McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Naples - Mercato Ratings and Reviews
Eat there many times, but last Sunday evening had a terrible experience - we had a reservation for a special occasion - the restaurant was empty (only 3 tables) and the service was slow, unprofessional and the bill was wrong... could not find the waiter for the longest time to order additional items.. just a mess.
Hopefully just a bad night..
On Thanksgiving evening we decided to dine at McCormick & Schmick's and found it an excellent choice as everything about the food was just what we expected and have come to appreciate at McCormick & Schmick's . The staff is attentive but not overbearing and not being big turkey fans the other fine dining options of Mahi Mahi and Tuna that we chose were cooked to perfection.
We returned to McCormick's for their Thanksgiving dinner. After trying several other restaurants the last few years, we went back to where we began when we first decided not to cook for our smaller group. McCormick does not disappoint, providing all the traditional foods on a large individual platter plates - just the right amount to make you satisfied and feeling like you celebrated with home cooked food. Service is always wonderful with staff who smile, make you feel like they are glad you are there and bring you your food with perfect timing.
Disappointing shrimp/linguini plate for wife and my sliced filet on spinach lacked a bit of something. Adding asparagus and sauteed minced garlic awakened the wife's plate the next day and put a needed "something" in mine.
Service a bit blah and noise level high, especially metal chair legs on concrete outside.
Will we be going back? No, there are so many outstanding places in the Naples area one need not go for mediocrity at any restaurant.
First of all the server was fine. None of our dissatisfaction was caused by her. We had 6p reservations. Restaurant not crowded. Were given lunch menus and couldn’t understand the limited choices. The server exchanged menus. Ordered bottle of wine, bar backed up, took a long time to get. Asked for uncandied walnuts on side of salad. Got candied walnuts on salad, ordered twin lobster tails. They were truly small and not a bargain at $29 which was what got us back to the restaurant after not dining there for several years. So not a satisfying experience.
Have been to this restaurant several times, this time service was slow, 6 of us ordered a couple of the different desserts on the early diner, and were served all the same dessert without being asked for a choice because they had run out of the others,6:30PM???
Ordered the twin lobster tail special and was very disappointed. The tails were extremely small, overcooked and unremarkable. For $30. dollars, would have expected more that a couple bites per tail. Lobster mashed potatoes were good but not great.
We also had the chopped salad which was swimming in dressing and tasted like it was drenched in preservatives.
We have eaten at this restaurant several times; it's part of the Landry's Select Club. We have had bad experiences with service during busy hours. Due to a schedule requirement, we actually went to dinner at 4:30p. Our server was great, and we finally were pleased with everything. Because we got there early, we were offered the "early bird" menu, which was actually great. Good experience.
Tuna was raw, not rare. Had to be sent back.
One clam chowder never showed up as app. Came with main course after we noted not wanted any longer. Was on bill and had to be removed. Simply grilled grouper over cooked and dry.
Very slow service.
Sorry, will not be back.
Disqppointed that Happy Hour drink prices were unavailable n the restaurant ... Maybe that's why it was empty while Blue Martini rocks...l
Food was served with cold mashed potatoes... Cold!
Waitress didn't have a clue that we ordered from the Sunset Menu & tried to have us order Dessert ....
When time for Bill, waitress was nowhere to be found & had to flag don another wait person to get check ...
Not a good day...
David, the General Manager, ALWAYS goes above-and-beyond to ensure M&S customers have an enjoyable, wonderful and memorable dining experience. He's the greatest!
For Veterans Day the restaurant is extremely generous and offers Veterans a free meal from a special menu...that's awesome and a very kind and considerate gesture to say the least!
We love M&S in Naples, FL and will continue to be loyal customers not only because of the friendly, professional and courteous staff, but because all of the food is sensational and scrumptious...and well worth the drive!
This was a free dinner for us as veterans, & we certainly did appreciate the gesture. We have dined at Mc&S many times & felt the quality of our meal was not up to the regular standard. I had the flounder & found it soaking in butter or oil & my husband had the beef medallions, which he enjoyed but found himself ill during the night & following day. He also ordered a beer that was never delivered. As I said we are grateful & I feel badly using neg. commentary.
