Asked to wait even thou we had a reservation. While at the bar saw 3 groups being seated. After one drink and 10 minutes went to hostess stand and asked about our table. Was asked how many people and I said we had a res. at 7:30 and was told we didnt check in. The kid we checked in with was standing right there and did not say a word. Reservation was at 7 30 our entrees came at 9:39. My crab stuffed Salmon was burnt and mashed potatoes were crusty, like they had been sitting for a long time. The kicker they ran out of shrimp which is what my wife and I both wanted. Our server was great and the manager did buy our dessert. So over all long and disappointing. We really like going there. Maybe just bad night.

We attended on a fairly busy Friday evening for the first time. Although greeted promptly and checked in under our reservation, we grew quite frustrated when half an hour later we had still not been seated. Many groups of various sizes, including several walk-ins, were seated prior until we were the only ones in the waiting area and still completely ignored by staff. Only upon confronting the multiple staff at the hostess station and being met with perplexed gazes, were we seated. Given that we were now going to be very rushed to make our show for later in the evening on time, it was a poor start to our evening.

Once seated, our server Wendi did a remarkable job trying to redeem our evening. She asked our precise timing, recommended dishes that could be prepared quickly, and expedited our service in record time. Her positive and humorous attitude literally turned our evening back around. We were highly impressed with her dedication to service.

The food, shrimp dishes for both of us, was expertly prepared and quite delicious. Our cocktails were well-mixed and of.the need potency to calm our rushed demeanors. Sadly, we had not time allowed for appetizers or dessert, and cannot comment on what looked like many tantalizing choices.

Ordered the Chef's Special, Stuffed Salmon. The meal was excellent and full of flavor. Salmon was paired with mash potatoes and fresh green beans. The highlight however was the appetizer called Shrimp Kisses. Excellent!!!!!!!! Shrimp stuffed with Pepper jack Cheese and wrapped in bacon.
Food is excellent. This restaurant is always well over $100 for 2 of us. That's why it's a special occasion for us to eat there. But worth the wait.

My date and U both enjoyed the salmon cooked on a plank with a berry glaze. Definitely great food and excellent service.

My.friend and I started with cocktails, I had the KY Mashup which was awesome.
I had the blue ridge salad she had the caesar which were huge portions enough to share , lettuce fresh and toppings plenty.
I ordered the filet (medium, came out a little on medrare side) and twin lobster tails (they were overdone). Served with green beans that were over saiceded with butter so eh not the best entree (for me)

Our server suggested the walnut apple pie and it was delicious.

I would definitely suggest that the bourbon list be extended.

A friend & I ate there before the Symphony. Even though it was pretty full, we had no trouble finishing in time to walk over to the Symphony. The beef medallions were melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the salmon stuffed with shrimp crab & brie was very tasty. We each made changes to the usual accompanying sides, and our meals were delivered just as we had ordered them THE FIRST TIME OUT OF THE KITCHEN!! We were tempted to try the "Paper Bag" chocolate dessert, but decided we'd have to walk all the way back home to justify that - so we had the Creme Brulee instead (which was excellent!).

I took my family out on the weekend to celebrate a birthday, and I think I may have overhyped the place a little too much. To be honest, it was all a little underwhelming for the price. The atmosphere was nice, as was our server, but the food just wasn't up to par for the price. I was also a little surprised that as a restaurant using the word seafood in their name that they didn't have live lobster. Granted, we're in the middle the country (Indiana), but Fedex & UPS do a solid job of shipping things overnight without much of a problem. I've had a better experiences with competing restaurants.

Great food and impeccable service. We asked for dietary restrictions, and the food came just as we ordered. Our waiter was attentive, but not too much. We liked that the atmosphere could be casual or dressier. The bar is close to some of the seating, so you might want to ask for a table a bit further away from the bar and the street entrance.

It was SO incredibly cold in the restaurant we could not enjoy our food. We had to move tables to try and find a spot that was not freezing. It’s a shame that no one thought ahead to turn the heat up since it was so cold in Indy today.

Excellent service and the food... Awesome! We had the Calamari for our appetizer. And, for dinner, the Ultimate Seafood Combo (Grilled Shrimp, Stuffed Shrimp, Crab Cake, and Grilled Salmon with potatoes and green beans) and the Grilled Blue Cobia.with Grilled Brussel Sprouts and Pancetta. Oh, and for dessert... Creme Brulee. Wow! Definitely will be returning.

We arrived 20 minutes before our reservation, and were told they would seat us closer to our 7pm reservation time. At exactly 7 pm, the hostess (who had been playing on her phone behind the stand unless someone was immediately in front of her) remembered us and we were seated, even after seating multiple walk-in parties that did not have a reservation during that time.

Our server was excellent (despite having a large number of his tables seated within 5-10 minutes total) and very attentive. He was right over to take our drinks, answered questions honestly and made excellent recommendations that we liked very much. It took a while for our drinks to arrive (which I do not believe was his fault at all, since every time I saw him he was moving as fast as he could without being at a run), and my beer was about 33% foam.

Our Oyster Rockefeller appetizer arrived about 20 minutes after our order went in and was absolutely delicious. Our main entrees followed shortly there after, and while mine was excellent (the Shrimp and Crab stuffed Salmon), my wife's seared sea scallops were just acceptable. They did not have a great sear on them, the plate looked like it was thrown together, and they were on the edge of overcooked. She even made the comment that the scallops she orders from most hibachi restaurants in the city are cooked better than these were. While they were edible, we just expected more from a 32$ dish of 4 scallops.

After our meal, walking out of the front door, the same hostess was again staring down at her phone to acknowledge us, thank us for our visit, or to even say a simple good bye.

As i read on a earlier review, it stated that they fall just short of a great experience. This is the most accurate way I could describe it. While our appetizer and my entree was great, my wifes entree, my drink, & 2 negative experiences with the hostess detracted from our experience enough to drop the review from a 4+ to a 3 star, and make it doubtful we will return.

McCormick and Schmick’s is one of my 3 favorite restaurants. I could eat there every week. Our service is always outstanding. Our food is also always outstanding. We just went to celebrate my birthday and they continue to meet our very high expectations.

Everything from the entrance to finish was wonderful. We definitely enjoyed the unique variety of cocktails. The Chilean sea bas was spectacular. Definitely would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Got in. Hostess sat us in an “open section”. Took 15 minutes before staff noticed we were sitting there. 5 more minutes and we were going to walk considering the restaurant was 25% full. Food was great, but service was not the best.

Food and service were excellent, especially considering that it was downtown on Valentine's weekend. Not super secluded feeling, but it was a popular time. We had a wonderful meal.

The ambience was wonderful for a romantic dinner setting. Our service was good, although our waitress started out a bit arrogant. She improved as the dinner went on. I think she was over-confident, not meaning to seem arrogant. The food was good. Steak prepared perfectly. I had the seafood combo. It was good, not killer. The crab cake was the disappointment - too mushy. Not outstanding for a seafood restaurant. I would try other seafood places for their crab cakes before I return to this restaurant. But, the experience was decent, overall.

This is the second time I've went there and it's been a limited menu. The first time I didn't call first to ask about menus, but this time I did call a couple days before Valentine's day and talked to whomever answered the phone and asked if there was a limited menu they said no they were serving full menu. So I made a reservation and drove another 45 minutes to downtown indy only to get there and it's a limited menu. I only get the crab legs and add a lobster tail to my meal from there. So again I didn't get to eat a dinner there even after I was reassured they were serving full menu. So you have missed out on 2 over 100 meal tickets and I've done nothing but waste time and gas driving back and fourth for nothing which sucks because your food is good. Stop serving a crap limited menu. You loose business that was.

Great food as always. Only disappointingly thing was lording the Lobster Mashed potatoes and having no Lobster in it. Said something to the waiter but nothing was done about it. Still I always recommend this place to everyone I know.

I went on Valentines Day with my boyfriend and we were seated nearly an hour after our reservation time. The service was great and the server appeared knowledgeable. My soup of choice was the lobster bisque which tasted more like a stick of butter with a hint of lobster. I had the ultimate mixed grill as my main entree which I really enjoyed. My boyfriend had a dry rubbed ribeye and found a hair in his food.

In spite of a server we liked, our experience was pretty bad. Wine order took 20 minutes, only to be told they were out of our selection. We were seated at 8:20, and our food arrived close to 10:00. By then, we had asked for to-go boxes and a check. “I hope the rest of your evening is better,” our waiter said apologetically. (This is a restaurant we like and usually enjoy. It was just a bad night.)

We were there on Valentine’s Day for dinner. We both had salads both were very generous portions and very good. Our entrees came out a little longer than would have expected but it was also a very busy night for them. She had althe sea bass and it was excellent. I had the cobia and while the fish was very good, it could have been warmer and the vegetables were nearly burnt. Overall the meal was still good and the service was great so we will certainly return.

Crowded on Valentine’s Day.
They ran out of the steak special
We waited for a long time for food
My wife’s order was not prepared correctly. Her re-ordered arrived as it was time to leave. Kitchen was slow/off.
The evening was a complete disaster. ....and they also charged my credit card twice.
Overall it was a very bad night. Our server tried his best. He was the only bright spot.
