Horrible service, cold food, and more. 3 hours to eat a meal. Save your money and got to St. Elmo's.
Seems to not be as delicious as it used to be. The featured fish is salmon. Boring. Used to be able to count on them for something more unusual.
Thanks for remembering my special request. I absolutely love this place-great service!
Good good, creative entrees, great service.
Downside-music too loud for quiet conversation
My wife and I both had the wild salmon special, it was offered two ways and we each took one of the ways it was cooked. Food was great (bread, salad, appetizer, main course) and so was the service.
Food was good as always . Waitress was slow, not personable. I have been to this restaurant multiple times and this is the first time I will say the service was not up to par.
This restaurant has really gone down hill. The steak we ordered was over done, the lobster was under cooked and food was sort of lukewarm. I have eaten here before and was very pleased. Not sure if they have a new chef, new buyer or both but we were extremely disappointed. Our waitress also acted a little bored with the whole procedure. All in all, not a very fun night out for three of our birthdays!
The food was as good as it always is at McCormick and Schmick's. Chuck did an awesome job taking care of us, and I enjoyed my birthday dinner.
We had reservations at Noon and took about 10 minutes give or take before we seen a host / hostess to get seated. Once seated it took a long time to order and even longer to get food. Our goal was to have 1 hour lunch and ended up having to let guests go because of how long it took staff and ended up leaving about 1:30PM. They need to increase speed for lunch as most people are on a fixed schedule that would come in during week.
Took forever to get service at a reserved table, the water glass was broken and the server did not offer to replace so I had to take one from another table and do it myself. The server blatantly did not want to be there. Service was not the usual quality. The manager did nothing to correct the service. Food was good, per the usual. Service not so much...
I wish 3.5 stars were an option since that seems more apropos. I can't think of a time I've been here and they've had all the menu offerings. This time, they had three of the four oysters and less than one portion of octopus left. We placed two orders for the octopus appetizer, server came out and said they had less than one left, encouraged us to order something else but we kept it anyway. We ordered multiples of all four types of oysters. They didn't say the oysters were short, they just brought plate with three types in different quantities than the original request, noticeably with the most of the most expensive type, and said they'd used what they had. I also don't like how they really hard sell the upcharge anything--for example, when asked if we wanted bottled or tap water, we said something like "oh, it's water, it doesn't matter." And bottled water was served. While we could've been more clear that "it doesn't matter to us, so tap is OK," it's like they're looking for a way to inflate the check. They usually try to sell you the shrimp kisses appetizer at least three times (eye roll). Those annoyances aside, the oysters here are fresh, served with traditional accompaniment, the wine list is OK and priced appropriately, and the sour dough bread is always really warm and soft. Good place for business since it isn't loud or crowded, and an easy walk from any of the downtown hotels.
Everything was delicious and the service was excellent
Soups were cold, very average. Food was overpriced for what we received. Have been to other M&S and were more impressed.
The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. It’s a a great place for intimate or group dinners. We were at a conference and many of the attendees were at the the restaurant so it was very full, however, the service a s quality of the food was great. We had 10 people in our group.
Excellent food and service. It had been a couple of years since our last visit and we again were reminded of why we keep going back. We must go more often. Even if just for the appetizers and beer. Thanks for a wonderful dinner.
Wonderful happy hour drinks and food. Excellent dinner service. Food was amazing. Small portions, but worth it. Loved the ambience.
Delicious food. Excellent service and attention to detail. We enjoyed it very much. We will definitely be back.
As always, the food was delicious and the service was excellent.
No Vegan Options. No options other than side dishes if someone Doesn’t eat fish or steak. Not one.
Fun times in the bar is always the expectation at this place. The after work happy hour is great for a snack and a couple drinks. Although that menu was not offered because of the Valentine's day holiday, my wife and I still enjoyed the atmosphere and each other's company.
We came to dinner here after dining at several other McCormick and Schmick’s locations over the years for my husbands birthday...which is also valentine’s day. No happy hour menu even though we were there during happy hour because of the “holiday”. Got seated relatively quickly but wasn’t really impressed with the overall expierience at this location.
Great meal, good service ,convenient parking . Will certainly go back.
This was our first time at the restaurant and we went on Valentine' Day. Making reservations was easy, thanks to OpenTable. The food was amazing. The service was top notch. The noise level was a bit much but did not take away from the experience. I would definitely recommend to any of my friends and family.
We dined at McCormick and Schmick's Seafood for Valentine's Day. Even though it was a busy night due to the holiday, we received great service. The food was authentic and delicious.
After a long search of premium restaurants in the area for Valentines day, I was able to get a good reservation time here. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. I will be back.
We had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner here. The food and service were outstanding.
I know it was Valentines Day , but the tables were crammed in there. The service was so so. Had to ask for bread and then only got a 1/4 of a loaf. My steak was room temperature at best . And required A-1 . No real flavor ( 39.00 Ribeye) Tried three times to sell us on their rewards card . Not worth it for me .
I appreciate it was a busy night (Valentine's Day) , but the service was very slow.
I will keep this short....Went on Valentines Day, service was slow and after more than an hour still didn't have our entrees so we had to leave. Had to give low scores on food and value since we didn't get to eat.
Seated within 5 minutes of our reservation on a very busy day. Good food selection, tasty. Service was efficient.
It started from the beginning. The hostess left without telling us to follow her, she stood there and let us get seated before telling us we were at the wrong table; the appetizer dishes were not removed before our entrees arrived which was a hassle because there was no room on the table; the Chilean Sea Bass for $38 should have had more than one slice of cucumber and few beans; and the Lump Crab Cakes were soggy and resembled canned crab. The atmosphere was dingy -- not as pleasing as we remembered -- it needs a makeover. Needless to say, not a good dining experience.
It was just another Seafood place where they take the time and stick it to you.
I had the twin Lobsters all that came with it was some mash potatoes & a cup of soup
It used to be you could order a 1/2 doz or a dozen oysters at a time, now you pay for each one.
All they want to do is charge you for each item you get with your meal as extra. They should
have a base price meal with all the fixtures that go with it . I can find better seafood
at Bonefish grill than here. If the food is real good & service is excellent I don't mined
I ll pay . Seem like they were in a hurry to get you out of there
Amazing dining experience and guidance from our waiter Sean! Food over-exceeded our expectation and the chocolate bag dessert was the piece de’ resistance
Dined at M & S several years ago and was so disappointed in the food I haven't returned. Tried it again 2/13, ahead of the Valentine's rush. Food was interesting and exceptional and the kitchen was relatively fast, but the service was highly suspect. Waitress was very friendly and offered suggestions, which I normally use as a caution to avoid those items. She returned to the table three times to check on us before ordering. Each time I requested a cocktail and she didn't take the order. She brought the sourdough bread and didn't notice the table had not been set with bread plates. I spread my cocktail napkin to use as a plate and she still didn't notice when returning to check on us. Finally ordered cocktails with the meal. Salads were delish and entrees were ample and creative. The green beans were fresh, but not cooked anywhere close to al dente. It was difficult to even cut them with a knife, however, once in my mouth, it was delicious to eat fresh green beans in February.
WOW! **10 stars ......Shawn did and amazing job as or server tonight. He was very personable and really seemed to have an handle on working the table. He introduced himself and as if we had been in before. We said we had. He asked about drinks and also offered bread. When he came back with bread and drinks we were ready to order our meal. 8oz filet butterflied with a side of goat cheese mashed potatoes. an 8oz fillet not butterflied with goat cheese mash potato's and ceaser salad.
McCormicks really needs to do at least one appetizer that is not seafood.
The pace of the meal was very good, and empty plates were quickly removed. Our Tea never went unfilled. He came back to check on us several times to make sure everything was great. After dishes were all gone we ordered dessert. The two most favorite on the menu. A chocolate bag, and walnut crusted upside down apple pie. These are both to die for they are so good.
We had bonus coupons left from buying Christmas gifts we got to use tonight, And we had gift card sent from corporate for a not so great meal we had months ago. All that took out total down to less then half. I ended up giving him 30$tip on 130.00 bill. We found out from a Manager we were Shawn's first table out of training. I told the manager he do amazingly well. I hope Shawn continues to like his job. I just wish I would have gotten the name of his cologne. It smelled very citrusy. Shawn will be a real asset. The two times prior to this visit we had issues with our server, issues with being cold by the window, issues with cold food, issues with running out of dessert items. GIVE HIM A RAISE!!
I have been a long time patron of McCormick and Schmidts and I believe they have lost their edge. It is now indistinguishable from many other mid-tier restaurants. I had their salmon in butter sauce which was marketed as a premier menu item. It was fine, but not memorable. For the price ($30), I've had much better. That said, our waiter was delightful.
love their waitresses. friendly!
impossible to beat their best services in indianapolis!
Always a good predictable experience and the food is always good.
