McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
Hi, My husband and I was there this evening Friday January 19, 2018. I just want to start off by saying The food was pretty good, however service was horrible. I’m not sure if the waiter had too many table to attend to or what still doesn’t exclude the fact he slighted us. At first I felt like it was a bit overwhelmed. Until this large group came in and his focus was fully on them. I was kind of offended. When he bought things he sat it at the edge of the table. The kicker for me was he never once came by and asked us how our food was. Now I’ve been to many of restaurants and that’s one of the main questions asked after quest get their food. Well he didn’t. This was my 1st time at McCormicks and I’ve heard pretty good things and I was really looking forward to the experience. Our experience was horrible. And I didn’t catch the guys name. But I’m sure this will happen again. I pray not butnim sure it will. Because he was just very nonchalant and not forthcoming at all. On another note, I Thank the chefs for the amazing food.
Thanks Always, Safiyaah
The overall atmosphere was great, however, the meal overall was a bit bland and flavorless. I had the steak medallions and my friend had the stuffed salmon. The steak and stuffed salmon were cooked well despite being a little bland. The potatoes and vegetables that came with the dish were completely bland and flavorless. I did, however, enjoy the berry cheesecake served for desert.
Food absolutely superb. The waitress was knowledgeable, attentive, friendly, accommodating, and refreshing. Date night, special occasions, business meeting, catching up with friends, or just for treating self, you can not go wrong with this Restaurant. Have been there numerous times and they didn’t disappoint this time! Well done!!!!
I went for restaurant week and i was less than pleased with my 3 course meal. I had the crab soup to start. It tasted like canned vegetable soup with crab meat sprinkled on top. My entree was the stuffed salmon. That was just ok. Then the cheesecake for desert, which was not good at all. The cheesecake I make at home is better than that. The only thing I really enjoyed was the strawberry mint lemonade. It was delicious. Our waitress was very nice and informative. I wouldn't recommend this place.
Seafood Tower was superb, my twin lobster tails were succulent and rich, the sauteed spinach was alittle heavy handed with the garlic, but since I love garlic didn't have an issue, but other probably would. The chocolate basket should be a bit smaller, and maybe some crunch or cake layers added, rather then just mousse, but it didn't stop us from digging in with gusto to it, delish! Orlando was very attentive and fun.
The atmosphere is old world, but the food was awful. Perhaps the weather played a part in the quality, but the poor quality was i excusible. My steak was not only grossly over cooked, but poor quality. The mashed potatoes tasted like pure salt. My dinning parter felt the meal was on par with the Olive Garden.
We were very disappointed with the wait, e.g. bread, then butter, etc. It was extremely cold in the restaurant and we complained to the server and the assistant manager . The assistant manager was lacking in his response. A young couple was seated beside us. She indicated that it was her first time and the last time due to the extremely cold restaurant temperature and poor service. (They were told the server for their table had quit and others were filling in.) The temperature was so cold that we were unable to enjoy the ambience and or the food. My hands were freezing and my teeth were close to chattering. We deserved a comped meal and a medal for sticking it out.
I heard nothing but good things about McCormick & Schmick's Seafood. However I was not overly impressed with my meal. The steak and lobster were average. I had the same meal a few weeks at one of my local restaurants and it was much better and 1/3 of the cost. I did enjoy the raw oysters I had.
The food was adequate but my filet was as plain as it gets. No seasoning, no nothing. My wife got the stuffed salmon which seemed to have one very small shrimp and a little bit of crab. It was definitely disappointing. The appetizers, drinks and salads were good, but overall it was a mediocre dining experience.
