McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Naples - Mercato Ratings and Reviews
We had not been to McC and S for some time. When it first opened in Mercato we visited and it was not good. That was a couple of years ago. On the spur of the moment we went back on Saturday evening. The improvement was notable and we will return. It is a good mid-range dining experience.
Upon arriving we checked in at the hostess stand, 3 tines before they remembered to seat us. It was busy, but not horribly crowded. Our server only came to the table to deliver our food. The crab cakes delicious, but burnt on the outside and the mahi portion was so small it was an appetizer portion. No one came to check on us so we couldn’t even bring it to anyone’s attention. As we were leaving the hostess asked how everything was and I explained our frustration. After this a manager found us outside and helped some on the bill. No necessary to do that but our visit left a lot to be desired.
This is the LAST time we will go to this restaurant, either here or in Atlanta where we live. Both experiences were horrendous. Last Saturday, we were told we couldn't have bread because it was in the oven and we received it when we received our dinners. By the time our dinners arrived, they were ICE cold. Our waiter disappeared so we began to eat them because we were very hungry. The waiter came over half way through the meal and we told him what had happened. He told me they would make another one for me, but I declined. The manager came over and they gave us a free dessert. Big deal. We had to wait about 20 minutes for that too and we almost left. Never again. I'd rather eat at home. Save yourself time and money and dine elsewhere!
Strictly a C. Nice room, good service, but the food just didn’t measure up. Dry, over cooked shrimp and thin leathery salmon fillets. Over dressed salads. Sides were good, but truthfully that’s not what you expect to shine. It all starts in the kitchen and something is definitely missing here. The Boston outlet is excellent. But the QC here in Naples needs a serious wake up call.
When we arrived for our 8 pm reservation we were told our table wasn’t ready yet. When asked how long it would be they had no idea. We were told to go to the bar and wait. The hostesses were rather rude about it. Stating it was Valentine’s Day and the kitchen was backed up. We went to the bar and then one of the hostesses periodically came thru yelling names because their table was ready. This was very annoying. I think those beeper things would have been much classier. Anyway it was around 8:30 pm when our table was ready. I wasn’t that pleased with the 4 chair table and asked if we could sit in a booth that was available. I got a little push back from the hostess but ultimately was able to sit in the booth. The food and service was nearly perfect from there forward.
The food was very good as always but our waitress, Colleen, was not attentive. We had to ask for water and bread. She didn't return our Landry's card until we asked for it. This is the second time she has waited on us and the next time we go, we will ask not to be seated at her table.
Very attentive waiter named Steve, answered many questions very well. Food was delicious, I had the Chicken Fettechini, my beautiful wife had the 8oz Filet Mignon. Ordered grilled mushrooms and grilled asparagus on the side, just perfect! We celebrated Valentine’s Day with another couple and really enjoyed ourselves.
Took our grandson for a special dinner and our seating request was honored. Our server was very nice and never rushed us.
I ordered a Lobster tower appetizer and got a large lobster Cobb salad so just ate that as an entree as it was really good.
My husbands and grandsons Salmon was best they have ever had. King crab legs were just okay.
Lovely desserts and overall good experience
It was a bad night. When our wine was delivered to our table, one glass was dirty with fingerprints and lipstick. My wife had requested dressing on the side, but it came out on the salad. Both issues, the waitress corrected. When our dinner arrive, we were in converstion and didn't notice the dinners were swapped. She had mine and I had hers. The waitress picked up on this half way through our dinner. Too late to swap. Food was good, just not we asked for.
Very disappointing for the price. We'll think twice before going back. Too many other options.
The night started badly. They put us at the booth farthest from the door. We asked for a table not a booth. I had a bad knee and was using a walker. Bad hostesses. The young man that served n our table was great. Lots of laughs. The food was great. So I'll let you figure it out.
Initially we were annoyed because two tables seated after us were greeted by their server before us. BUT, once our server started with us, he was outstanding. The food was great. We went because it was a birthday celebration and I had a $25 gift card. I would go back again even without the gift card. Their 4 to 6 pm special is outstanding.
Service was slow and food was just ok. The Caesar salad was very dry and flavorless. I had the tuna which was over cooked and not to exciting. We asked for our dessert to go and after waiting for several minutes we gave up and left. Not sure it was worth the time or the money.
Often at Mercato for movie over the years and this was first time at McCormick. It was terrific. Food & service excellent. They had a early diner menu that had excellent offerings at a very reasonable price! Perfect pre-theater or pre-movie. Highly recommend.
