McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
I made reservations for Valentines Day for 12. It was not very busy but our waitress was doing so many tables we waited each time for anything. My soup came out cold, our meals came out cold & the fish was not fully cooked. We sent the fish back (mind you a $44 meal) cold & not cooked. Completely disgusted my husband didn't even want to eat anything else. They took the meal off but that was not the point! This was our chance to get a date in while the children were in school. My meal was ok but I definitely have had better. We are planning another valentines date, since this place didn't work out!!! We will not be returning.
I went for the first time for my birthday. The overall vibe was nice. It was pretty noisy, and we were seated by the kitchen so it was especially loud, but still tolerable. We really enjoyed our server Natalie. She was such a sweetheart, and was very attentive. Everything tasted really good. The only downside was, our main course wasn't very hot but it was particularly busy. I also wish the portions were a bit larger for the price but overall, we would definitely return.
Disappointing. We've been to McCormick and Schmicks previously and had positive experiences. This time my husband had the clam chowder and it was too salty. We split the Salmon with Saffron butter. It said it was wild Salmon but it very much looked farm raised. It was floating in plain butter with a small ring of Saffron butter around the plate. On my almost last bite of food, I thought there was a pin bone in my mouth and instead pulled out a shard of metal likely from a grill brush. We showed the manager and he offered dessert which we exchanged for a round a drinks. I assumed as a given they would take the Salmon dish off our bill but they did not. It was scary to realize what could have happened if I inadvertently swallowed that piece of metal. I realize accidents can happen but the overall lack of concern means we likely won't be coming back.
Service by Christine was wonderful. And understanding that it's the second week of restaurant week, I'm sure there was a lot of fatigue and repetition in the kitchen. But the food portions were slightly sloppy, small and not evenly cooked. The mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts shouldn't be the best thing on my plate. Desert was amazing.
My husband and I were on vacation in Philadelphia and went here because it was next to our hotel. My husband frequents McCormick & Schmick’s restaurants while out on business, but it was my first time there, and I was not disappointed.
We got there early for our reservations, but only had to wait a couple of minutes before they had a table ready for us.
They have a nice wine selection, in addition to many varieties of cocktails to choose from, to start the dinner off right. We had a salad to start, followed by Parmesan encrusted flounder with butternut squash risotto, and green beans for me. The fish was delicious, as was the risotto. My husband had the salmon stuffed with crab, and mashed potatoes.
We finished this great meal with a decadent piece of chocolate silk pie, EXCELLENT! It is expensive to eat here, but the food is top notch. Everything was perfect, the food, the service, the ambiance. The only drawback was the noise level, it was so loud that we had to lean across the table to hear one another talk.
However, I would highly recommend this place.
I've been going to McCormick and Schlick for years; in fact, we had our son's wedding rehearsal dinner upstairs in their separate event area, which was wonderful. I'd recommend it to anyone for good food and excellent place for getting together with friends for a stress-free evening.
I am delighted that McCormick & Schmidt was a part of Restaurant Week. Though the value for the meal offered was great, I did not want any of the entrees listed. I actually order shrimps from the regular menu. Perhaps next time they will add a shrimp or crab dish. The shrimp were not cooked quite enough; they could have fried them another minute so the breading would have been crisper and not falling off. Otherwise, we enjoyed our visit and the service was excellent and I would come again; this was not my first visit.
