This was on Father's day at the Oakbrook location:
We had to wait about 30 mins even though we had a reservation and then another 20 once we got seated. The food was good -they ran out of the NY strip and ribeye so we ended up getting the center cut filet mignon , as well as blackened whitefish and salmon pesto rigatoni (which was our favorite). Overall food was decent, service was poor.
We were seated a half hour later than our reservation time. It was a busy Father's Day but I think that would be the norm and the restaurant should take that into account when accepting reservations. Once seated, the service was fine and the food was excellent as always.
Father’s Day Disaster! One of the biggest restaurant nights, and first of all , they were soooo slow. 30 min wait WITH reservations, and almost 2 hours to get our food. Shockingly, as early as 6pm, they were out of Prime Rib and Walleye, two staples. Our seafood was good, once it finally arrived, but our veggies were so raw that you couldn’t even chew the beans. By the time we were able to tell our waitress , dinner was over. Then, for dessert, which they were comping us for waiting 2 hours, they were out of 3 of the favs on the menu so we finally settled on choice 4 , and they actually accidentally served cold coffee. So dissapointing, as we chose this for a special occasion. We heard they were bought out by new owners, and obviously they aren’t maintaining the same quality or prep.
We visited on Father's Day. Understandably, the restaurant was busy on a holiday, but we had to wait 45 minutes past our reservation time. The restaurant was understaffed and struggling to stay on schedule.
Waited an hour for service. Table next to us waited 3 hours for their main entree to come out.
Reservation for 5:30 not seated until 6:30 didn't get our food until nearly 8 I asked for a to go container for my soup and was given the cardboard CONTAINER smh instead of a bowl. Very disappointed waiter was ok nice enough but could barely find him I was treating my husband for father's day and he was so disappointed. When food finally came salmon was dry. Just not a good experience I won't be back
I was not happy with the food and it wasn't our server (Ian) fault. 2 out of the three steaks were cooked wrong and the fries that were served with the shrimp platter were too salty. The sad thing is that almost everybody there on Father's Day returned their food because it was not cooked right. The servers should not be held accountable for what the cooks messed up and if there is a large party there should be at least 2 servers for that party because its so much for one server to handle just a suggestion ( I witnessed this Sunday one server trying to handle a party of 20). Our server felt so bad but we let him know that we didn't blame him because he was not the one doing the cooking so I hope he was not reprimanded for what the cooks did.
The food at M&S has always been great on many occasions. However, the mashed potatoes were very watery with no flavor on Fathers Day.
Waited an hour to get Our drinks and another 2 hours before our meal arrived!!!!!
The food was absolutely delicious! It just took forever for it to come. No, it was NOT crowded 🤦🏾♀️
Our waiter was the slowest ever.
This wasn’t my first visit to McCormick and Schmick’s but this time it was different and not so much in a good way. My husband, daughter and I came here for lunch on Father’s Day. It took a long time for us to get bread for the table and then even longer for our appetizer. The entree order was even longer. We understand that it was a busy time but it took way too long for an appetizer of coconut shrimp and bread which is standard to be dropped at the table upon us being greeted by the server. Our daughter’s food came out first because I am sure the server could sense she was getting pretty restless. Our server apologized for the long wait, which we don’t fault her for. We just think that the staff were unprepared for the busy lunch rush.
We have always enjoyed M&S in several locations. We frequent Oak Brook but for some reason this past Saturday was a major disappointment. The food was very good and our server was great, it seems he had no cooperation with kitchen and bar. We waited several minutes for two of our drinks and another 10 minutes for the others at that point the hostess came over and told us they could not even make the drinks. Hopefully it was a number of people having a bad night. Looking forward to our next visit with better results.
Great atmosphere for a special occasion. We had a great experience there
Food and service was excellent! Will definitely be returning!
Service, food and sitting by the lake was delightful. I reconnected with a colleague and we enjoyed the ambiance and scenery/
Food was amazing!!!! And the price was unbeatable! However our server was rushing us and was incredibly awkward. Thankfully the food was delicious.
Have eaten at several of their restaurants over the years and this one many times but not for a while. The fish special was not edible. This is the first time in many years that I had to send it back. Replacement was ok. My partner’s was marginal. Vegetables were not as posted. High cost for a very poor meal. No offset to the bill was offered. Will never go back.
I ordered the Lobster Cobb Salad tower because my boss ordered it at the downtown location. His came out stacked and it looked good. My salad came out not as a tower, which was disappointing. The lobster bisque was very salty. The service was slow and there were not a lot of customers there at 6:30 on a Saturday night. We spent close to $100 for two people, without drinks.
Service was excellent, risotto was bit overlooked plus was an upcharge to Lobster. Otherwise it was a great evening celebrating my husband's birthday.
We both had seafood pastas (different variations) and the food was excellent. We appreciate the complimentary birthday dessert too. We simply love the ambiance dining here whether it's indoor, outdoor or in the bar area. We had a nice waitress, but Jake is still the best of all the waitstaff here!
Very good always enjoy M& S. Service and food excellent
The restaurant always provides a good meal. Nice service. Oysters are always good.
Food was not up to the standard for the price that is charged. We tried the Tuna tartare and Shrimp as starters . Sea Bass, Halibut , Sea Food trio as main course. Would not recommend. Better option for the price is Catch 35 or Seasons 52 for same price range
The food was fantastic, great service and a wonderful experience
Seems something is going on with Landry. They would not accept my reward card for points. We spent over $100 and got no points. they gave us $10% off our bill. We had received an email telling us to come and get some points and then they don't give them to us. I say this is false advertising to get people in.
Several mistakes were made with the food brought to our table. It didn't match what we ordered. The waiter said that he incorrectly keyed in our order. We were given the small plate order for one dish which should have been at the smaller plate price but charged the full price of the full order even when the waiter said he would bring the missing entree components at no charge.
For the price I don’t believe the food is that great.
Great food, excellent customer service, outstanding ambiance and affordable prices. This is one of my favorite restaurants.
Took a party of 6 and all were thrilled with their food- 4 had rib eye steaks cooked pergectly to their requests. Two had scallops that came over a crispy hash brown potato and crab patty- lovely. Desserts were also good.
Service was spotty, and we several times had to make an effort to find our waiter, including trying to get drinks replenished and our check at the end.
Sarah was amazing server
Excellent service for veterans on Memorial Day. Thanjpk you!
Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food is outstanding. The cold seafood platter is the best I have ever had. Really enjoyed.
This was our first time visiting & the food was excellent & the service was efficient & professional. Definitely will visit again soon. Thank you.
We arrived at 1:15 on a Sunday afternoon. There was no one at the front desk to greet us and we had to wait several minutes to see someone. there were only 2 tables occupied in the whole restaurant when we arrived. It took about 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us at the table. It took 40 minutes to get our salad. It took an hour and 15 minutes before I searched for the manager and then 10 more minutes to get our food. One hour and 25 minutes is too long to wait for a meal in an empty restaurant. In what I thought was an upscale restaurant, the rock music was a poor choice for a Sunday afternoon dinner. The manager did give us 20% off. The food was average.
Our dinner was excellent and well-served. Never has been disappointed with the restaurant.
Everything in what we looked for in an evening out.
Always good, the stuffed shrimp was a little soggy though. Everything else was perfect. Our favorite server Chris is wonderful.
The whole evening was average. For the price, we could have gone elsewhere and ate better food. With so many restaurant choices in our area, I don’t think I’ll go back. The complimentary dessert for our graduation celebration was kind.
My wife and I enjoyed our dinner and the waitress was not as attentive as we would have liked. But we enjoyed our meal. However, We asked three times for an ice bucket for our wine. It finally came. But the most disturbing thing was a diner guest near our table was carrying a concealed weapon (handgun). Not so concealed as we saw it sticking out of his shirt. I do not think any restaurant that serves liquor should allow anyone to carry a weapon in the restaurant.
One person in our group ordered the pretzel crusted walleye but received pretzel crusted white fish. She said it didn’t taste like walleye so asked she asked the server and she said it was. Received the bill and in fact it was white fish . Very disappointing
