McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - National Harbor Ratings and Reviews
The filet mignon and crab cake were tasty and the lobster masched potatoes were delicious. The service was just okay, the waitress did not introduce herself or refresh our water. I do not mind paying more for a great meal, but I do expect the service to be superior.
Was expecting something special but was disappointed. The place mats were made of plastic and smelled like stale beer. The service was a bit rushed (entrees came our while we were still eating our starters). The Calamari was good but the Tuna was salty. We had 3 steaks and 1 fish dish. Two of the three steaks were over cooked. Turned out of the be a disappointing chain restaurant experience. Was expecting more.
Seated 30 min late with no apology or courtesy
Staff was poorly trained and inefficient
Kitchen was out of several items and further delayed meal as waiter came back twice with the 86 status
Couldn't remember understand or execute wine order
Vintage switch now wine
I was really hoping for a better dinner experience. I was highly disappointed with the service, but I decided it was probably her first week or so and probably had no experience prior. The food is pretty good, especially the appetizer "shrimp kisses." However, I was served the wrong meal, which is understandable because one was a "wasabi crusted ahi tuna" and the other "sesame crusted ahi tuna" and I ordered it medium. When I received the wrong dish I was told my the waitress that it was correct. However when looking over the menu she realized the mistake. While my boyfriend enjoyed his hot seafood trio, I waited about 20 minutes to get a cold plate. I understand ahi tuna is more seared, but the food had the wrath of being in the refrigerator for hours. I probably will not return because it is way too expensive with subpar service and okay food with small portion. We ended up having to go out to the Fish Market to get more food.
It was Veterans appreciation so I guess you get what you pay for. It was a free meal therefore, I should not have expected excellence. I was however, disappointed. I had high expectations considering it was McCormick and Schmicks...but again "you get what you pay for." The food was cold and the choices were blah (but I can deal with that). It won't stop me from going again but, I won't go when the food is free.
Our group was there for the Veterans Day Dinner. All 3 of us are Veterans. We go to this location every year and this is the first year that I was disappointed with the food. Maybe it’s because it was so late(8:45pm) but they didn’t have any bread to serve any of the tables and the food was too salty for my liking. The server was great although he was a bit pushy with the sales of their rewards card. My husband told him 3 times he wasn’t interested but he took it upon himself to add the charge of 25.00 to our bill and then deducted it at the end.
We will definitely be back as we do every year but I will be smarter to make our reservations for a much earlier time.
Went for their annual Veteran's Day lunch/dinner. Once again, a great menu to choose from and excellent service. Even had a drink and dessert. Made sure to tip the waiter based on full value of the meal and he was worth it. One thing I've always notice about the M$S wait staff, they are never just sitting around or dawdling. They move with purpose and speed - all with a smile on their faces.
Although I had a great time as I usually do at this location I was taken a back with the server assigned to our table for this Veterans day special event meal. I am the 22 year Veteran whom dined with my spouse and teenager who ALL have military id cards. In past years, my 13 y/o son has never been denied the free meal along with his family when we dine during this time. The server explained to me immediately my son would not be included in the celebration meal because the rules stated only spouse. As I refused to argue such a rule that had never been enforced previously I said "ok". The server returned 15 min later and stated he would now include my son in the celebration after stating, "we are now going to include your son as I don't see why he shouldn't celebrate with you"! I don't know whether he was looking for a larger tip or feeling as if he was doing me a favor. Regardless of a free meal or not, my son was always included in the Veterans Day celebration because he was with his family. AND NOT ONCE DID MY SERVER "THANK ME FOR MY SERVICE OR EVEN ASK WHO WAS THE SERVICE PERSON". Very disrespectful. Needless to say, it was a very short night and quick meal.
If the receptionist says there is a long wait, try to reserve on-line; it could save you a few hours. The service was terrific. I enjoyed my dinner (ahi) but the others in my party were not as impressed. Given the location, service, and ambiance, I would recommend this for a special evening or date.
