My husband and I were having a parents night out to celebrate 1 month of marriage. We had a wonderful date, great food and wine when we got it but a extremely slow service.
The service was amazing. Our waitress was great. It was my fiance's birthday, he got a free birthday treat. The Salmon was very bland but the waitress took it back with no issues. However I tried to be safe and order fried shrimp and fries, not a good idea it had no flavor. I didn't want to complain so I just took it home but when I got the bill it was only worth half of what I paid for it.
We came on a very busy night. The drinks that we ordered when we were first seated did not come to our table until our appetizers were served, about 20 minutes after we arrived. Our waitress did not write down our order, and forgot to add a side of mashed potatoes to my wife's meal. It did not come until she was finished eating, so we asked to have it removed from the bill. We also ordered a side of asparagus to share, but were not informed that our meals already came with asparagus when we ordered, so we asked the waitress to take the extra side back and to remove it from the bill. Unfortunately, when the bill came, we still needed to send it back to have the extra side of asparagus removed.
This was not a horrible experience. Our steaks were great and we split my order of mashed potatoes, which was more than enough for both of us. The fried calamari appetizer was perfect, and we were surprised by the addition of fried artichoke hearts (which my wife loves) and fried jalapenos.
I think that the restaurant was overwhelmed by an extremely busy night, on the warmest day of the year so far. And our waitress was a bit inexperienced for such a busy dinner rush. I'm sure we will be back, but not on a busy Saturday night again.
We arrive and we’re seated on time. Once seated we placed our orders and until the entree’s came out it was a good experience. I had ordered a side of sautéed spinach which did not come out with our order. I had to speak to the server and the spinach finally came out as we were finishing our meals which we had no desire for it at that time. Otherwise this was a pleasant experience with good food.
food was subpar
service was slow
They were able to accommodate the birthday party size from 6 to 7 at the last minute without any problems. The service was great with a wide variety of menu selections. The shrimp/bacon appetizer was an outstanding recommendation by the waiter. Would highly recommend to others.
Had an awesome waitress Sunny and she was so helpful - I was there just having a nice dinner with my kids and we were able to just leisurely eat and converse - I really enjoyed the experience
I made a last minute reservation and they were able to accommodate the time I wanted. The food was excellent and service was world-class. I had dinner with my mother and she really enjoyed every bit of our experience. I will return again very soon.
Great dining! I will continue to visit this location.
Very pricey for a very mediocre meal. Very noisy and difficult to hear everyone at a round table. Requested table near the water and we were seated smack in the center of the restaurant traffic pattern and commotion near the kitchen.
Good food great ambiance. Only issue was an over the top sales pitch for their rewards card. Got it by the bartender and the waiter. Not sure why a person has to pay $25 to join. Rediculous
Family celebrated Dad’s 92nd birthday lunch. Server Mayisha (sp) was wonderful and attentive. Menus were personalized with happy 92nd birthday on top (nice momento). Food was good~several relatives commented that the chef must be new because the food tasted better than previous visit last year. Overall great family dining experience that everyone enjoyed!
My family and I went for dinner on Easter. We had a reservation and there was not a wait. The food was delicious and the service was great.
Server and Manager were great. It was Easter but the restaurant was about half full when we arrived. We were a party of two. Shortly after being seated, a party of six was seated close to us. Our order was taken in a timely manner with the party of six placing their order shortly after. Our appetizer and cocktails were served in about 10 min. After another 30 min had passed, the server said the kitchen was backed up and our order would be out as soon as possible. A few minutes later the party of six was receiving their entrees (different server) before ours. A short time later a manager stopped by and reiterated that the kitchen was backed up. It was another 15 minutes or so before our entrees were served. It didn’t make sense that the party of six received their orders faster if the kitchen was backed up.
Made a reservation for Easter dinner and we were about 10 mins late, however the host's still sat us at a window table which was great. We ordered soup, main-course and dessert and the service along with the food was good.
My wife did find a hair in her meal and we bought it up to the attention of our waiter - who apologized sincerely and quickly placed another order for her which came out really fast.
We did notice one of the mangers walking around checking on guest but they never made to our table - but that was cool, no worries. We would definitely go back - maybe in the early summer so we can try eating out on the patio...
We went for Easter brunch. It was nice. Service was great. Food was over-sauced and not remarkable otherwise.
I love M&S and I visit regularly. I’ve also introduced several people to the restaurant. I’ve said before that this location is hit or miss. When things go wrong, it’s disappointing. This Easter brunch was soured by several eggshells (large) in my crab Benedict entree. The manager was very responsive and quickly brought out a different entree...with hair in it! The second entree was replaced but by then, I was over the whole ordeal and had the meal boxed to go. When I got home, I discovered shells all through the crab cake. I’ve never had an experience as bizarre as this in all of my visits to M&S...I’ve dined at several locations from Georgia to California. Bizarre!
Always have a good experience at M&S! Food is good & the location is ideal. Love looking st the water while enjoying dinner.
Service was exceptional, but the grits were a major disappointment.
The food was greasy and overcooked.
Loved the restaurant. A festive and great atmosphere for a birthday celebration and reunion of sorts for about 10 people. My only (minor) complaint was the lighting. Many people using their cell phone flashlights to read the menu. But a great place for a meal. Thank you!
Celebrating a friend's birthday. They customized her menu which was a very special touch!
Warm, eloquent, cozy.
Service was outstanding! Entrees were lukewarm!
I really enjoyed myself although I had to wait 45 mins due to the staff inability to locate my reservation. Upon arrival I mentioned I reserved a table but they were unable to locate the reservation in their computer. They lost a star for that specific reason.
Food was excellent . Service was great. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. Would definitely return.
The Restaurant is very nice. Food was amazing. Server was professional and helpful. Alittle on the pricey side.
The atmosphere for two of us was noisy! Wasn't ideal for a date! The server was good but was more focused on his job versus the customer. The food was ok. Wife's crab soup w/lobster was very spicy and too me was more vegetable soup. The appetizers was probably better overall..
Great customer service from the hostesses. Food came out quickly and was delicious.
Probably didn't help that we were there on St Patrick's Day. They had a DJ playing so the restaurant was very loud, could barely hear myself talk. Food was incredible! So delicious! Plan on going there again, hopefully when it's a little quieter.
Knew M&S from Industry Reputation. Part Of Landry's, well known dinner house, etc., etc.
It was St. Patrick's day, this restaurant and an the complex it was part of was just jumping. Last minute dinner reservation was honored within 15 minutes, score 1. Service was very prompt, and attentive. Score another point. new England clam chowder, served tepid, not hot, and frankly needed a LOT of help, more spice and flavor. Minus 1. My sesame crusted Tuna was nice, but flavorless. as was the baby bok choy it was served with. The entire plated cold have enjoyed some significant Asian flavors, such as ginger, etc. My wife had the fish and Chips, this one was good. Dessert - we shared a "chocolate bag" - a chocolate shell filled with custard, and then topped with fresh berries. Great idea, custard was again lifeless. the rest was fine however, and it was enjoyed. What KILLED THE NIGHT was the restaurant found it appropriate to engage a DJ spinning dance music in the bar, at a completely unreasonable level. WHY pray tell? just ruined what could have been an otherwise nice meal.....
Usually great food. Not sure worth the price. Service fine.
First time dining here, overall very good variety of food and drinks.
Excellent food, intolerable noise level made conversation difficult if not impossible
The only drawbacks were the ambiance and noise. We were hoping for an upscale, fine dining experience, but instead the music/DJ from the bar (St Patrick’s Day) was incredibly loud. They did turn down the column after a while. But honestly, had I been informed that there was going to be the “dance party” theme and not the usual fine dining, I would’ve gone else where for this reservation.
Great food and service.
We were not allowed to make a substitution on the sides. Server said we could BUT we would have to pay the price for the side listed on the menu. Sauce on the crab cake was cold (not even room temperature). Veggies rest of the meals (crab, and my flounder) were barely room temperature. The server did not know the menu. He described the seasonal vegetable, but we did not get what he said they consisted of. Other things we asked about he had keep running back to ask in the kitcher. Also,, we wanted to order an appetizer, but he said the restaurant was "out of mangoes". A restaurant such as this should not be out of anything at the lunch hour. On the plus side, the flounder was very good as was the crab cake. They would have been better if served warm. The music was very loud -more indicative of a TGI Fridays than a McCormick & Schmicks
There food was good but not so good to over come the rest of our visit. The waiter accidently peed water on my wife and onto her ultra suede coat. Despite her saying it was ok, there was no offer to clean it out correct the situation. We actually cleaned up the spill ourselves. While friendly, the waiter took an extraordinary long time to bring us food and desserts and never asked if we would like a refill on water or drinks. The nose level was unbearable. There two tables next to us were laughing and talking so loudly that it was apparent others were bothered but no one confronted then and asked that they reduced there loudness. We don't go too this restaurant often because this is our typical experience of the other visits as well.
