Very nice quiet dinner. Salad was average. Very limited choice of savignon wines by the glass. Good choice of fish.
Wonderful ambiance and value.
There was a table full of raucous and ill mannered businessmen nearby. I guess that would be par for the area.
We will definitely recommend and return here on our next trip to the OC.
First time eating here and I was not impressed. I chose this place to celebrate my dad's birthday. The food was mediocre and overpriced. There was nothing special about this place. Definitely won't be returning here. Houston's and Ruth Chris have much better food and service.
Everything was delicious as always!
The food and wine list is terrific. The bar is good for something quick.
The booth was very uncomfortable. Server was pleasant.
The salmon from Scotland was incredible-best salmon I have ever had. Will come back again for more!
The food service and qualty was very good, the server was a little to anxious and loud.
The restuarant should teach staff to develop an inside voice for such an adult atmosphere.
Parking was easy and they provide 3 hour validation.
We had the Corned Beef and cabbage because it was St. Patrick's day. The Corned Beef was good but they served Mashed Potatoes instead of boiled potatoes and the cabbage had burn marks on it so it was not prepared traditionally either. We were disappointed an d will not be coming back next year. If you are going to advertise Corned Beef and Cabbage then prepare it in the traditional way.
Also, there was a shortage of servers and so once our meals were served we did not see the waiter again until we were finished.
Finally, my wife went to the bathroom and noticed that there was no toilet paper and no seat covers. That is unacceptable in a restaurant that wants to be a higher end establishment.
The server was very friendly and helpful. She was knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, and helped us make some great choices. The three of us each had a delicious meal.
Greg is the best. He waited onus last itme we were here & saved the day. This visit, he was again terrific.
We’ve done a yearly birthday celebration and always loved it!
I love this place. I've never had a bad meal nor a bad experience here... It's just that simple!
One of my favorite restaurant when I visit Irvine CA.
My cousin was in town from the east coast so we decided to have dinner at McCormick’s The food was awesome, everything from appetizer to salad to dinner. However our waitress was quite annoying. She came over what seemed like every 5 min for something. Interrupted multiple conversations and was really getting annoying. I mentioned something to my cousin and he said I’m glad you said something because I thought it as just me! Kind of ruined our dining experience. Like I said, the food was great but to be constantly interrupted was terrible.
M&S in Irvine is a hidden niché near John Wayne Airport. They boast a fresh collection of seafood and oysters, with a few steak options. I recommend the seared sea scallops, and request extra cilantro puree for a divine fork full of scallops, roasted corn hash, and fingerling potatoes!!! Amazing!
We are longtime M&S customers and know we can expect excellent seafood with occasional special requests for a specific item my wife prefers. We always enjoy the decor, which is warm and inviting. On our most recent visit, the restaurant was very busy, so service was not as good as usual, but is most often quite good.
Went on a Friday evening at 7:15. Waitress was frazzled when she greeted us with menus. Said she would be back. She took our order for an appetizer amd walked away. She stoped ovwr two mors times and said just a minute and apologized. 30 minutes passed. We didnt even get a drink order in. Appetizer comes out and waitress checks on us. We tell her we would like to put a food and drink order in. She got a little defensive and said someone called off so she had to pick up extra tables. Sorry but not our problem. I still didn't think that was a good excuse for not having a drink or food order after 45 minutes of being there. Her demeanor was much better when a few of her tables left which helped with the overall experience but for the price we paid for our meals, the service was not good.
Strange service. Slow and filled with excuses. Ran out of some items after confirming that they were on their way.
the noise level was NOT "energetic." it was deafening! at 1 on a weekday we thought it would be a lot quieter. we were seated in a room with two large parties, so that was some of it. went because of the restaurant week menu & enjoyed it. forgot how good their clam chowder is!
We had a wonderful early dinner with my siblings and our 90 year old mother. Staff was patient and attentive.
We’ve enjoyed dining at this restaurant for many years. We’re in Landry’s Select Club. We’ve enjoyed the Restaurant Week menu twice this week—it is that good! We’ve enjoyed many special occasions, as well as just wonderful meals here. The waitstaff is hardworking and attentive. This week, Juan Carlos gave us wonderful attention and service. THANK YOU!
Fantastic dining experience! We always look forward to returning to McCormick's.
excellent time, good food, great service, no-brainer! Chilean Sea Bass special was Off The Charts!
The food and atmosphere were great. My friends ordered filet and ribeye and both said it was great. My seabass was good, but a little bland (it seemed like it was underseasoned).
I have been to this venue several times. We arrived way before our reservation time. The hostess was very sweet, & she would let us know when there was a booth available. So far, so good. I told her we'd wait in the bar, which was a poor choice. We were the only 2 people sitting at the bar. We sat there for close to 15 minutes before the bar tender came over. Then it took another 5 minutes before we actually got out drinks. Fortunately, the dining room experience was a lot better, thanks to a waiter named Greg. He literally save the day. If you could find another like him, perhaps you could train him on how to tend bar. Maybe then we can return.
Fast service from start to finish.
The service was not very good
The waiter was too busy; not typical for this restaurant
As a chain fine dining restaurant didn't have big expectations, but very pleasantly surprised. Idaho Trout and Swordfish were both excellent as were the sides and appetizers. Service was fantastic!
The service was excellent. However, I think I should have been told that when I ordered my fish grilled instead of with the preparation described on the menu I could not get the rice. They gave me mashed potatoes instead without consulting me. Luckily I tasted the mashed potatoes and they were great so I kept them.
Also, my wife and I agree that the seasoning on the green beans was not very good. Neither one of us ate them. The carrots that came with them were ok.
We found the wine selection more extensive than expected and found a Chardonnay that we have enjoyed before.
Overall our experience was quite enjoyable.
Always good food and exceptional service. Great place
Thought the food was very mediocre. Had the trout. Was tasteless and swimming in a white oily sauce. Not great.
My guest seemed to be ok with he ate but in general the menu and the food and taste seemed to be from the 90s..,
This is a priced place to get good seafood. Ambiance was very pleasant. There was a bar area which seemed very lively, but we dined in the regular dining room.
Excellent waiter! Food was amazing. We will becoming back!
We loved our dining experience at McCormick and Schmick's. The service was fantastic, the food was perfect and we liked the atmosphere very much. Our service was an experienced waiter who knew when to approach the table, he knew the menu + wine list and remained patient with my picky dining companion through her dietary restrictions, indecision and numerous requests. The atmosphere was a ideal place for a business meal. I highly recommend!
Had King Crab, was first served cold, I had ordered steamed. Was sent back and came back hot and was good.
Upon arrival for a reservation on Valentines day, we were sad to see several couples arrive after us and be given a table before us. Then after getting a table, several minutes went by before we saw our waitress. She saw our anger and helped to make up for it after and all went well from there except for a rare piece of meat to send back.
My husband and I have been to McCormick and Schmick's- Irvine a number of times. We have always found the food to be exceptional and the service outstanding.
FOOD WAS GREAT AND SERVER MARTI WAS TERRIFIC VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND VERY ATTENTIVE SERVER. WE WENT FOR VALENTINE'S DAY AND MADE A RESERVATION. WHEN WE WALKED IN THE PLACE WAS PACKED, BUT WHEN WE GOT TO THE HOSTESS, OUR RESERVATION WAS HONORED AND WE SAT DOWN IMMEDIATELY. GOOD JOB TILLMAN, WE LOVE YOUR SHOW
