The waitress did not serve a bread basket until asked. She had no clue as to the Cobia item on the menu, a white fish. We asked for a salad with no cheese, The 10 Way Chop, but it arrived with cheese. The stuffed salmon entree is fabulous.
Dinner was great last night. The food was great and our server Quami was awesome! He had great suggestions, very helpful, knowledgeable, kind, and made the experience so much better.
My wife and I have been going to M&S for years, so on our 10th wedding anniversary we decided to bring our 3 children ages 4,6,&9. I made reservations days in advance and noted that it was our anniversary. I was disappointed in our seating location because it was in the middle section of the restaurant with a half booth and absolutely no view. The service was great. Appetizer arrived in a timely manner as did the salad. The entree’s were severely delayed, which caused my children to become restless. Staff was apologetic for the the delay and the food was good but not the best I’ve had here before. Also, the side of red pepper mash my wife ordered did not come and once we realized it was forgotten it was too late. So we let the server know to remove it from our bill. The desserts were great. Overall I would rate the dining experience 6 out of 10.
Noise level was overwhelming.
Overall excellent - Ahi Tuna appetizer was just a bit disappointing. A lot of window dressing but overall experience was OUTSTANDING!
The server was inattentive and seemed pretty mad that he was there. It took forever to get waited on or get more iced tea. He never smiled. With that, the food was nothing spectacular. It was very disappointing.
I visited M&S for the first time last weekend. The server was great. The food was not very good. The crab cake seemed filled and not pure. The Filet Mignon (ordered medium) was cold and chewy. I was a little surprised having heard such great things about the restaurant. The price including tip was $158. I expected a completely different experience and instead felt like it was perhaps a bad night for the restaurant. Maybe I visited on the wrong day. I do not know if I will return. Please note that the service was great. The main issue really was the food being less than subpar for such a high end restaurant. I don't want anyone to get in trouble for this review. If I visited on an off day and it's not usually what I'm describing, I'd give it a second chance. But for this visit the price and the food we received didn't make sense.
I was expecting this place to be spectacular just because of the name. My fiance chose this place because I've never been and he was proposing to me. We were seated immediately but once seated we waited at least 20 mins. before a waiter even acknowledged us. The customer service was not good at all. The food was delicious but I probably wouldn't go back.
It was our first anniversary and I selected that option on open table half way wishing that there was a special accommodation but there was not.
Great place to entertain friends and familiy. This resturant has a pleasant atmosphere. A little noisy on the inside, but a conversation can still be had. Great customer service from the moment we walked in. A decent menu selection, everyone at our table leaned toward seafood. All of our entrees looked prepared well and recieved no complaints.
Had a nice dinner outside on the patio. The server was very pleasant but the delivery of the food and drinks was a little slow. The prices are just so high for an average shrimp dinner. Drinks were also expensive but that’s national harbor for you.
The service and food was great. We can’t wait to go back again
We had a 6:45 reservation we got seated at 7:05; our table was nice, however from that point things went south. My wife ordered the arugala salad mixed with toasted almonds, goat cheese and raspberry vinaigrette. My wife had to send it back to request the goat cheese!!! They promptly sorted her out. The bread on offer was not appealing at all. When it came to our main course my wifes meal was good!!! However I ordered the Center Cut Filet Mignon 8 oz to be cooked "medium". Needless to say the steak was cooked "well" done. After this was brought the our servers attention he called on the manager to confirm it was over cooked. Immediately the manager apologized for this mishap and offered to get me the correct steak plus give us a complementary dessert to "split" for our inconvenience. Well it took almost 25 minutes to get the new steak. By this time my wife had finished her meal and our experience was ruined. I didn't bring my wife to McCormicks & Schmick's to watch her dine alone!!! Once my meal arrived it was a total waste, they got the steak right but the sides were cold. Given the number of unfortunate events and the failed attempt to "properly compensate" us for a pour performance I could never recommend this establishment again.
The hostess forgot about us within 5 minutes of arrival.. she literally asked who we were within 5 minutes of me checking in for my reservation. She forgot to tell the waiter we were seated and the waiter took long to come. At least that was the waiter’s excuse for his delay. Long time to get my drink and a long time to get the check. Food was okay, lobster bisque was cold and taste was just ok. I was disappointed because there were very good reviews for this place online but I wouldn’t go back
Waiter was wonderful to our large party of 11. Accommodating, friendly and caring to my 89-year old father.
The food and service was good. The only hitch was that the silverware was very dirty for both place setting. The server saw it, apologized and gave both of us new flatware. After thoroughly reviewing it, the new flatware was clean. This was very unsettlingly.
Great atmosphere and excellent food! However, during happy hour they should limit people hold tables to only 30 minutes
The place was filthy dirty, it was just 5 PM on Friday and no one had cleaned the restaurant, Really! I can't imagine how dirty the kitchen was so we didn't stay. One word "Nasty"!
Service was very good. Everything was delicious. Steak was a little over done though. We asked for medium and we pretty much got medium well. Steak was dry.
Eat before you go! After the appetizer, I waited 15 minutes for drinks and 48 minutes for my dinner. The longest dinner I ever had. I wouldn't recommend for the money $$$$ you about to spend.
Great waiter and sitting on patio was splendid. Food was good but not exceptional.
I ordered the Halibut, then later I was informed they were out. OK-Then ordered the pan seared rock fish. What there was of this tiny portion was just edible. It tasted muddy and the skin was flabby. The risotto under was great, the only really tasty part of my meal.
Next- the restaurant was dirty and the women's bathroom had not been attended to. Come on guys -toilet paper -there was none in the stalls.
Made reservations, the noise level inside and the temperature made us ask about outside seating. Had to be put on a waiting list, another 45 minutes. Seated, very dark, no candles or lighting to read menu. Carry out box, laying on ground under table. Appetizer brought out and left without plates or silverware. Bottle of wine, cork broke off inside, brought out open bottle by another server. Long time between seeing server, had to catch her as she ran by for water, bread, or refills. Quick to bring the check. Disappointed, was much better two years ago.
The service and food are always great! The drink list is expansive whether you drink alcohol or not. They have great non alcohol drinks like the Blueberry Palmer. The coconut shrimp appetizer is always a great starter and we have never had an entree we didn't like. Don't forget to finish with a desert! They are fabulous too.
We had a wonderful time, service was wonderful even though the restaurant was extremely busy and the food was very good
Always great service, drinks and food. I love the hostess. She always remembers me.
Staff is accomodating, although service was a very slow. I think our server had tables of bigger groups inside and outside. Maybe a little better job at managing server workload so their tables are serviced timely.
The bar service was slow and distracted from the event. The server and seating was great. We spoke to the "manager" about the bar service.
Though I appreciate the food and the location, the service, noise and smell were not where they needed to be for a place with these prices. I have no complaints of the food, but the other factors could be addressed.
Food made me sick
Restaurant had a huge party inside and used that excuse for the poor service. If you can’t have huge parties without regular customers suffering, don’t book huge parties! My entree lost led like it wasn’t all there, but didn’t want another long wait while they fixed it. Only saving grace was the beautiful sunset (we ate outside)
Other than being very noisy it was a very nice visit. Lawrence was a very good waiter and took great care of us. We arrived toward the end of happy hour and the beginning of a large group and it was very loud. By the time we left it seemed like everyone was speaking much louder to be heard. The food was delicious (pan seared Rockfish).
This spot never disappoints. I recommend it highly.
Great customer service
Yes, however, our request for water view was Not available. Per our reservation request.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Enjoyed it very much and will return soon.
Hostess brought us to 2 dirty tables before finding a clean one however the bread plates were dirty. Waiter was very short with us and food took over an hour. Women’s bathroom was disgraceful. Not impressed for the money we spent.
It was great thank you!
This was a group of Army veterans who served together in Germany in the early 1970’s. The food and the service was outstanding, without exception. We’ be back!
