McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - National Harbor
Book your next event with us
We came for lunch for restaurant week and had a fantastic meal.
Ambiance and service were outstanding. Drinks were Great. Ordered steamed crab legs and they were not steamed completely. Some of the crab legs were still cold when served.
I had a business meeting with my boss, the staff was notified and did a great job of giving us privacy and silent service.
Had friends from out of town join us for dinner, as always your food and service were excellent. Sadly i was really looking forward to sharing the experience of a chocolate bag with our friends but alas Tuesday night seems you were out ... better luck next time. Thank you.
The swordfish was quite dried out...very small portion even for a light lunch.
Service was pleasant but not very crisp.
Food was delicious! We had oysters and lobster bisque for apps, and rockfish, steak and shrimp mac&cheese for entrees. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable. The only negative was the hostess stand/wait. We were not greeted right away, and although we made reservations and tables were empty, they made us wait to be seated. 4 stars. Would definitely eat at M&S again.
Great waterfront view. wonderful food. Waitress Trish was exceptional.
Asparagus was burned but not worth send back the 5 thin stalks we got on each plate.
Had to send the filet stark back x 2 for a steak that was ordered medium well. First time came out rare with a hint of raw looking meat. The second time rare. The third time over cooked. I guess this was the lesson for returning the steak or the chief not wanting a third mishap.
Waitress was nice. Great view of the water. We have had a better experience at this same location.
The pan seared tuna was served in a heavy mayo based sauce that was awful. It was almost like the covered the tuna in flavors to hide how bad the fish was. I sent it back. The bacon wrapped shrimp are a favorite. Steak is good but too thin. I like the 2 inch thick filets and they don’t have them. The chocolate box dessert is great. The salmon stuffed with shrimp and crab was ok. The hot sour dough bread is awesome.
Always enjoy this restaurant. This time was no exception.
We celebrated New Year’s. Everything was delicious.
For New Year's Eve the place was pretty fast on service. Everyone seemed to know where they needed to be and what to do once they got there. Very professional staff. Everyone was smiling with service.
Beautiful location and a very lovely place to take a guest. My had the ahi tuna and I had the scallops. Both were excellent. Our waiter was outstanding. The staff up front were very kind and seated us a few minutes early. Whenever we visit National Harbor, we will be certain to dine at your location.
Did not realize that you were associated with Landry. How do I get get credit for dining at the National Harbor location.
We went for New Year's dinner and were glad to have chosen this restaurant. The food was great and the service was excellent. The view of the National Harbour Wheel and the Potomac River was breath-taking. Glad we chose this restaurant. We had a relaxing time with our loved ones.
excellent staff and food, our 4th New Year's Eve dinner location in a row!
Nye hung with friends. Was nice
On the plus side the food was prepared very well. The surprise chocolate birthday treat with berries, whip cream was very good as my wife said excellent choice.
Everything was absolutely perfect about our evening meal there! Wanting to go back again already!
The food was good, all though the portions could have been larger due to the price. Overall I enjoyed the restaurant and would likely go back...
The service was horribly slow, but the food and view was amazing.
I thought this was a steakhouse, but it's specialty is seafood (as I should've seen via the name).
Brittany was an amazing server. Knowledge of drinks and menu was off the chart!
New Year’s Eve dinner
Best food We’ve had at a restaurant since we’ve been living in the states!
I had never been to this McCormick & Schmick's location before--only the one in Washington, D.C., and the one in DC by far, is much, much better! I think they sat us right by the kitchen, so it felt like we always had servers right by our table, just standing there (in front of our table), or constantly walking back and forth, which is a little bit of a nuisance. And maybe because we were right by the kitchen, we heard a lot of their conversations, which I KNOW they really wouldn't want us hearing. The drinks were VERY GOOD, but the food was subpar :(. I ordered the scallops as my meal, and they were not seasoned! Maybe the chef was doing a lot, and forgot to season my order, but I was truly disappointed in my meal. As we were leaving, one of the servers almost ran into my husband, which she apologized for and said "excuse me", and then immediately after, another server ran into her (like pushed her back a couple steps), and he said nothing! It was disappointing to see the LACK of courtesy, especially for ones fellow employee.
A wonderful Sunday dinner after a day out and about. Recommend having a reservation. Lobster bisque was delightful and McCormick ultimate trio was great entree selection (not to mention the delicious, warm sourdough bread). Was there on my birthday which often gets forgotten being after Christmas - had seen in reviews where they personalized and made it special for bdays, but guess I was forgotten again even though it was included in reservation request.
Our family of 9 people had a wonderful Christmas celebration meal here on 12/30. Everything was perfect, great food, great service (thank you Jimmy), great scenery, welcoming hostesses, and attention to our every need including consideration for a family member in a wheelchair and one with a rollator. Keep up the great work. We will be back.
Had a reservation for 11pm got there at 10:45 and was told the kitchen had just closed. We were still seated but waited 20 minutes before a manager came over and started taking our orders. The food was subpar and rather pricey.
We usually go to the location in Annapolis but my son wanted to go to this location because of the area. The waitress friendly but very slow. Hardly saw her jntil it was almost time to leave. Food was ok. It’s tasted better in the past. Ambiance was lackluster. There was a large party that was VERY LOUD. They need to consider having a party room for those types of engagements. Floor was dirty. Staff at front desk including waiters were mingling very loud. Disappointed. Wont go to this location again. Will go to another restaurant at National Harbor though.
Shrimp kiss appetizer was an excellent start. Enjoyed my steak very much.
Great atmosphere for conversation and getting together.
Everything was ok
The waiter was just Ok
My drink was not that great, told the waiter and was advised oh I can’t take that back
Drinks and dinner were fantastic. I had a great birthday dinner with my family and friends. I had the Bourbon Salmon with spinach, tomato and mashed potatoes. So tasty and flavorful! Definitely plan on coming back to try another dish, and more drinks. I was also brought a great cupcake with ice cream and a candle for my special day. Thanks for making my birthday a great one!
The food is good but for the price you pay bigger portions are expected. This has been the only location I went to and to have a waiter that absolutely pays u no attention is enough for me not to return def to this location.
Service was great, but really felt the food was just ok and for the price, it should be outstanding.
Food took too long. Very average food. Did not served the only female first. Very disappointing experience.
We celebrated my mother's 81st Birthday this evening and our server, Betty, was fantastic - attentive, polite, helpful, and otherwise just fabulous. The filet mignon was "like butter" and the Ahi tuna was the best we've ever had. A beautiful winter evening in a great location made this one of the best experiences of the holidays for us. Thank you M&S! and thank you, Betty!
We were surprised to have a mediocre experience here because we have all eaten at other Landry restaurant group restaurants in the past. I would like to point out that it was the kitchen not the service that was at issue here.
1) we waited an hr for our entrees to come out
2) 2 of the meals had substitutes for the original sides and we were not informed of the substitute until the plates made it to the table
3) one of the fish dishes was overcooked
Our waiter tried to make it right by offering us clam chowder, ahi tuna appetizer to make up for the over cooked fish, and additional beverages. Eventually, the bill was adjusted to comp us one of our appetizers and the manager dropped by to apologize.
We understand that issues come up and sides dishes may need to be substituted. However, we were shocked that whole sale changes were made without our knowledge and that we had to wait for our meals because the original sides "were not ready." We were also disappointed that we were not given the option to pick a side of our choosing until we were presented with our very late to arrive entrees. Further, the option that was switch out was not appetizing to me or my father-in-law. Boiled brussel sprouts mixed with bbq flavored fingerling potatoes and pancetta (we think) just didn't do it for us. Nor did his over done cobia which made for a very unpleasant experience.
Our waitress Casey must of had something else on her mind, a day after Xmas. It took forever for everything we ordered on a Wednesday with more than half of the tables empty. Food wasn't worth the hour and a half to get our entrees. We ordered the 3 lobster tails and they were as big as half of a dollar, 46 bucks. I paid $25 a pound from Costco and it was 10 times the size of all 3 put together. C'mon man! Talk about getting hosed. We had reservations at 5p and had arrangements for 7p somewhere else and didn't get to it on time. Really???
We were charged for extra drinks and if we wouldn't of checked our tab we would of got taken for even more than we were already. If I could give a zero stars for everything I would. The manager just shook his head and said I understand.........not much of a customer service all-star. Assets they are not. More like dead weight. Avoid at all costs, there are better restaurants in the area who care about their clients/guests.
