The food is always very good . My husband and I each had the Almond crusted Trout. I usually get the Parmesan Crusted Tilapia with Lemon Butter Sauce with Capers, but it wasn't on the menu this time. I was disappointed.
Nice ambiance for celebrating a special occasion. Service is always impeccable.
Although my friend chose to hit the bar earlier than we planned I decided to stay and eat. Wasn’t the best Ahi seared tuna or the best lobster bisque I’ve had. It was close to closing time for the kitchen but I will go back
Food was excellent (loved the coconut shrimp!) but the service was outstanding! Our server went out of her way to see our every need was met. (Including bringing a suprise birthday cake out for my husband when we mentioned it was his birthday) highly recommend this McCormick and Schmick's experience!
Great experience. Great service and wonderful food.
Poor service, waiter was abrupt with us, did not inquire regarding size of steak ordered. Went ahead and ordered large one. Over charged for Steak medallions , not the same as menu.
Did not check about dessert- just brought the bill. We said we were not sure about dessert to manager but not the waiter. Steak knives came late. Music too loud.
Food OK thought, presentation lousy.
Felt that service was bad because we had not order drinks and appetizers.
Service was the worst I have seen in some time. We had reservations and arrived on time. We were seated and sat for 15 minutes and not the first restaurant staff cane by to offer any water or otherwise. We then went and told the hostess. She disappeared and after another 5 minutes, no one would come to our table. They were not busy as less than 30% of tables were full.
I would recommend avoiding thus restaurant at all costs as they are indifferent and have poor training. Disappointing as we were hungry.
Had a great dinner pre-theatre. The location is great, the fish is outstanding and the service is always good. This is a great go-to spot if you’re craving fresh, delicious seafood and fish. And the oysters were amazing!!
One of our favorite places to celebrate birthdays.
This was our second time giving this restaurant a try - and it was the same story, extremely long wait on food that came out cooked incorrectly. Our waitress tried her best to make up for the problems, which were not her fault at all, but it still left us disappointed.
The service was great as was the ambiance. The food was just ok-not worth the price.
Always try and eat at M&S’s when their ever around wherever I’m traveling. They closed the only one in Dallas, TX for some reason a few years ago. It was a staple for my wife and I for Happy Hours and family dinners. We miss the food. Bring it back to Dallas please!
Our meal was rushed by the way the food was served. We were still eating our appetizers when they brought the main dish.
They wanted to collect the plates even when we were not finished....and they insisted more than once. Furthermore, we were still enjoying our drinks when they brought the check.
It was great
This is always my choice for business lunches, especially when the music is turned down to a reasonable level. The service and food are always excellent.
Andrew - our server - was very personable and took excellent care of our party of eight.
I've never had s bad meal at this place. Great food, greast service, and z great time
The waiter was slow and inattentive. I had to guide him on the tempo of the night (open the other bottle of wine as there are empty wine glasses, etc.) Disappointed that he never asked about having a Landry's Card and so of course I forgot and now I will not get my points. Food was good as usual. Management needs to train staff better.
I know I’m in Indiana, but they were the smallest lobster tails I have ever seen!
This is a great place. I love Seafood. They got the best crab cakes I've ever eaten.
My husband and I went on date night. We arrived @ 6:30 p.m. on a Saturday. When we got there it wasn't very busy, yet. They sat us at a nice booth, however in the booths next to us were families with small children. All other booths were open in the restaurant. We love kids, but we were looking for a more intimate dinning/date night experience.
My husband's food was cold and slightly over charred. We sent it back and they replaced with a hot meal. However, we did not get to eat together as I was done before his food arrived for the second time. They seemed to indicate they would "take care of his meal". Which we initially took as it would come off the bill or offered dessert/drink. There was no discount on the bill. We ate the food, we were okay paying for it. The issue we felt is what they seemed to indicate they would do they did not. There are many dinning options downtown and we fully understand things happen. However, for the cost we wished we had been somewhere where we felt the experience was fantastic not just O.K.
I love coming into this establishment...you coming expecting one thing and usually leave with something better!
Friday night at 7:00pm. Restaurant was almost empty. That should have been a warning sign.
Service was prompt and acceptable.
They were out of a couple of fish entrees that my wife tried to order but they were out of. We ordered the Shrimp Bites appetizer which consisted of four shrimp. The issue was they were extremely overcooked and very chewy and rubbery. Very surprising for a place that claims to be a seafood restaurant. We hoped it was a fluke. It was not. I ordered the Ultimate Mixed Grill. Once again, the stuffed shrimp, grilled shrimp and salmon were all overcooked. The crab cake was acceptable but not great. The green beans were simply boiled or steamed with no seasoning. There was also not salt or pepper on the tables to try and correct ourselves. Wife’s salmon was also overcooked and her sautéed mushrooms had so much garlic she could not finish them.
Total bill $130. Drinks consisted of only one glass of wine and iced tea.
I had raved to my wife about the wonderful experience I had at the McCormick and Schmick’s in Las Vegas. Therefore she was very excited to try it. Unfortunately, this experience was extremely disappointing with the exception of the wait staff who did a good job.
My husband had made a reservation for the two of us at 6pm on a Friday evening. The restaurant wasn’t busy. There were only a handful of tables occupied. In the entry was a large sign advertising happy hour specials Monday through Friday, 4pm-6:30pm. After being seated, I inquired about happy hour specials. The wait staff attending us stated that happy hour was over. We had, “just missed it.” I described the sign in the entry. The wait staff returned shortly after with the happy hour menu. She told us the drink specials listed continued all night, however the food special were over until “late.” The current time was before 6:30pm. I ordered a cocktail not listed on the happy hour menu and proceeded to review the menu. The entree I ordered (flounder) was unavailable. The wait staff stated that she didn’t tell me it was unavailable, because “people don’t usually order it.” After which I changed my order to the trout with butternut squash orzo. I asked if the fish was served whole or with skin. She replied that was just the filet without skin. A server kindly delivered our meals. Unfortunately, my dinner arrived with skin on the filet and green beans with mashed potatoes. Nothing on the plate was as the menu or the wait staff had described. She was apologetic, and offered to make a suggestion. I thought is was in our best interest to forgo a third attempt at ordering dinner, so declined. Shortly there after, the manager arrived. She informed me that the trout was prepared and served as the chef intended. I understand that trout is generally served whole or skin on. However, I was specificity informed otherwise. She stated that she would remove the trout entree from our bill. I would have expected nothing less.
My previous experiences at lunch led me to believe I couldn’t get out of the restaurant in less than an hour and a half. Service this time was prompt and the food was delivered quickly. The quality of the food is always good and with the faster service I will be more inclined to go back. Our server was attentive without being intrusive.
As usual, they met all of my expectations. The service from Andy was perfectly on target, and the food was good. Andy was attentive but not obtrusive, and we were able to conduct business during lunch. The only complaint is that the music was a little too loud, and I'm even a little hard of hearing. Tone it down just a little.
The service was top shelf by Lindsey. She made us feel quite welcome. We started off with some appetizers, a Cesar salad with extra croutons for my wife of thirty years and a bowl of New England clam chowder for me. I thought the chowder was the highlight of the meal by a very slim margin over the salmon. The sour dough bread was perfect and the fresh made butter was a real treat. For entrees, we went with the pan seared, sesame crusted ahi tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes and roasted artichoke hearts for my lady and I chose the Scotish wild Atlantic salmon grilled with saffron butter and fresh summer orzo. The wasabi mashed potatoes were way too spicy for my love and she was pretty freaked out by the lack of cooking to the tuna, as it should be so she exchanged the ahi tuna for butterflied, deep-fried, jumbo shrimp with NO hassle. The salmon was spot on and delicious as were the shrimp. For dessert we split the chocolate molten lava cake a la mode and it was the perfect ending to the meal.
Easter was special this year at the Downtown McCormick and Schmick’s! Our waiter was knowledgeable and so very accommodating. Food was yummy and it came out hot and perfectly prepared!
Nice job from the entire staff on a windy, chilly Easter Sunday!
I've been a frequent diner at this restaurant, and there's never been any problem with the experience. Hence, I'm puzzled about some of the negative comments I've read. I spoke with the manager about them, and she was forthright about some of the challenges and solutions she's faced. I've never been in the restaurant business, thankfully, but I have some concept of the daily difficulties inherent in such a people centered pursuit.
My wife and I were delighted with our Easter experience and M&S, and we'll be back. Indeed, I'll be back on Tuesday for a business lunch with clients.
We were a party of 5 and each one of us had a delicious meal ranging from steak to salmon with really nice service and a nice private table to boot. We will definitely be back.
Enjoyable birthday meal. Everyone loved it very much.
Food was overpriced for the portions, ingredients, and execution. Maybe your paying more for the downtown location Took wife and kids while in town attending special event. My swordfish was just OK. Wife's shrimp overcooked. My 15 yr olds first ever $40 steak...didn't even eat it all. Service was good, though. Bottom line is there are gastro pubs all across USA doing it better fro 2/3 of the cost.
Service was a bit slow for a business lunch meeting. Some of this was the waiter and I think some of it might have been the kitchen.
I was given an out of date menu. Another dish was substitued without asking me. Waitress was thoroughly confused.
Good food, slow service but good, and a playlist that the CIA uses to force confessions.
I was NOT pleased with the portion of food I was served!!
I loved the atmosphere, and our waiter Sal was EXCELLENT! Very attentive without being intrusive. My husband and I were able to carry on a conversation without interruption, however our food was brought out in perfect harmony and our glasses were kept full. The food was attractively presented and the flavor was exceptional. Prepared just as Sal had promised. The booth by the window gave us a chance to view people on the sidewalk without being disturbing or upstaging me for my husband's attention. We enjoyed every course from the bacon wrapped shrimp and oysters Rockefeller, lobster bisque soup and salad, filet and stuffed shrimp to the Crème brulee for dessert. We will most definitely be back!
Our 1st trip to McCormick's & Schmidt's. The food was outstanding, the service was amazing, but the level of noise was pretty loud. We saw the maitre D have to move at least 2 tables of people away from a very loud group of women who were sitting in the back. For Saint Patrick's day and a pre concert meal it was a good experience.
I really liked this place. The food and service was just spectacular. Not only was the food scrumptious, but it was all so beautifully plated. We really enjoyed this dining experience. It was our first time there and we'll definitely go back.
Horrible service, cold food, and more. 3 hours to eat a meal. Save your money and got to St. Elmo's.
