We had a birthday lunch. They did an excellent job with everything. We try to go to this restaurant about once a month. Jake was our waiter this time. He did a very nice job!
Steak was under seasoned and the service was lackadaisical.
Everything was excellent!
we have dined at McCormack & Schmick"s numerous times over the years and we have enjoyed the food and service. They have always been consistent and we would recommend them.
Our visit was by invitation from the manager after an unhappy experience. It was supposed to be a show of their best, it was not. Slow service, over cooked salmon, skimpy vegetables, and a flippant server.
So, reviews from our table… The seafood items were very good. I had a filet mignon ordered medium rare and it was delivered medium well. My husband had a burger ordered medium and was definitely served medium well. The potatoes were very good!
The service was very slow. If you ordered a drink you were waiting 15-20 min before it arrived... and multiple people at our table had to ask a second time. The ambience was nice enough and the servers and hostesses were very nice overall.
We had a little car trouble on the way to the restaurant and they happily moved our reservation to accommodate. Great service and great food. The oyster rockefeller and shrimp kisses are definitely must try appetizers.
Our waiter was awesome but I was disappointed. My shrimp scampi was flavorless but I loved the appetizer. Expensive bill to be disappointed
Clam chowder too salty to eat
I love this place
Amazing ambience. Great food. Great drinks. The Apple Pie is absolutely amazing! Highly recommend.
Great food and service. Fast and quick.
Great food & service !!!
Great food & Service. Has something for everyone.
Clean & neat.
Great food but pricey!
The food was quite good as expected. I usually go to this restaurant on a weeknight which is quieter and the service is more attentive. The weekend service was lacking. My friend had to ask twice for a glass of wine and our food took a long time to come to the table.
We had a gift card & decided to try to find a McCormick & Schmidt restaurant near our home. We went to the Oak Brook Terrace restaurant. It was a Friday evening & were surprised that it was not crowded. The ambiance & decor were very nice, but service was awful. Our server came up & asked for our drink order which then took a long time to get. Then when my husband asked about an entree, our waiter said that that was a lot of food. My husband was shocked with that response. We waited a long time to get our entrees again. Overall, the service was the big problem! When we did get our entrees, they were outstanding! We are not sure if we will be back, however.
It was just ehhhh, went for my birthday with my wife. We were promptly seated and the server was attentive. We were given lunch menus for dinner. We had a very loud person near us that had obviously been way over served. While he may have arrived that way, the staff continued to serve him more. He was drinking hard alcohol and was pounding like a college frat boy on spring break. We ordered salads and soups as well as our entrees ...which arrived in short order, then did out entrees...as in way to fast.... Like 5 minutes later fast. So we are then left to decide to abandon our soup and salad or have cold dinner. I don't think the idea of going out to dinner is to have to take your cold food home because you couldn't eat it fast enough. I had ordered a topping on my steak which did not happen. The servers solution was to bring me some cheese in a bowl to dump on top of my now cold steak. The steak was burnt, not grilled, not char, flat out burnt on the outside leaving a disgusting black coating on the outside... it was obviously cooked in great haste.... why I'm not sure as the restraunt was not busy. We were brought luke warm coffee and desert menus that were not even the same. I ordered a chocolate pie that was obviously just taken out of the freezer as it was still a brick of ice in the center... not the greatest birthday dinner.... I honestly expected a great deal more for the price we paid.... not impressed.....
The food was great as usual. I always feel at home. The Team is friendly and warm. Nancy at the bar is my favorite! It's like Cheers!
This was our first time to eat at your restaurant. We felt it was very inviting and beautifully decorated. We met two other friends and enjoyed a nice quiet dinner together. Before we realized it, we had been sitting there talking for three and a half hours!! The booths were quite private..there were hooks to hang your coats...but the best part was the food. I had the pan seared scallops entree which was quite exceptional!!! We did feel the prices were quite high for what you got. It would have been nice to have soup or salad included in the entree price and not have to pay extra for them. We do recommend going on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid the crowds. We pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves and really enjoyed the total restaurant environment. The service was GREAT, too!
Food was very good. However, our waiter did not check back with us after serving us our food, nor did he serve us our coffee until we had talked to the Mgr, which was after we waited 20+ mins from the time we placed our order. The Mgr, to his credit, resolved the matter immediately. We do realize that the waiter had other patrons, but waiting over 20 mins to be served the coffee we ordered was too long. No need to reply, as the Mgr took care of the problem.
There could have been a greater selection of seafood entre's. However, the food was excellent.
The dining atmosphere was pleasant. Our waiter was charming, knowledgeable and attentive.
Overall, a very pleasant experience.
We were ignored. Waiter bussed our table & took our orders when it was convenient for him. Manager stopped at surrounding tables but not ours. Wife’s scallops were not served as described in menu. My crab was dry and served with a tiny (less than 1 oz) cup of butter. Had to use a table fork and was unable to get at the claw meat. 3 hours & $200?wasted. We won’t be going back.
Restaurant was slow around 830 on a Friday night. Service was very weak and non observant. My wife ordered a basil Hayden on the rocks, the server came back by the table multiple times but didnt bring it. After 20 minutes we had to ask and she said she forgot about it. It took more than 15 minutes to get bread after she said she was going to get some. My water sat empty for more that 10 minutes before having to ask for a refill.
The miso sea bass dish was excellent, my wife's filet was just ok and the truffle fries were not very good. They were not hot, were thick and didnt have very much flavor.
The creme brulee for dessert was pretty good although it seemed like it had been torched long before ever coming to the table.
The food was cold when served. My wife and I really like crab cakes but their crab cakes were more fillers and crab. We had to ask the waitress 3 times to bring bread. We were halfway through our meal before the bread came. So disappointing.
Our server was attentive and the food was delicious. I would definitely go again.
One of the best dinner experiences we have had. Great food and service in a quiet environment.
The sea bass was sweet and delicious. The wine prices were reasonable. The server was helpful and efficient. The desserts were great. This is an excellent seafood restaurant.
This wasn't the best experience. They had fans blasting full speed in the bar area, even though it's the middle of winter, and it was quite cold. Several guests complained about it, but they never got turned off. When we were seated 15 minutes went by and no one came to our table. We were finally able to flag someone down and got a server after that. The food was just ok. We probably won't be back.
Had a 6:30 pm reservation, but arrived a little early. The wait was short for our table. Food was good and service excellent. We will eat there again.
Service was amazing food outstanding.
Took wife for late Valentine's Day. Dissaponted and fealt awkward since the music was way to upbeat and didnt go with the dinner atmosphere. Service was great. Crab legs and lobster seemed dry. Filet was good. Best part was the dessert and our waitress. Based on the competitive options, will most like likely not come back.
Service was good, food was good.
Very few people in restaurant and server/hostess was not attentive to. Our needs.asked for. A refill on coffee and had to be asked again. Very poor service. Food was really good
The food was very good but we are not likely to go back because the music was too loud. You could hardly hear anyone speak. Why do some many venues ruin the experience by having loud music. What ever happened to soft background music. Even the waiter had to lean over to hear our order and had to repeat it.
I had never been to this restaurant before. My husband and I went for Valentine's Day. We waited about ten minutes even though we had a reservation. The appetizer of stuffed shrimp was very good, however it was downhill from there. My food came out lukewarm and my husbands steak was underdone. We sent it back. It took so long for his food to come out we shared my meal and it was gone before his returned. My potatoes were slightly undercooked, the side the waitress said the meals came with was zucchini but they came out with Brussels sprouts. I like that vegetable so I didn't complain. We were so hungry we just ate my cold meal anyway. When I used the restroom, I found out too late that there was no toilet paper in the stall. This restaurant catagorizes itself as high end steak and sea food restaurant. I'm willing to pay for a great meal, atmosphere, and service. We did not complain because it was a special occasion but we will never go back. The positive thing I can say is that our waitress was nice and apologized for the food coming out wrong and then late. Not impressed.
Food was great, service excellent. Great location for a special dinner.
For the most part, the food was delicious and the service was very good.
I thought my salmon was a little too cooked. They really skimped on the stuffing of crabmeat and shrimp. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. But, two things I do not like: I don't like waiting while I'm eating for a glass of wine, puts a damper on dining for me; he whisked my glass of wine away later before I was done with it. Why do they not ask? I had stepped into the washroom. My husband just watched him clean some things off the table.
All good, service and food very good, and we could communicate without disturbance.
Not super impressed. We’ve heard really good things so was expecting a great experience. We go to Steakhouses yearly for our Anniversary. 23 years and this was probably at the bottom of our list. Service was mediocre, my steak was much more rare than ordered. Yes I could have sent it back...but I rarely do that. Food was served on cool plate and didn’t stay warm enough for me to enjoy the short time it takes to eat 6 oz. After it being offered we had to ask for the bread 2 more times before it arrived. Too many choices out there to take a chance on going here again. Not terrible but not good enough to return.
