McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Kansas City Ratings and Reviews
the drinks were over priced, the oysters Rockefeller was ok, but very small, the clam chowder
was good, the bread was very good, the steak and lobster was good , but the potatoes had no flavor and the steak was very chewy. the desert was good my wife said the last time we ate here it was good , but this is our last time.
Took my wife here for Valentines day and got seated within 10 min. We had reservations. Customer service was excellent, food was amazing as well as our drinks. We will definitely come back and reccommend to others. This was well worth the money. Compliments to the chef!
We were about to be seated at a table in the bar, explained that it was our anniversary (along with Valentines Day) and could we have something more intimate. They said “of course, but would be a few minutes”. We were seated just moments later. Great evening!!
The service was quick and attentive. The staff was informative and showed attention to detail. Our food came out hot, tasty and appealing to the eyes. The atmosphere was festive but not too load for quiet conversation at the table. We enjoyed the dinner during our date for an early Valentine's day meal.
The service was bad - the waitress didn’t know how to pour wine. She wasn’t familiar with the menu and was unable to make recommendations for entree options.
Our waitress was slow to refill waters and wine and seemed to focus most of her attention on a young man who was a party of 1 who was seated in our section - possibly her boyfriend?
We had a reservation made through Open Table, but we were seated in the Bar area. Where loud music was playing, it was extremely cold and the atmosphere was more of a casual restaurant - not what we were expecting/hoping for.
This was an extremely disappointing dinning experience.
Our experience could only have been better if it wasn't such a freezing night. It made our food get cold quickly. I couldn't believe how cold it was in the restaurant, I had to eat with my winter coat on. Our Bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer was amazing. We received the wrong salad, but the one we were given was one we had before that we liked so we didn't bring it to anyone's attention. The place was swamped because it was Valentines weekend & our server was working her tush off so why make a fuss. The food was so delicious one of the meals was Scottish Salmon, the other was steak & lobster tails. It was so yummy I actually focused on eating slowly so I could really savor the flavors. The Chocolate Bag was divine. The white chocolate mousse & berries were outstanding.
Prices are a little high, but about normal for the Plaza. Salmon and filet mignon were both very good; however the side of "au gratin" mashed potatoes were nothing special but still cost $2 more than plain mashed potatoes at $7 (which seems extreme for mashed potatoes). The "au gratin" potatoes I guess had cheese in it as the color was orange, but added nothing to the taste. Very bland. So don't waste your money.
Our family of 11 gathered on a snowy day to celebrate Nana’s birthday. We enjoyed Sunday brunch. The service was great, the main course came out a little slow but the food was well prepared and plentiful. If you try brunch we would suggest the cinnamon rolls no matter what entree you select
Really great food experience. The issue was with the service With a 7:30 reservation they did not get us seated until 7:50. Kept telling us our table was being cleared.
Server was nice but did not have skills for a restaurant of this caliber. We had to continually ask for tea and water refills. Basic server stuff.
While not her fault side orders were not sent to us correctly. She did get us our correct sides after our meal was delivered.
We were seated immediately but then continuously pressured to order appetizers before we were ready. Our food was good but not great but the prices charged should demand great. We had a nice booth and we love the ambience but the food is average and overpriced.
Location, location, location, and a nice setting - other than that, the places wants, needs a lot more. I have a few Paleo friends so I in spite of average past experiences, I keep coming back here thinking it will be different. Place has gone downhill very fast. I 'think' this last may be my last. I expect some attention to my reservations, I expect a clean table before I walk up to it, I expect cleaning to start at least at closing time, not 10 minutes before.
