My husband and I went out for Valentine’s Day. We had 8:00pm reservations and arrived about 7:55pm. We were told they were running about 25-3mina behind on reservations. We were not seated until 8:55pm and then sat at our table without being waited on until after 9:00pm. Food came out fast and was good. Sangria was delicious but the wait was absolutely ridiculous, especially since we had a reservation.
Had a reservation and they were running 30 mins behind. There was no compensation made for people that had to wait well beyond their reservation time.
For $10, the side salads were small and the romaine had brown edges.
Disappointing should have gone to outback fish not fresh strip steak paper thin
Evening was good...server was great...Strawberry Margarita was AMAZING!!!
I was very surprised. The service was not very good at all. Our table was by the door so we were freezing and the food for the price was below average. Pretty disappointing considering it was Valentine's Day & we could have chosen 20 other places. Not sure if the one in Chicago is the same nut this location needs to step it up.
Service was fine, server spoke too fast & was hard to understand.
Food was slightly over priced, everything is a la carte
For a Tuesday evening with a 95% empty restaurant, the service by your extremely young staff was beyond awful. Server would disappear for 10-15 minutes at a time. Drinks took 20 minutes. Same for soup. Then the entrees showed up soon after and had clearly been under a heat lamp. That doesn’t make for a happy fish dish.... Food was entirely under seasoned all around. While the bisque was a salt lick.
I mentioned the “youth” of our server in regard to inexperience in how to interact with customers, as well as demeanor in things such as delivering food. You don’t need a shtick at a place that wants to be a high end restaurant.
Will not go back. So many better seafood options in the area in same price realm but with infinitely better quality and service.
Delicious food and great selection of outstanding seafood choices. For an appetizer we had muscles which were delicious and spicy. My husband had the blackened Cobia. I had the sea bass and it was excellent. Ian was a great waiter!
We dined on a Sunday evening starting around 5:30 PM. It was our first visit to this location. We elected to sit and dine in the nicely appointed bar area. There was hardly anyone in the whole restaurant when we arrived and we marked that off to our early dining time. The bar server/wait person was attentive and did a nice job taking care of us. The drinks were very good and the fish entrees we ordered...stuffed Salmon and Cobia... were outstanding. Salads were likewise very good. No bread or rolls of any kind were offered at any time. And we had to ask for silverware and napkins when our salads arrived. There was a lack of attentiveness by the staff to some of the necessary details despite the sparse crowd. After we finished our leisurely dinner we noted no one else had come into the bar area to dine and/or drink. As we left, we noted that only a few tables in the main dining area that we could see were occupied.
Given the outstanding nature and quality of our meals, we were somewhat perplexed by the sparse crowd during our visit. More patrons would have contributed positively to the ambiance and would have helped to liven up the atmosphere and enhance the dining experiences for everyone.
All things considered, we will definitely consider returning to dine again. The sparse crowd we experienced may well have been a "one-off" occurrence.
Their New Orleans style soup was a little too spicy. Grits could have been upgraded with parmesan cheese. Coconut shrimp was very good. Service was a bit slower than we would have liked.
Our service was the worst ever
Water bread took forever!!!
Then our drinks almost never come
Food made up for horrible service
The food was fantastic. I wanted to order the mahi mahi but they ran out.
Everything took a very long time. We had reservations for 7:30 but got there early to have a drink. We didn’t get seated until 8:15.
After dinner we ordered the apple pie with cinnamon ice cream that took almost 20 minutes and the cinnamon ice cream was vanilla ice cream.
By the time we finished it was9:45
We arrived a half hour early for our 7pm reservation and were told that it would be closer to 7 before they sat us, understandable. Around 7:15 I asked the manager if he had any idea how much longer because my kids we hungry. He replied "when people leave then tables open up". They ended up seating my wife, 4 small kids and I at 7:30. We ordered the kids meals right away because they were starving and appetizers for my wife and I. First the fried calamari came and it was terrible and cold. Then 6 raw oysters came out 45 min after we ordered it and they were scary to look at. We waited for an hour and the kids food never came out despite the manager telling us he moved our ticket to the front of the line. At 8:50 our waiter and manager were nowhere to be found so we just got up and walked out. There was at least one other group that we talked to and they did the same thing.
Had a great time - good food, excellent service!
Disappointed in the meal we had on Friday and won't be returning. Service was barely average, quite slow and with very long waits for drinks, appetizer. It was 5:30 and not busy - no one waiting and empty tables when we arrived. Food was mediocre, at best. Desserts were excellent but didn't save the experience for us.
My Husbands Birthday ... nice time celebrating him. The Shrimp Kisses are his favorite there, but they’re significantly smaller but at the same price than they once were - they need to go back to the same large shrimp!
No customer should sit after being greeted and seated by the Hostess, for more than a couple of seconds. We sat for about 5 minutes. The service was ok after that - had to request refills - but otherwise decent. Not our greatest experience, but it felt like the young man was trying. We prefer outstanding service, then leave and outstanding tip ... we have just over 20% last night, but it would have been greater had the all around service measures up to that. Food for thought ... pun intended!
The food was good, our service wasn’t the best. Our server wasn’t very personable.
service fine, dessert ok- chocolate “ cream puff” would have better warm, choices for restaurant week nothing special- will not return
Always like M&S. Food is good and help is pleasant.
We were excited to try a new place as we usually go to Wildfire (which never disappoints). Sadly, the best part of the night was the conversation with our Uber driver on the way there. To sum it up (in order), despite our waitress initially stating she had 6 years experience at McCormick and Schmick's, she was not well versed with the menu, especially with the oyster and tawny selection, she stated the bartenders were backed up (even though the bar area and other seating areas were empty) so our drinks were delayed, she accidentally dropped a plate on my wife's side of the table (didn't apologize) and her overall attitude was sub par adding to our bad experience. We won't be coming back and will continue to take our business elsewhere. Such a bummer as it could have been a great experience.
We waited 10 minutes for a waiter to greet us and take our drink order and then proceeded to wait 25 minutes for the drinks. The rest of the service was so slow! Our party of 4 took almost 4 hours to eat dinner with no dessert. I don’t know what the problem was but it appeared to be widespread in the restaurant.
We were a group of 12, for a family dinner.
Service was slow.
First time experience for the Chicago Restaurant week and it was a nice one. We went at lunch time which was not that busy which wondered why the wait was longer than it should. I wish the waiting would not be too long if it was less wait the experience would have been much better
Our server was aww, but food not good for the money we payed- calamari no taste, sea bass undercooked .Dessert good.
Our food was fantastic, however it was very cold in the restaurant.
Great atmosphere, the food was great👍🏾And the service was outstanding. I purposed that night and everything was great.
Good food. Server was not very knowledgeable
The service and food were great. Definitely will visit again.
Some of the best seafood ever!!! Servicer was great, explaining dishes and options, etc.. It was a very enjoyable evening!
Great place for seafood. Everything is the best quality
The service was prompt and our server was very knowledgeable. The food was excellent, a tad pricey but very worth it for the occasion.
Great food, great experience!
Service was great. A little pricey but I suppose this is in line with fine dining and they have great happy hour specials!
Food was delicious, perfect place for a quiet dinner out.
Slightly disappointed in this Landry's restaurant. I've had better food & service elsewhere. There was no wow factor about the food and the service was mediocre. For the price, there are better restaurants!
Food was delicious.
Our server Nicole was outstanding.
Great food and service. Chilean sea bass is the best.
Food was fantastic but the smell from the frozen sewer pipes was intolerable. They experience these every year on really cold days. I will not be going back during the winter. They should have it at least done something to try to mask the smell
