McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - McLean Ratings and Reviews
1st time in this restaurant and gosh. I was so disappointed. The food is excellent. Compliments to the chefs. But the service is horrendous. I literally sat there for 15 mins. Not even water was offered to me. Im not the type that goes and yells at people for service so i kept waiting until finally someone decided to help. The service was not any better after that but you I don't have time to write a book here. What a shame since I really like the food. But you won't see me back.
We were celebrating an anniversary and were disappointed in the food. The calamari appetizer has veggies in it and the the sweet potato slices weren’t cooked. Also the dish wasn’t really seasoned well. It needed salt. Then the spinach that was served with the blackened swordfish was way too salty that I couldn’t eat it. We won’t be going there for awhile. The quality has really gone down hill.
Jerry was our waiter. He was so personable and attentive. He made us feel special and by how he interacted with his other tables I could tell he really goes beyond just getting your order right. Ask for his area if he’s working that day. The food was delicious and plentiful . We were there during their special meal for Veterans. Thank you so much for your support of those who have and do serve in our Armed Forces. We also love their oyster Happy Hour on Wednesday’s.
Thank you for the Veteran's Day meal; such a wonderful thing you do every year.
The one low mark for Ambiance was because our "booth" was directly across from the entry to the kitchen so we observed every entry and exit from the kitchen. Maybe next time the manager/waiter could close the drapes. Thank you again.
I was there for veterans recognition and first want to thank you for recognizing us veterans. The only constructive comment I would make is that our waiter seemed a little slow and not able to multi task very well. Other than that we had a very good experience
I would not return. Biggest turn off, besides bad service, was that they advertise free meal for veterans and gold star family members (parents and spouse) on veterans day, but still charged us (active duty member and spouse). If you don't want to give free meals, that's fine just don't advertise it that way.
My wife and I went here for our 2 year wedding anniversary and it was amazing! The atmosphere is great and you feel nice and secluded at your table. The dinning staff was friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing. We could not have been happier with our choice for dinner.
We waited over 20 minutes after we were seated before I went in search of a waiter. I found a waiter from another spot in the dining room and he took care of us. He was an excellent server, and I appreciated his willingness to assume responsibility for our table. From that point on our dinner was perfect - food, service, ambience.
Have been to many M&S in Seattle and Oregon, Baltimore-recommended to out of state friends for our night out. Martini was made with honey instead of olive juice TWICE then gave me third and didn't even Comp the drink after all that. We were very nice and patient but would've expected some sort of acknowledgement. Went to dining room
For dinner, asked waiter for manager and he never brought the manager. When we asked for bread waiter said "I will see if we have any left, we've been giving it out a lot." We were never offered bread. Food was good but service was very disappointing.
I used to have good things to say about McCormick and Schmick but not this time. I ordered Swordfish and was absolutely appalled at what I got. First, the portion was tiny. It appeared like the chef took a decent piece of Swordfish and sliced it in half so instead of it being 3/4 - 1 inch thick, it seemed like a measly 1/2 inch thick. On top of that, it was dry, despite me asking the waiter for it to be moist ( and the waiter reassuring me it would be). And Swordfish isn't cheap. I am prepared to spend what it takes but in this case what was served came no where close to my experience in similarly priced establishments. Sadly, I won't be returning to this place. It's off my list as there are so many nicer places in Tysons that serve decent portions and excellent food.
Convenient parking underground. Nicely appointed restaurant with quiet booths. Greeted promptly and offered drinks and appetizers. Both were excellent as was the food. I had a very nice halibut, my friend had salmon. Expertly prepared and tasty. Great chocolate dessert. Overall another dependable M&S experience.
We did an anniversary dinner at McCormick & Schmick's. One reason we selected this place because our Landry's points were about to expire, and we felt like seafood vs. steak (at Morton's). This location has always been good, but this last visit was somewhat disappointing. Service and food were OK, but the place looks a bit tired and the energy level was low. Everything was actually fine.....just not great. I have no suggestions.
What a great experience. The food was exceptional but the service was truly outstanding. I believe Michael served us and he was a riot. He made several tasteful jokes and was very attentive to our needs. The restaurant was quiet but even if it had been a busy night the design of the tables allows for privacy no matter where you are seated.
We loved the food and experience. They do a great job of recognizing special occasions and the food was fantastic. The host was friendly and personable, but our waiter was just ok. He wasn't very attentive with refills and we had to flag him down to take our order when the restaurant didn't seem busy at all. The overall experience made up for it in our case, but I could see how this could put off other diners.
Service was outstanding, all attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about food offered at the restaurant. Food was outstanding; presentation was great and food was the correct temperature. While I was able order a dessert that I liked, the ones I would have ordered contained nuts. I'm not allergic, I just don't like nuts in my food.
