1st time at this location. Enjoyed everything
Not the usual service I'm used to from MS. The calamari came with about a teaspoon of Marinara. One of the people in my party got the Bouliea (spelling?) base. He did not get any bread with the soup and no spoon. The table beside us was offered bread before their entire party even arrived. When he asked for a spoon, one employee scrambled to figure out where to find one but our waitress was able to find one once she was aware of the problem. The restaurant was not very busy at the time. This is out of character for what I'm used to at MS. I will go back and hope things get back to normal.
We were celebrating a birthday & our first time visiting the restaurant. We arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation & planned on heading to the bar, however the hostess had a table ready. We were immediately disappointed to see that it was a tiny round table located in the back room where everyone is practically sitting on top of each other. I quickly went back to ask if we could have one of the empty booths in the room up front or even one of the open tables as they are bigger & a little farther apart. I explained that I indicated on the reservation this was a birthday & would like a little room. She needed to speak to her manager, she arrived a short minute later & said they would accommodate us..that meant the front booth closest to the door & where all the traffic was from the people waiting to be seated. I had to wear my jacket the entire time & we had to endure people standing on top of our table, one being a couple who was rude enough sitting there waiting to get their picture taken. The service was subpar for establishment of this caliber. I had to ask our server twice for lemon for my water so I knew it wasn’t going to be good. I then asked for a side of crab legs with my steak & a short while later he came back to tell me they were all out but could add a side of crab on my plate. I declined & said I would add the stuffed mushrooms. Here came my husband’s lobster bisque & salad together, my salad & shortly the mushrooms all piled on the table together. The server could tell I was annoyed. I stated to him that I hope our meals will not be coming out before we had a chance to eat our salads. Minutes later here came our food. The server said I’m sorry the kitchen is really busy tonight & is just getting the food out quickly. Sorry, that’s on the server. This is a $200 bill not a $40 Applebees bill. Not sure I would return again for another visit, too many other good restaurants without hiccups.
Crowded... noisy... average quality for being priced so high. Both meals were wrong
Amazing place!!!! Had steak with a glass of wine. Everything was perfect.
Great food and wonderful service.
Food was good, service was good. Atmosphere a little hectic. Now to be fair it was the day after Valentine’s Day so likely some spill over but they had tables in what are normally Isles. So it was loud and “close”.
I really enjoyed everything. I have been telling everyone about how wonderful of a time I had. And I will be coming back very soon.
It was a wonderful evening for me and my hunni! Dinner was great the setting was perfect! No complaints!
We had made reservations the day before. Showed up at the time of the reservation and had to wait another hour for a table to be ready so we decided to leave.
We were served someone elses food a few times. Staff was nice but space was tight.
Wonderful experience. 10/10 would recommend.
Waited 30 min for my reservation. Food took forever to get to table.
Nothing to brag about this place. Food was ok. Small portions. Don’t get the calamari tho. Worst I’ve ever had.
Waitress was great. Made reservations a week ahead and was in some back room that had cheap lil tables setup for overflow traffic. Was not happy. Would not recommend. For same money and way better seafood goto Monterey Bay.
My husband and I loved the food and drinks. Although we felt like the service was a little bit poor we had a bit of a wait before seating especially when we had reservations. I also felt like staff was a bit slow and was probably due to maybe lack of staffing that day. All in all the food was amazing and having a bit issues with just staff availability didnt ruin our night. Also, best oysters I've had up north.
The atmosphere and the food was good, portions kind of small but overall very good.
Food was excellent
Everything was great. MOST DEFINITELY coming back
It wouldn’t be my first recommendation. But I would recommend to a friend
The food was very good, a little pricey but good. Our waiter was nice, but not very knowledgeable when it came to wine. Unfortunately the table they sat us at was right beside a serving station. There was barely enough room for the servers to get through. One servers tray hit the wall so he didn’t hit me and the plates went everywhere. Needless to say it took them at least 1/2 to clean it up. Also, every time a server went by, we had to duck our heads for them to get through! Not in no real big hurry to go back!
I would not recommend it during busy times or popular holidays I don't think their kitchen is equipped to handle a large influx of orders over a long period of time.
The same thing goes for the bar.
It was expensive, but that's what you get with steak and seafood. I wouldn't go there regularly, but I would definitely go back for a special occasion.
The service was great! Quick and friendly. Food was amazing and a great portion. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. We will definitely be back.
Nice experience for Valentine’s Day. Food was awesome. Service was very good and noise level was perfect. We were able to enjoy the music and still hear each other talk.
Dined on Valentine's Day, room was very hectic with wait staff running, service was ok, had to ask for bread which came after we were served our meals, food was lukewarm, but tasty. I don't mind paying a price for good food, but this was not up to par.
Valentine's Day. Fish tasted old and overdone. Not my usual experience at M&S, so I will try again in the future.
We went before a show at the Benedum. T
This was our first time to have dinner at McCormack and Schmick’s before the theater. Food was excellent as was our server. She did a wonderful job for us so that we had sufficient time for the three of us to enjoy our dinner and still make the 6:30 pm show. Yes, we will return. Thank you.
Food was amazing! Only complaint was my mashed potatoes were cold! We had the calamari, carb stuffed shrimp, and the crab cakes. Chocolate bag dessert was amazing as well just wish there were more fruit in it and not just on top!
Dinner reservations were at 6:30 pm. Our server asked us if we wanted bread. We said yes only to be told they had ran out of bread. How do you run out of bread so early in the evening. The soups were good, the main course average at best and not very good for a restaurant of this caliber. The stuffed shrimp with crab was more like shrimp stuffed will breading/filler. I've been to several M&S's with my favorite being in Boston. The Pittsburgh restaurant needs to improve its standards.
Great server. Food was amazing. Some people were rowdy. Water in bathroom was ICE cold.
Great food. Excellent service
Great food, service at a reasonable price!
We dine quite often at McCormick and Schmick’s and always have a positive dining experience. The food and wine are very good, service is outstanding, and the ambience is nice. Great place to dine before a show.
Food and service was outstanding and timely! Had Symphony tickets and service was on its top game for making a great visit.
Nothing spectacular about this place. Food was good. Service was okay. I did order a soda but was told they only have diet soda since they put diet soda in the regular soda fountain. Why not replace it? I would probably go back there, but I wouldn’t be in any rush to do so. I’d try another place before there.
Robert did a fine job of checking on us and making sure we had everything we needed. He also helped us with the decision on dinner selections.
4 of us had these dishes; swordfish with scallops; chef's choice Ahi Tuna and the Chef's choice Salmon and crab meat. All meals were so tender. Even the child's portion of Salmon was enough for several meals for the grandson.
The Palm Springs Cabernet wine for the evening was so smooth.
The kids shared the Chocolate Silk Pie and said it was divine.
We signed up to be members of the club, so we will return.
Waiter was accommodating and attentive. Service was prompt. Both fish and chicken were well prepared and pleasingly presented. Calamari was good and had an interesting spice combination. It was advertised "kung pao" but did not have a comparable amount of heat. Blueberry dessert was very good but chocolate silk pie was just so-so being very dense and missing any complimentary sauce or other flavor.
