McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Indianapolis Ratings and Reviews
M&S is one of our favorite upscale dining places - in fact, our Number 1 restaurants. Has it all - service, atmosphere, food quality and value. We have never been disappointed here and will continue to go back on a frequent basis. They are wonderful supporters of our military and we thank them for their support!
Went there to take part for there Veterans Day special. I ordered the fish and chips and wife had the chicken chop salad. The fish was rubber and the fries were cold. The chicken on the chop salad was burnt. Yes it was free. But was expecting a nice meal. The waiter was not interested in serving us. We had to ask for bread. We ran out of water and drinks. We did bring our son and his girlfriend, they both ordered a steak and said the steaks were good. So two steaks, 2 draft beers and a coffee the bill was $112. Not worth the money.
I know that beggars can't be choosers, but my wife and I were there for the veterans day free meal. I very much appreciate your giving us free meals because you didn't have to. I had reservations for 12:15, but there was no record of it when we arrived. It didn't matter anyway because there was plenty of space. We had to wait 20 minutes before the waiter took our order. In fact, another person took our order and gave it to our waiter. The food was great, just not enough of it to fill us up. No bread was offered to us either. I tipped the waiter $5.00 when we left. After we left there, we went to a Chinese restaurant to pick up more food so we could be satisfied for lunch.
My wife and I took McCormick and Schmicks up on their tribute to Veterans. We are very grateful for offering this special meal. While we were there, the restaurant was full of Veterans and Active Duty Military. It was a wonderful gesture that is greatly appreciated.
We were treated well, the host greeted us and thanked me for my service as did several members of the Staff. The meal and service were wonderful and as usual. It was a wonderful gesture that is appreciated.
Was seated 45 min late. Never was updated. Kept having to bug hostess. Felt forgotten about. Handed a menu with old food crusted to it. Told waiter and complained but just got empty responses. Food yummy but delayed. No check back bybwaoter to see if food was satisfactory. Service slow after waiting 45 min. Food served all at different times too. Instead of coming out together. Wanted dessert but was so tired of being there and being ignored.
We celebrated our one-year anniversary here and could not have had a more enjoyable experience. From the customized "Happy Anniversary" menu to a delicious lava cake on the house, everything the management and staff did made us feel very welcome and only added to our enjoyment. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone whether you are celebrating or not. I will also add that McCormick and Schmick's is one of the very few places to find quality seafood in Indianapolis.
We were looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and noted on our reservation it was our anniversary. The hostess wished us a happy anniversary; however, our server never acknowledged the occasion. The server seemed disinterested in us - especially when we didn’t order appetizers. My wife had undergone some minor oral surgery the day before so we opted to order desserts to go. First, while not looking for a free dessert we couldn’t help but notice a table adjacent to us received a free dessert for someone’s birthday. Second, we were charged $0.90 for a carry-out charge for our desserts - a little chincy for a $100 meal. The server’s attitude was more pronounced because we noticed a much better server working a table nearby. Also, the noice level in the restaurant was very loud - the music could have been turned down.
Wonderful service that made up for the less than par food and disappointment menu selections. We were unaware that the menu was shortened due to some events in town until we were seated. We had actually returned to McCormick and Schmick's because of their great menu options so very saddened to learn we had only a few options this evening. We had a wonderful server who helped us pick good options but our food came out pretty cool temperatures and she had to ask the kitchen to warm things back up for us. We mentioned to the manager who just nodded and didn't seem to even notice we had a bad experience. There are too many other places to eat when visiting for us to return.
The food is always good and a decent value. Unfortunately on this visit, the restaurant had decided to run a limited menu because of a 5 day in a row Garth Brooks concert in Indianapolis and this was in the middle of that run. It was disappointing and seemed unnecessary since the restaurant was not near full to capacity. The food we did have was good and the service was solid as always.
We dined here on a Saturday evening when Garth Brooks was in town. We were celebrating an Anniversary and a Birthday. I was very disappointed to sit down and receive an extremely small and condensed menu. The wine menu on the back was so small I couldn't even read it! We were told that the chef condensed the menu while Garth was in town due to it being so busy. We had 4:45pm reservations and were attending the concert at 7pm. I never once noticed that the restaurant was overly busy. Seemed like a typical Saturday night to me. In fact when we left I didn't even see people waiting to be seated. My husband and I each had the sea bass. For $38 you'd think it would be amazing but it was quite bland and boring. A very small piece served with some edamame in a dashi broth that had no flavor. We each had a salad prior to our meal but left still hungry. After spending $200 on a meal, it would be nice to feel satiated. The server however was awesome!
This was DePauw Parent's Weekend and our freshman daughter wanted to go to a "special" place instead of the "local Greencastle fair" so we chose McCormick and Schmick's. We arrived an hour earlier (6:30 p.m.) than our reservation and were surprised to find there were very few patrons in the entire restaurant. They seated us immediately and said, "oh if you would have gotten here later it would have been packed!!" I can honestly say that the best part of our evening was that the service was excellent. We had a "trainee" and an experienced waiter. Our daughter was dying for Alaskan king crab legs........unfortunately M & S was "out" of those that evening....disappointment #1. She ordered the lobster bisque as a starter and the stuffed crab and filet...both were "okay." Disappointment #2. She should have asked for some béarnaise sauce with her filet as it was a bit dry and lacking flavor. She couldn't eat the stuffed shrimp....runny and mushy. It was definitely nothing to brag about. My husband and I were "encouraged" by our waiter to get the $36 Redfish special....it was dry and came on a HUGE portion of mashed potatoes and a couple of green beans....again, for the price, I was expecting EXCEPTIONAL....very underwhelming. Disappointment #3. We didn't stay for dessert....we left at 0745 p.m. and there were still very few tables seated....maybe just an "off" night for McCormick and Schmick's but Indianapolis seemed "hopping and busy." I will definitely try making a reservation (much earlier) for St. Elmo...where the prices, food and value are ALWAYS EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were with a group of friends celebrating my husband's birthday. We chose this restaurant because my husband wanted crab legs. Once we ordered, we were told that they were out of crab legs. The pasta was overcooked on my order. The steaks were tender, but didn't have much flavor. All in all, the food was average. The service was average. It was a little too expensive for what we received.
We celebrated our 20th anniversary at McCormick & Schmick Seafood. It was a great experience and the food was excellent. Our server was very attentive and accommodating. I've already recommended it to friends as this was our first experience there.
To put it simply, we had no complaints. Can't wait to return.
