My wife and I enjoyed our dinner and the waitress was not as attentive as we would have liked. But we enjoyed our meal. However, We asked three times for an ice bucket for our wine. It finally came. But the most disturbing thing was a diner guest near our table was carrying a concealed weapon (handgun). Not so concealed as we saw it sticking out of his shirt. I do not think any restaurant that serves liquor should allow anyone to carry a weapon in the restaurant.
One person in our group ordered the pretzel crusted walleye but received pretzel crusted white fish. She said it didn’t taste like walleye so asked she asked the server and she said it was. Received the bill and in fact it was white fish . Very disappointing
Service was very slow, even though there were just a few tables filled. Had to take our check to the front desk because our server did not pick it up. Manager gave us a discount because of the slow service.
We were disappointed in that many of the menu items that we wanted to order were not available because this was the day after Mother's Day. The steak was delicious but the side order of mushrooms tasted like they were out of a can. The salad was droopy and seemed as if it had been sitting around an extra day. All in all we would not come here again. For the high price we paid, we were very disappointed.
This was by far one of the worst experiences I have had in a restaurant in a long time. We had a reservation for 6:30pm and arrived promptly 5 minutes prior. We were informed it would be a 20-25 minute wait which I understand since it was Mothers Day. The wait was close to 45 minutes. We finally got seated and it took about 10 minutes for the waiter to come by. After bringing us water and bread, we gave our full order. The apps and salad/soup came out in a timely fashion. But our waiter never came by to check on us (my glass of water was empty for about 20-30 minutes). So after some time finishing our appetizers (maybe 20 minutes), I finally got the waiters attention and asked about our entrees. He mentioned it would come out shortly. Another 20 minutes and he looks at me and runs to the kitchen and comes out and says sorry, it will be another 15 minutes. 30 minutes later our food finally comes out (in which the manager came by prior to apologize). We get our food (from a different waiter) and not once did our waiter come to check on us. We had to ask another waiter for water and also some sauce for my mom's crabcakes. After we are done eating, we are waiting for 10-15 minutes and our waiter still hasn't come by. Finally, I get someones attention and I am very perturbed with the lack of service, she finally gets the waiters attention and his excuse is "sorry I have been busy with tables". The manager offered us dessert, which he pre-selected for us (which we wanted to order our own). I am not one to complain, but this is beyond ridiculous. The fact I wanted to make Mothers Day special for my Mom, this ruined it. We didn't leave the restaurant till after 9:30. And mind you tables all around us all got their food (who were seated after us) and left too, but their waiters were very attentive.
Horrible overall experience, not what I would expect from M&S. Waited 25 min past our 6:30 reservation time for a table with my 80 year old parents. They clearly overbooked and poorly managed expected dining times. No complaints about our actual server, she was nice and had probably had a long day already. Food was not up to par. Worst Clam Chowder ever, tasted like onion soup. Halibut was over cooked and dry. Honestly couldn’t wait for the meal to get over and leave. Was celebrating college grad and sorely wished I had booked another restaurant. Lots of unhappy and disappointed patrons around us also. Avoid this place, we will not be back
Where do I start
RESERVATIONS: I had reservations at 530pm. We chevron and they stated they are 30-45 minutes behind What? Really?
While waiting to get seated I noticed that it took about 20-25 minutes for a table to get cleared for the next reservation. Everyone except the GM was running around like a snail or a sloth. No sense of urgency
Finally We get seated
FOOD: the menu was totally different then the menu posted online. The waitress took our drink order and 20 minutes later showed up with the drinks. She apologized gave us some bread for the table. She took our order
My husband wanted the calamari and lobster soup, my 8 year old ordered a cheeseburger and I order the Stuffed shrimp, crab cakes, salmon and grilled shrimp special.
35 minutes later, in this span of time, the waitress didn't come by to see if we were ok or even apologizing for the wait. Nothing,, not a peep. I think she was avoiding us altogether
It finally comes and my mash potatoes are stone cold, literally. Cold as it can be. I try to get the waitress attention, she pretended like she didn't see me. -Girl, I know you heard me calling you!
GM is at another table apologizing and I got his attention to let him know. He immediately got me my mashed potatoes which were gross to say the least.
My hubby stuff was meh nothing special
My dish: meh
I waited all this time for meh dishes but at a high price. It's was by far a big disappointment on Mother's Day no less
In closing, I will never come back, it's nothing special. The staff needs to be retrained and the back kitchen needs to add more staff due to the long wait times. Everyone there was very frustrated due to lack of service and long wait times for food
You have been fully warned. This was a big disappointment.
The restaurant on Mother’s Day at dinner was a disaster. We waited an hour for a table despite having a reservation. The service was horrible due to what we assumed was a kitchen backup. You would think they would be better prepared on a day like Mother’s Day. We will never go back.
Longer than expected wait time. The server was attentive. Some food items were cold and the king crab was dry. The 8 oz filet and lobster tails were excellent.
It was incredibly busy for Mother's Day, which is completely understandable. Our server, Matt, was 110% on top of everything and provided superior service. This was by far our best experience at McCormick & Schmick's!
This location was not great. Service was good but food not so much. Seafood was over cooked and steaks were undercooked. Flavor wasn’t good for anything we had
Quick seating, prompt service, friendly, and good food!
Food was great! Would’ve preferred a brunch menu at 11am but it worked out fine for the day.
Worst service I’ve ever experienced. Sat at high top in bar area and waited 10 minutes for it to be cleared. Waited another 10 minutes for drinks which were made incorrectly. Ordered apps but didn’t see our server again after that. Had to order from the bartender and finally decided to leave once they stopped waiting on us.
We made reservations for the day before Mother’s Day! The place was packed but we got our table within minutes. The crab cakes were delicious and the steak looked perfect as well. The house wine was also very good. It was very crowded so service was a bit slow but we were enjoying ourselves and never felt rushed. Can’t wait to go back.
Both of us had the lobster tower salad - amazing.
Nancy, the bartender, is always kind and remembers our order, even when we haven't been there in several weeks. She's quite good at remembering things!
Food was mediocre. Maybe it was too early in the day, but that’s exactly what the food tasted like. I was celebrating a milestone in my daughters life and the restaurant let me down. I’ve gotten amazing service and food in the past.
Delicious as usual
Service was excellent. The appetizer and main courses were delicious. Dessert was just OK. I would have liked to see more local fish selections highlighted. The price for the selection, not so unique, is a little high compared to other restaurants in the area.
Excellent servers. Delicious food. Great children’s menu.
The food took forever and was served cold. The eggs Benedict was tasteless. Very disappointed.
It was my husbands birthday & the restaurant was informed when I made our dinner reservations. It was never addressed by the wait staff, which I feel was inexcusable. Not looking for a freebie dessert, but an offer would have been nice. The server was lax in checking in on us & even though the booth behind us was asked if they wanted more bread, we never were! Food was good but restaurant lacking in ‘that little extra touch’ which keeps patrons coming back
Wonderful food and service
I had dinner with my family at McCormick & Schmick's in OakBrook to use up a Landry's Restaurant Gift Card balance. We were there promptly for our 1:00 PM reservation on a Sunday afternoon. The host's desk was vacant when we arrived. We had to wait for about 5 minutes to be greeted and seated. The restaurant was not busy - it was possibly 10% full (our table plus only 3 other tables). Service was completely terrible. It was like we didn't even exist. We finally received our appetizers at about 2:00, and dinner was served at about 3:00. Ordered drinks didn't show up, and we had to reorder those. We were finally out of there around 4:00. Food was very good, the waitress was pleasant. But due to the lack of attention, missed drink orders, and extremely long waits, I will not be going back.
We were a group of 10 with 4 children. After placing order had to wait nearly 45 min. Stated they were understaffed in kitchen. Soup was cold; my rueban sandwich was so-so
Outstanding food, excellent service, wonderful atmosphere. We would definitely be back!!
My husband and I decided to try this restaurant for his birthday as he wanted Seafood. Menu looked great, they had Stags leap wine that my husband is a huge fan of and we always love trying new restaurants. So we were excited for a good time.
We had a 6:45 reservation and when we arrived, the hostess seemed to not know where to seat us. As a former server/bartender, I get rotating the sections and making sure servers are not double sat... however she decided to seat us right near the door, it was extremely loud, near the server station and in the busiest aisle as the servers leave the kitchen... I would have understood if the restaurant was packed, however there were many open booths and we were the only people seated at a table in the entire front of the restaurant. So I politely asked to move to a quieter booth. After 5 minutes of waiting, we were moved to a booth. After another 7 minutes, the server came and asked for our drink order. We both ordered red wine and calamari as an app. The calamari came out before our wine was even poured in our glasses. The same staff member who brought our calamari seemed to notice our empty wine glasses and brought it after she dropped off the calamari. Our entrees came out fine, my husband enjoyed his Cobia and I really liked the Alaskan King Crab. But as I was still eating my entree, the server came out with a birthday dessert for my husband? While I appreciate the gesture for a birthday treat, the whole experience felt rushed. I was not even done eating. What if we wanted a different dessert? It was probably the strangest experience my husband and I have had at a “fine dining” restaurant and we felt like we were an inconvenience on a Friday night... while the food was good, we will likely not be back.
Our server packaged our wine bottle but failed to tighten the cap so wine leaked out into our carry bag. Disappointed.
My husband and I went for our 20 year anniversary. We were given a menu saying congratulations on 20year, Seated in corner away from other guest, Service was outstanding , and we were given a special desert to split. If you are a member you can also bring your on beverages with no fee.
We came here for my moms 50th birthday and we had a great time! Great food, service and ambiance. Will definitely be coming back!
Went with the whole family for a birthday dinner with two teenagers that can EAT! 3 ordered salmon, chicken Marsala, fish and chips and the burger off the three coarse meal for $25 (from 3:30p-6p) . We went late and they were out of a couple of the deserts which they substituted apple pie. Which was fine. Total bill was under $200 for 6 of us! 😆 Portion sizes were large and most of us brought leftovers.
Have enjoyed food at McCormick however, the six each could have been at least eight each. Kudos on the lemon sorbet - the best I have ever tasted.
Service was outstanding and food was great
Our reservation was for 6:30 pm but we arrived early and was able to be seated with no wait. The atmosphere was pleasant, the food was wait and the our waiter Abdullah, was very attentive. It was a nice way to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary. I will be returning to this restaurant.
First time dining there. Didn't really know what to expect. However, my experience was very pleasant. The waiter was good and knowledgeable. From the appetizers to our entrees-Our food was very delicious. I look forward to dining there again.
Ion peas or server and he couldn’t have been nicer. He knows the menu, and made great suggestions. I will return soon
Love this place. They need to advertise somehow to get more people in.
I believe that the food products they use are inferior and the meat is really choice and in no way dry rubbed and aged. What a disappointment for my daughter’s birthday dinner. The establishment was empty and I know why. What a shame.
Celebrating our son’s belated 21st birthday. Very nice touch the occasion was printed on our personalized menu’s! Had never seen that done before. Very nice touch. Great service, food & drinks were good. Thank you all very much for a memorable evening. Great job!!!
