McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I were on vacation in Philadelphia and went here because it was next to our hotel. My husband frequents McCormick & Schmick’s restaurants while out on business, but it was my first time there, and I was not disappointed.
We got there early for our reservations, but only had to wait a couple of minutes before they had a table ready for us.
They have a nice wine selection, in addition to many varieties of cocktails to choose from, to start the dinner off right. We had a salad to start, followed by Parmesan encrusted flounder with butternut squash risotto, and green beans for me. The fish was delicious, as was the risotto. My husband had the salmon stuffed with crab, and mashed potatoes.
We finished this great meal with a decadent piece of chocolate silk pie, EXCELLENT! It is expensive to eat here, but the food is top notch. Everything was perfect, the food, the service, the ambiance. The only drawback was the noise level, it was so loud that we had to lean across the table to hear one another talk.
However, I would highly recommend this place.
I've been going to McCormick and Schlick for years; in fact, we had our son's wedding rehearsal dinner upstairs in their separate event area, which was wonderful. I'd recommend it to anyone for good food and excellent place for getting together with friends for a stress-free evening.
I am delighted that McCormick & Schmidt was a part of Restaurant Week. Though the value for the meal offered was great, I did not want any of the entrees listed. I actually order shrimps from the regular menu. Perhaps next time they will add a shrimp or crab dish. The shrimp were not cooked quite enough; they could have fried them another minute so the breading would have been crisper and not falling off. Otherwise, we enjoyed our visit and the service was excellent and I would come again; this was not my first visit.
Food was delicious, but waitress forgot to put in the order for my salad (even after she told me it was her favorite and a great choice). My dining companion did not order a salad, but said she was happy enjoying her wine while I ate the salad. When our entrees finally arrived, I asked where my salad was, and she said she forgot to order it. At that point, with hot entrees in front of us, I didn’t want to wait for a salad. That was the last I heard of it. No apology, no “may I get you something else,” no compensation offered. Handled VERY poorly. We had told her when we were seated that we had 8pm theater tickets, and needed to be out of the restaurant by 7:45. Our bill was given to us at 7:10, with no asking if we would like coffee or dessert. My companion indeed wanted coffee. Seemed like she was rushing to get us out.
My friends and I went for restaurant week and it was nice. A bit crowded but I guess that's to be expected. The food was good( I had the stuffed salmon) and my server Tyler was awesome. The only thing that I found to be odd with such an "upscale" restaurant was how dirty the bathrooms were and how it did not have any toilet paper in the stalls but overall it was a nice dining experience.
I don’t think I have ever been more disappointed in a meal. I am far from a picky eater and am seldom unhappy but McCormick & Schmick's was absolutely awful. The $40 Alaskan Crab entree tasted like watery mush. It had NO flavor and was what I would imagine imitation “krab” tastes like. I really cannot put into words how nasty it was. If I didn’t know better, I would say that it wasn’t even crab. It came with a side of roasted potatoes that looked great on the outside (golden brown) but were so undercooked that the center was cold. I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. On a positive note, the bread was good. I was starving and considering my dinner was far from edible, I filled up on bread. The waiter was visibly annoyed. You could not pay me to eat there again.
The food was very good. The waiter was not attentive. I had to ask for starting bread, a straw for my water and even had to ask to receive a Cocktail. My waiter seemed like he would rather not wait on my table. He was very unfriendly. This is the 2nd time that I've been here during Restaurant Week 2018 this month, with a different person & the experience was horrible. The 1st time, the waiter huffed & said : Is there anything else that I can get U before I walk away? That was very unprofessional & I felt uncomfortable. The only good experience that I had was enjoying my food & that's the ONLY REASON why I would recommend this Restaurant.
We went during Philly Restaurant week so it was pretty crowded however, we had reservationd which saved us. The staff quickly seated us and service was good. The restaurant was a bit noisy due to a few larger parties near by but it didn't ruin our evening. Overall everything was great.
Hi, My husband and I was there this evening Friday January 19, 2018. I just want to start off by saying The food was pretty good, however service was horrible. I’m not sure if the waiter had too many table to attend to or what still doesn’t exclude the fact he slighted us. At first I felt like it was a bit overwhelmed. Until this large group came in and his focus was fully on them. I was kind of offended. When he bought things he sat it at the edge of the table. The kicker for me was he never once came by and asked us how our food was. Now I’ve been to many of restaurants and that’s one of the main questions asked after quest get their food. Well he didn’t. This was my 1st time at McCormicks and I’ve heard pretty good things and I was really looking forward to the experience. Our experience was horrible. And I didn’t catch the guys name. But I’m sure this will happen again. I pray not butnim sure it will. Because he was just very nonchalant and not forthcoming at all. On another note, I Thank the chefs for the amazing food.
Thanks Always, Safiyaah
This place had excellent service! Everyone was nice! The food was to die for but portions were very small. Didn't care for the table set up; the tables were to close together, made it hard to navigate without bumping people. But the service and taste of food made it worth it, EVEN THOUGH I WISH THE PROTIONS WERE BIGGER LOL :)
The overall atmosphere was great, however, the meal overall was a bit bland and flavorless. I had the steak medallions and my friend had the stuffed salmon. The steak and stuffed salmon were cooked well despite being a little bland. The potatoes and vegetables that came with the dish were completely bland and flavorless. I did, however, enjoy the berry cheesecake served for desert.
Food absolutely superb. The waitress was knowledgeable, attentive, friendly, accommodating, and refreshing. Date night, special occasions, business meeting, catching up with friends, or just for treating self, you can not go wrong with this Restaurant. Have been there numerous times and they didn’t disappoint this time! Well done!!!!
I went for restaurant week and i was less than pleased with my 3 course meal. I had the crab soup to start. It tasted like canned vegetable soup with crab meat sprinkled on top. My entree was the stuffed salmon. That was just ok. Then the cheesecake for desert, which was not good at all. The cheesecake I make at home is better than that. The only thing I really enjoyed was the strawberry mint lemonade. It was delicious. Our waitress was very nice and informative. I wouldn't recommend this place.
Promptly seated upon arrival by a very pleasant hostess. Waiter was very seasoned and was aware of specials and menu items. Food Arrived @ appropriate temperature and timely. The only issue I had was the silverware was sent back on three separate occasions to be replaced due to non cleanliness.
