Good cocktails, good food and good service. Always a good dining experience.
The food was good and so was the service. I would return.
We sat down at 8 and ordered our appetizer right away and an hour had passed and we did not receive it yet, same thing goes for the main course. I get it takes time, but come on. The place was not busy at all and the waiters were chit chatting. Our waiter was on top of it but the other staff was very unprofessional which caused a delay in his service.
Not quite up to standard for a seafood restaurant.
The lobster bisque was very good, but the large cold appetizer plate featured waterlogged king crab legs & lobster. The lobster had been in the pot for so long the meat was pink! Crab legs & lobster had no flavor whatsoever,
Oysters & shrimp were good
Everything was delicious
The swordfish was fantastic!
Today we went for Wednesday Special $1/each for Delaware Bay Oyster and Shrimp. We ordered half dozen shrimp. It was good. But nothing spectacular. We were very pleased with the oyster. Order 3 dozen. We also order one salad-wedges salad to take home. I love the Berry Berry Mojito drink. Today’s waitress was very nice and attentive. Much better experience compared to a few weeks ago. Hope the quality would be consistent.
Happy hour on the patio is great. We all tried new on tap beer and liked them. We shared. One got shrimp and oysters, only one dollar each. The shrimp were large and firm. The real horseradish was very good. We also had fish tacos and split the enormous Berger. A nice place to sit and chat, even on a hot day, in the shade with a fan was totally comfortable. We go there monthly with different people. Everyone likes it.
We toured Lazzadro museum of lapidary art (rocks!) before, also worth a trip to Oak Brook. An unbelievable collection of precious stone artwork. My favorites are the gold castle and carved jades and pictures made up of different colored tiny rocks, etc. We take our out of town guests there then to happy hour. We are all happy!
McCormick & Shmicks has some of the best seafood in the Chicagoland area. While it is pricey, the entrees are cooked to perfection. I would definitely order the Blackened Grouper and was very happy with my choice. My wife’s Alaskan Halibut was delicious and the risotto was even better (big risotto fans!). I wish we could sit outdoors but it was closed due to storms. The only other suggestion I would make is to make the apps a little bigger (6 shrimp kisses instead of 4). Andrew, our server, was excellent too.
Service was very slow for a fairly empty Friday. Had to send back sea bass and by the time the waiter came back everyone else was done eating
It’s was my birthday celebration. We waited 30 minutes with reservations to be seated. It took a while for the server to come to our table after being seated. It took a while for the drinks and appetizer as well as our food. My twin lobster tails were overcooked, tough and rubbery. My daughter loved her burger. My husband’s lobster bisque was cold and salty.
It was not a good experience. I’m disappointed and expected better food and service.
Waiter wasn't attentive...and we had to wait almost 20 mins before the hostess noticed our table still didn't even have water.
We brought a young couple here for their 1st anniversary. None of us had been to this restaurant prior but our intel was that it was a nicer, high-end place. Our immediate impression upon walking in was that the lighting was very dim. It was only 6:15 and sunny outside but dark, almost dreary inside. We were brought to our table; the chairs had almost no support to them. They seemed old and ready to be replaced. Even the fabric was worn and frayed. On the other hand, we really enjoyed the food. As a starter we shared the shrimp kisses which everyone liked. The drinks were all done well too. The main entrees were to everyone's liking although my plate had uneven heat. My shrimp were hot off the grill but my vegetables and mashed potatoes were just warm, like they had been sitting around. We also shared the "famous" chocolate bag dessert. It was good but really hard to crack the chocolate frame. Either make it thinner or supply some utensil to break up the hard shell. In all we had a nice dinner. The atmosphere of this location screams "we are closing soon and we don't care about how it looks". I think the owners can, and should, do a better job at updating the inside.
Music was extremely loud, took away the conversational moments
A little pricey but food was excellent and service was excellent
8 year anniversary with my girlfriend!
Had 3:30 reservation and didn’t get served until 4pm. We had to repeatedly ask for bread which didn’t come until about 4:30. Waiter said that the ovens had to get hot and service was very slow. We had coconut shrimp which was over cooked, it was taken off the bill, however we wanted to enjoy the coconut shrimp. Celebrating a birthday and a chocolate dessert was offered, when we asked the server is something else could be substituted as the complimentary dessert he replied he didn’t have the authority to do it and didn’t suggest asking the manager, (I don’t like chocolate (allergies). Again the service was very slow, which was surprising since the restaurant didn’t open until 3:30 and the restaurant was not crowed, 3 other tables of two people.
Took a 9 pm reservation and they close at 9, we were rushed…
Came here for birthday. I added this to the special notes in my reservation and there was no comment to my wife about her birthday. Server was nice but short. Asked for a pomegranate martini and was told they could not make it so got a cosmo instead. Took around 30 minutes to get our drinks and was told the bar was busy and it was not expected. I would think a restaurant of this caliber would be able to handle a busy bar and get drinks to customers quicker than 30 minutes. I ordered the steak with mushrooms and it was very good. Asked about Brussel sprouts and server seemed to not know what was in them other than balsamic vinegar. Lobster bisque and clam chowder were good. Desserts were limited to two options compared to the several that were on the menu. For the price we paid, it did not match the service and experience that I expected. Everyone working there seemed frazzled and busser was very loud abrupt when picking up dishes. We eat out a lot and are generally optimistic and lenient in our opinions and thoughts, and are respectful and nice in our interactions with the staff, but this was very disappointing. Also, we ate at 5:30 on a Wednesday. There was also a couple next to us who appeared to have been waiting for service and spoke to the manger/hostess before getting any food and left the restaurant. We will not be returning.
I brought both my sisters to this restaurant for their birthdays. The service and food was top of the line. I would recommend this place over and over again!
The service was absolutely impeccable and the food was delicious.
Even though we had a 7 pm reservation and we arrived ten minutes prior to that, they still made us wait over 20 minutes for our table. We were not happy with that. Also, our server brought us bread but forgot the silverware and plates and we had to remind him.
Food was amazi g service was top notch
My husband and I looked forward to a good seafood night out. We loved McCormick’s. We went there. I ordered sea bass. The fish was very fresh. But it was undercooked and lukewarm. They took it back and reheated. The service was under par, not like before. The waiter was hard to find, not sure if this is related to Covid. We really wanted to like it. But for over $150 for the meal, it’s disappointing.
The environment is nice, off the local highway, tucked in to a quiet mall and overlook a pond.
It was quite and nice but the seating was dirty. Our drinks were good. The appetizer was ok little pricey for four small shrimps. The salad was very good my wife’s soup was very good too. When my dinner came out my very small 6oz filet was dry and way over cooked. I asked for medium rare but it was crispy on the outside and gray on the inside with no pink at all. The shrimp on my plate were very fishy and tough. The vegetables on my plate were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. I’m sorry but for a $200+ meal me and my wife will not be going back. Hope this honest review helps. Thank you
Sat down at 7:50. Took a while to order. Food showed up at 9:10. Took forever to get wine, food, dessert. Server can’t get a table of 5 and table of 10 or 12, back to back.
The experience was fine. Pretty sure they were short on wait staff. But every place is like that these days. All good.
Great patio, great seafood
Everything I wanted to order was out. Hardly any seafood. We were celebrating an anniversary and it was such a disappointment
Service was attentive, food was well made and flavorful. Would definitely return.
Waiter seemed preoccupied and thus not attentive - we had to ask another waiter for water and ask flag our own waiter for more water; then he seemed, although polite (used please and thank you), he was short with us. Perhaps it was a bad day for but we left feeling like we were bothering him with our wants/needs. I typically leave at least a 20% tip but this time I left like a 10 % tip because of my experience. The food was actually not good. Menu description sounded delicious but the flavor was a let down.
Amazing service from Steven and a delicious meal! Everything was fine perfect from cocktails to appetizers, entrees and dessert. My filet was so tender a butter knife was perfect to cut through! Highly recommend the lobster bites and ahi tuna appetizers. First time here and we will return!!
Our server Ian did a great job. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided great service.
This was our first post-pandemic dinner out and we were celebrating a birthday. We were there early so it was very quiet. It was a good reminder of how nice it can be to dine out
Appetizers were cold and the service was horrible.
A great dining experience and the drinks were amazing! My date and I had a great time.
655 entered, greeted and seated
710 water and bread basket provided. stated to wife.."with the shortage of restaurant employees let's make all choices from appetizer to dessert so we can make it easier" We were very aware of of the shortage of restaurant personnel - expected abnormal service.
715 couple adjacent to us seated still haven't been visited by a server,
720 couple adjacent to us giving drink and appetizer order still haven't been visited.
725 we walk out tired of being ignored.
726 wife talks to maitre d' and GM, explains our situation. I walk out. Apologies offered, "we'll make it right" stated by GM.
727 pull out of parking lot.
You just lost a customer, A customer who was understanding of the labor problem and was willing to be patient but will not be ignored.
Great food great service and great cocktails!
Only problem we had was we sat at our table for 30 min before anyone came over to help us and that was after we notified the hostess. After that everything was wonderful. The food was lovely and I would definitely go back again.
The chopped salad with grilled chicken with very good and the portion was large. Although the claim chowder was cold, the server did bring it back hot.
