful meal
Great meal as always! Gotta love the shrimp kisses!!
Very nice and relaxing
Horrible food. It looked like it just came out of a bag, microwaved and then thrown on the plate. Never again
Great food and great waiter. The decoration is surprisingly bland. Pricey, but that's to be expected.
During Covid ,it was a great place to just enjoy good food and service.
food and service was fantastic, restaurant was beautiful.
Birthday dinner for BestFriend
McCormick & Schmick has a steak and lobster special on Thursdays. The meal was very good and the service was excellent. We will go back.
Woody clubby decor, large menu (very good fried shrimp,) pleasant service, lovely lunch.
Our server was outstanding: attentive and knowledgeable of the menu.
Hostess was very nice, professionally dressed and friendly. The Food was very good, hot and tasty, really liked the mashed potato sides. Premeal Bread was also very good. Server was very quiet, did not introduce himself and did not come around inquire how our meals were.
Very quiet. As always, our meal was great. Salad, shrimp and mousse pie. Outstanding service. Parking is very close, only a half block from the restaurant.
It was my first time at the restaurant and we came there for our anniversary. The service, food and experience was excellent. Would definitely recommend the restaurant and come back again.
It was my daughter Birthday, we had 12 people. The service was great and so was the food. Nothing went wrong and we all enjoyed everything. Great job!
Arriving on time for our confirmed reservation, we were told that no tables were available "for at least twenty minutes" and we were offered self-seating in the bar which was crowded with little chance for distancing. Once we found a table that wasn't on top of others it took quite a while for the clearly overwhelmed waitstaff to notice us. When a waiter finally arrived, wearing his mask down on his chin so that his nose was exposed, all he was interested in were drink orders; which he took and promptly disappeared. When the drinks did arrive we prevailed upon the server to take our order.
A runner brought us our appetizer after a not-unreasonable wait but neglected to include any silverware, napkins or any other table set-up. The coup-de-grace came after we noticed that all the other tables around us had been served despite the fact that we ordered well before they did. We learned later upon hearing the waiter comment while laughing with the next table "Well, at least you got to taste our stuffed flounder", a runner had delivered our food to the wrong table who treated it as an opportunity for a tasting menu experience.
We were served eventually with more of a shrug than an apology, and the food was good; but certainly not worth the aggravation.
If you want to eat from this menu, take it to go.
The wait staff was incredible. Knew the menu well and helped guide us through the selections. They came back often to check on us and see if we needed anything. They were even quick to add a la cart items we wanted as we received our meal. Everyone's meal was amazing from the beef to the seafood that was ordered. We had one steak ordered well done, and it came on the medium to medium well side. We completely understood the challenges in preparing it that way. The staff did a great job to try and quickly remedy the issue.
We’ve dined at McCormick & Schmick’s a number of times in different cities and it has always been one of our favorite places. The food has been consistently excellent, the service good and a great overall night out. That’s why this time was so disappointing. Three of the four people in our party ordered the filet mignon and the other had the NY strip. None of the steaks were very flavorful and were definitely a little on the tougher side. They weren’t overcooked, just not great quality of meat. The asparagus was undercooked and the potatoes over garlicky. The different appetizers were excellent and the best part of the meal. We all had 3 rounds of cocktails and the bill with tip was over $450. We don’t mind spending money on a good dinner but this definitely wasn’t worth it. First time we ever had a bad meal at an M&S.
Our wedding anniversary
It was a nice dinner, was able to sit outside.
Many restaurants are cutting corners in this current environment. Not McCormick and Schmidt. The food and service were outstanding
Great food, friendly service. Steaks are excellent.
Ate outside for a 4 person business meal. Waitress (she was also bartender) did an excellent job with fast, friendly, service. Very relaxed meal with apps, main courses and dessert - all very good.
Would highly recommend!
Courtney the bartender and server was great, as were her Manhattan cocktails. My son loved his steak; I enjoyed the Mahi Mahi, very tasty. Side dishes just average, attempt at creamed spinach failed. Nice ambiance.
Server was great. Very friendly and attentive. All Covid procedures were followed to the T
Loved the atmosphere and our server was extremely attentive.
Late reservation so our over cooked steaks and cold king crab legs were not able to be prepared a second time.
Disappointing for the cost and what we heard about the location.
Fantastic evening at McCormick & Schmick’s this past weekend. We had one of the best waiters we’ve had in a long time! Food was delicious and cocktails were excellent. We’ll be back!
Our server was excellent. As for the food, the filet was just "good", not as I would expect for the price and style of restaurant. And, too few sides from which to choose.
The menu was very limited. The burger that I ordered and asked to be cooked medium had the exterior completely burned and charred and that was all you could taste. It was not edible. The fries were way over salted. The Salmon was also way overcooked. And to make matters worse, the people sitting next to us had 2year old who cried the entire time. It was very disappointing.
The pace of service was a bit slow, but it seemed only when bar drinks were involved. The scallops desperately needed more seasoning, but the crab cakes were great.
Quiet relaxing atmosphere. Food was good but not outstanding for the price. Service was good and friendly. A little pricey.
Our server was attentive without being intrusive. The menu choices are excellent. Overall great dinner.
