Our server Liza was the best! The steaks were okay, they were very fatty.
First off the steak I ordered was a filet Mignon it had no taste to it it was not cooked in any spices , or anything it tasted very bad. And the shrimp scampi was beyond Al dented it a good experience.
The experience and food was good. The one thing is that two of us finished our main course before the third person. Our plates were taken away and that was nice. We were given dessert menus and asked something like if there anything that we liked even though the third person was still eating her main course. We didn’t want to order dessert until our friend had finished her main course. Also there was no decaf espresso which I was surprised since it is a classy steakhouse. Thanks
The filet was cooked to perfection. One of the best I’ve had in a while! The salad was a little skimpy for the price, in comparison to others at similar restaurants. Friendly and prompt service. Warm and comfortable atmosphere. Online reservations is an added perk. Pre-theatre dinner date.
It has become our Thanksgiving tradition to go to M & S in downtown Pittsburgh. They are very accommodating and the food is very good. Our server, whose name I have forgotten, was very good too.
We made last minute reservations for Thanksgiving and had an excellent meal. Alex P was our server and did a great job ! We liked it so much that we will be coming back for Christmas Eve, and have asked for Alex of course.
There was a bit of confusion with our order. We got the wrong food. She did comp my husband a bowl of soup while he waited for his meal. The noise level was way to high for such a restaurant. I didn’t think we should have been walked thru a small hallway where the servers had supplies. (Water, silverware etc) . The quality of the food compensated for the others.
I really enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant. The waitress we had was very very nice and professional. The atmosphere was very pleasant. However, we went to eat. That is what we went there to do. We both ordered the ultimate seafood dinner. I felt that the quantity of seafood was very small. The shrimp were tiny and would have liked a larger piece of salmon. It was cooked to perfection though. Very small shrimp. Small amount of potatoes and bread.
We had to go to the parking lot and pay for the parking and walk outside to the restaurant, which is kind of a pain. Luckily it wasn't too cold. As far as I know, there is no elevator that takes you directly into the restaurant without going outside and walking up the ramp.
All in all, I like it very much, but I think it is very expensive for what they give you.
Great food and great service. We will definitely be back!
Dinner before a show. Nice way to start off the evening. Waitress was very nice and knowledgeable. Food was cooked perfectly.
Server was really nice. Food was good but not great.
Great meal and service. Told them we had show tickets for 8 pm. Our food came promptly and we never felt rushed to eat. Had plenty of time to get to the show.
We had a wonderful, delicious dinner this past Saturday before going to Heinz Hall. Service, ambience and food was terrific.
Really poor for the second time in a month. My wife ordered the wahoo. It wasn’t cooked. Second time in a row that happened to her. Chopped salad, which I normally like, was sour and vinegary. Beans were not cooked and they gave me wrong vodka in my drink. Crab cakes were fine. Service was poor. Hard to flag down anyone where we were sitting. I have a Landry Card but am so disappointed that we may not go back. We usually go there before an event in downtown Pittsburgh.
Paid for entire meal, still were not served 1 1/2 hours of waiting, had to leave.
Management said they would correct but have taken no further action.
Had a great experience here prior to the Elton John concert for a birthday celebration. Our server, Austin, was very attentive and knowledgeable, with a welcoming attitude. Places like M&S that ask if it's a special occasion and then give a complimentary dessert show that they care about their guests' dining experience and want you to remember it for future celebrations--which we will!
The fish was over salted, king crab was dry. We didn't get drinks until we were almost done with dinner - even though we ordered them closer to the beginning of the meal. Just overall not worth the money.
Atmosphere/Ambience was fantastic. The restaurant is stately and beautiful. Our server Scott was excellent. The food and drinks were delicious.
Great service. Great food
The food was absolutely delicious! First time here, live in PGH all my life.
Our waitor was amazing, his service and professionalism was first rate.
In the 5yrs this was the a disturbing evening. The music was for a cheap bar not a fine dining experience. The fish was greasy the flavor was not the standard. The experience was NOT what I have grown to exspect over the past 5 years.
We went to the restaurant prior to a hockey game. Our server, Robert was awesome!! He gave us suggestions, answered our questions, offered more drinks and cleared our table regularly. Our food was awesome. One person in our group got the filet, it was so tender no knife was necessary. There was not one complaint about the food.
Our server was the only good thing and that's a stretch! Food was not good, pasta had no seasoning and was returned and comped. Very dissatisfied with my visit!
Wasn’t very crowded but both bar and kitchen were backed up.
Food was good - but MUCH to long to get cocktail and drink - not waiters fault - I think understaffed and kitchen slow - took 20 minutes or more to get cocktail
Servers and host were outstanding. I had filet and lobster tail. Lobster was chewy and over cooked . Filet was good
Our server was great unfortunately my fish sandwich was inedible. It was so over fried you couldn’t even bit into it. I was at lunch with colleague so did not want to complain.
The food was lukewarm. And by the time you finished the dish it was cold.
It was such a great experience and amazing food for my mother’s 50th birthday! She loved it! They even gave her a personalized menu to keep!
Our waiter, David, was very attentive and responsive to our needs. When my wife's filet was undercooked, he took it back, and both he and the manager checked back with us. The meal overall was delicious, but the crabmeat stuffed shrimp was a bit under seasoned. Something to keep in mind for the next time. We will definitely be back, however!
I was on my way to a show with my sister that evening. The waiter asked if we were attending a show so that he could be mindful of our time. We told him that we were and we agreed on a time when we'd like to be on our way. We even got to have dessert without being rushed. I will return the next time I am in downtown for an evening.
Excellent! From the shrimp kisses, lobster bisque to my beef medallions....very tasty! My cocktail was tasty too. I will be back for sure.
It was my boyfriend’s birthday I wanted him to have a nice dinner. The food was amazing the best seafood I ever had anywhere. The staff was very welcoming and always asking if we needed anything. Atmosphere was quiet with very tasteful music. I highly recommend
Had a great experience, you have a very professional staff. We will be back.
Big party in banquet room made a lot of noise!!!!!!!
We had a team lunch for Boss's Day and everything was just perfect. Our servers were amazing and so attentive to our needs. Everyone's lunch was done to perfection and the atmosphere was awesome.
McCormick & Schmicks has been very consistent. The food is DELICIOUS! The service is very attentive. This was for a birthday. NO Mention of Happy Birthday. OK no complimentary dessert but a Happy Birthday from the waitress would have been appreciated.
Excellent food and service. John was great!
