Food, service and atmosphere was great. We will be back !!
Came here for my Girlfriends Birthday, I was hoping to have the Menu with her name on it & Happy 60th Birthday but I guess I had to call the place instead of putting it on Open Table website. Otherwise been here many time our waitress was great, very friendly, will be back for our next special event.
My husband and I went to McCormick & Schmick’s in Oak Brook, it was our 1st time there. The food was DELICIOUS! Our server Joe was very attentive and friendly! We will definitely be back!
If you like seafood, this is the place to go. I had the Jake's Bouillabaisse and my wife had the Salmon. Both were good choices. We added the Wild Mushrooms and Mashed Potato which rounded out our meals. Our server, Terrance did a great job with suggestions and our order. There was a special deal with my Bouillabaisse that the manager, Ian, help out with.
Nice lunch with my 16 year old. The only drawback was that you could not get a filet larger than 8 oz, but the food was good as was the service.
Couldn’t use points
Wrong entree brought
We unfortunately had to wait nearly 45 minutes before our table was ready for our 8:30 pm reservation. Once we were seated, it was felt as though the server was trying to rush us through our dinner and empty our table.
Our food was however, very good!
We will most likely not be returning again.
We arrived for our reservation exactly on time and there was a crowd. It took about 8 minutes to be checked in by the host, who was walking around and calling out names of other people who were on the list. It was only after we had checked in that we were told they were running behind and it would be about a 30 minute wait. I would expect to hear something like this if we were walking in without a reservation. But the purpose behind making a reservation is that there is an expectation that a table will be held in anticipation of our arrival. We waited by the bar and had 2 drinks which totalled over $30. We were finally seated almost an hour later. Unlike other reviews, our meal was actually very good. I had the two lobster tails and mashed potatoes and my husband had the filet mignon and lobster tail Valentine special. For our appetizers I had the lobster bisque soup and he had the New England clam chowder. I never saw New England clam chowder like his before and I did not like the taste of it but the lobster bisque was exceptional. The filet mignon was cooked to order and was done right. The lobster tails were huge and perfect except for needing a little bit of salt. Surprisingly, the entrees came out extremely fast. The waiter forgot part of our order and billed us for it. After calling the error to his attention, he did make the adjustment and comped us our sodas. Our bill totalled over $140 for 2 people. Overall, we walked away disappointed with the experience and we would not likely visit again.
Made reservations for a birthday and got caught in Valentine’s Day traffic. The restaurant was totally under siege. One hour wait past our reservation but that’s not typical. The bartenders actively avoided eye contact for 30 minutes while I was seated at the bar! That said, once we were seated, service and the meal was flawless. Other than perhaps some training in efficiency for the bartenders, it’s run perfectly
Had a reservation for 7:30pm, showed up and were checked in just after 7:20pm. We were not seated until around 8:10pm. Server was polite and attentive, however they seemed stressed and restaraunt seemed understaffed. Food was good. Overall could have been much better, perhaps just an off day cause of valentines day.
Food was good. Service was good. Wait was quite long. Other than that it was good.
Even though we had a reservation at 7pm we didn’t get seated until 8 pm. It was inconvenient since I needed to eat before 8 pm.
The food was excellent and the service was good. It was very busy but all food was good
Sat in a bad chair when we got to the table. Waited over 20 minutes for drinks. Steak was ordered medium and served rare. Side of mushrooms did not come out with the rest of the food. Ordered after dinner drinks that took over 15 minutes to come out. Too many problems for one evening.
My Salmon was dry and overlooked. My husband liked his steak.
Good place for Valentine’s Day dinner.
I understand it was busy but waiter was never to be found! Had to ask different waiter every time for something. Also asked for to-go boxes he never even boxed it for us like other tables did.. oh wel.....
We waited for over 45 minutes past our reservation. Service was very slow. Food was just ok.
Valentines Day! Long wait but we’ll worth food was excellent!!
Excellent atmosphere and service Definitely will return soon
the restaurant was running far behind on all reservations. we stood in a packed area with no room to move because so many people were waiting. we ended up not getting seated until 45 minutes after our reservation time. the food was great, but not sure it was worth waiting as long as we did WITH a reservation
Made reservations for Valentines Day at 8 pm. Walked in 5 min before our reservation and couldn’t even walk into the restaurant because there were so many people waiting to be seated. All of those people had reservations! The line to check in was about 40 minutes and another 30-40 min to get seated with reservations. We walked out at 8:20 and weren’t even close to check in. Very disappointed. I understand people take longer to eat and hang out on holidays but as a restaurant being in business should know that and avoid overbooking by that much.
Food was good and our server was courteous and helpful. Low stars are due to the fact that we had a 7:15pm reservation and were not seated until 8:05pm. They seemed understaffed and unorganized.
We went there for Valentine's Day. The wait was unreal. Even though we have a reservation they could not seat us on time. In fact they were 45 minutes late. Service was obviously slow. People were waiting in hallways and doorway. Food was good as usual. They shouldn't have overbooked so much.
I was quite disappointed with the meal. A mediocre restaurant with high end prices. I have no plans on returning and would not recommend this place.
As per my Open Table suggestions, we got the booth and location I requested.
Had 6 pm reservations wasn’t seated until 6:30. Probably will not come as often in the future.
Seafood platter was awesome..
Main dinning room was very loud... luckily we got seating in a side room which was not load and very nice.
We will be returning!
Valentine’s Day date. Service was amazing and the food was exceptional. Always love coming here.
The food was great, and I believe the price is fair for what you get. The seafood is quite impressive for Illinois as well.
Food, staff, ambience, value were all excellent! We will return soon and highly recommend this restaurant.
It was great. We got seated right away for our 4:30 reservation. Server seemed a little off kilter. Steak was a bit grisly, but had excellent flavor.
My husband and I visited for the first time. The experience was not what I expected. The hostess didn’t seem to thrilled about welcoming us to the facility. It was really cold out and the hostess was seating people by the front door I’m not sure if it was for convenience or what but there was plenty of seats away from the door, next the server came to the table. He introduced himself and started babbling things from the menu, seeing as how this was our first visit of course we asked “what would you recommend?” Let’s just say he was no help at all.I would recommend as well as visit again. We ordered the steaks. The Rib Eye Bone in as well as the New York Strip. They was cooked to perfection. If you order extra sides be aware that the serving size is for 1.
I received a bouillabaisse e-mail offer for Landry,s Select members but when I did not see it on the menu I asked and was told it was not available on a Wednesday.
When I returned home, I checked the e-mail and it clearly stated it was available Sunday through Thursday in February
WE WENT FOR LUNCH SO THERE WASN'T A BIG CROWD. IT WAS QUIET AND UNRUSHED. THE SERVICE WAS ABSOLUTELY GREAT AND THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT.
My rating for McCormick & Schmick is a mixed bag. The food we had was very delicious. However, I was not happy with the waiter we had. First of all, when we were presented the menus, we were not told of any items that were not available. When the waiter first came by, we told him we were thinking of ordering a bottle of wine. However, since my wife decided to order steak and I fish, I decided to have a beer, and my wife water. The waiter looked disappointed. Then, the fish I ordered, I was told, was not available. I asked the waiter for more time. When he came back, the second fish I ordered, I learned, was also not available. This should have been communicated up front. My wife ordered the beef medallions. The waiter strongly discouraged her from ordering that item, and suggested that she upgrade her order to a filet. I wasn't sure if his comments were legitimate or he was trying to upsell us. (If the medallions were not good, why have them on the menu?). After taking our order, we didn't see him for about 10 minutes. When we did, my wife flagged him down and asked if we get bread before dinner (we do). After dinner, he pushed us to get desserts - which we were not interested in.
We have not had any of these issues in the past, so I am assuming that either the waiter was having a bad day, or he was disappointed that business was slow that night (Tuesday).
The bartender was amazing he did a phenomenal job presenting the new bubbles and pearls cocktail!
