This restaurant and an incompetent, inattentive waiter RUINED my Birthday dinner last night, 1 Dec 2019. We had handicapped family members including myself, were seated early up front when restaurant was very much not busy, and still through our botched dinner my girlfriend had to get up and secure attention from staff 6 TIMES!! We were badly neglected and did nothing but arrive with smiles and looking forward to a nice evening. NOT!! We drove an hour to Indy for this, unreal!! We've never had such service at Dennys!
I wrote Landrys Select and M&Schmicks Indy, mngr contacted but NO offer to make this right, as we asked, for my wasted Birthday Reward to be reactivated so we could use on a redo, at a different Landrys location. Nothing as we suspected. This restaurant is NOT high quality as one might think. Reviews this past yr show this, several are negative. Go to the Oceannaire if you want top food and service for high $ spent.
We really enjoyed our dinner in every respect. Great food, service and atmosphere. We have already planned our next experience!
The staff was excellent, especially considering that they were working on Thanksgiving day. The stuffed salmon was fantastic, but the traditional Thanksgiving feast offered for the holiday was less than stellar. It tasted pre-made, and seemed like it had been under a warmer for a while. Was served tepid. Chanceller James took very good care of us (and several others from what we can see.)
Couldn’t get home for Thanksgiving, they served a warm atmosphere and a great meal
Pleased with wonderful menu options, excellent service of waitress Adrian, friendly valet service. Restrooms clean. Area for coat hanging was nice option. Muzak a tad too loud for my preference, kitchen noise occasionally distracting, and bartender a bit grumpy. Overall, a lovely Thanksgiving meal experience and we wouldn’t hesitate to do it again, maybe requesting to sit farther from kitchen.
Fantastic Service and Customer Service, couldn't expected any better experience. Quality of food was exceptional. Thank You for making Thanksgiving Special.
From the front door reception to the thank-you exit, it was wonderful. It's clear the professional staff is trained for the best food prep and presentation to delivering it table side in perfect timing. Music is lively but not overpowering, acoustics are very good. Highly recommend! A Thanksgiving to remember.
We have gone every year for our anniversary. Last year we tried the restaurant for thanksgiving and it was awful. There has never been a complaint about the food. The chefs specials are always excellent. The service in the other hand is always different on our anniversary. This past year we walk in the hostess wished us a happy anniversary, then we sat fat our table for a long time waiting before the waiter even acknowledge us. Then it just got weird and awkward all night.
Cold food! Potatoes were hard. The server was overwhelmed. Needed more staff.
Sean is always my waiter/bartender and he always does a phenomenal job! He is very knowledgeable about the menu and always gives his honest opinion. Definitely one of my favorite places and the new oyster menu is amazing!
Adam took great care of us! Contains amazing! Tuna incredible! Chocolate bag off the charts! Love this place!
The seafood platters, supreme mix and seared scallop, were both excellent. The blackened chicken could be better. Specifically: thicker or more slices of chicken atop the dish as those offered were so thin as to offer no flavor, the noodles could have been cooked more as these were very chewy and the sauce needs to be thicker to bring the flavors together. The sauce offered was so watery as to wonder if was just hot water overflow from the noodles.
It was Veterans Day and the restaurant was slammed. My scallops were overcooked. The servers struggled to make things nice. Not our typical experience.
We had a very enjoyable dinner on Sunday. Kudos to M and S for the free entrée for veterans. Food and service was terrific. Thank you.
Food was not great this time but had good experiences in the past
Great food and service
Veterans Day is always great here. We had dinner before the Colts game and it worked out just fine. We never felt rushed even though they were busy. Good Waite staff.
good service>. menu prices for lunch on Veterans Day were high. food good. Do appreciate the free meal for Vets.
Our experience was lack luster. It was disappointing particularly for the cost. My husbands steak was tough and overcooked. The sides are minimal, which would have been okay if they were spectacular. The carrots were tough and flavorless. My dish was the better option but the portion was sad. The best part was the crab cake—and yes just cake as you get only 1 for 2 people. The wine stood out the most. We saw other tables get bread—we did not and were left trying to figure out if we were supposed to receive some. We won’t be back. If I’m going to pay 200 for dinner it better be excellent.
We come here every year due to a gift card we get as a present. If you eat in the bar, service is good, food tends to be better. If you eat in the dining room the service is a gamble, as is the food.
This time we did a dozen fresh oysters that were great, so was the clam chowder. However for dinner my wife had dry overcooked salmon and I had dry over cooked crab legs.
Our 5 year old daughter enjoyed the dinner, but for the money, it is just too expensive to be subpar. We have been going here for about 10 years, and it is amazing they are still in business given it is always the same, which is average at best.
Poor service all around. Overcooked food. Very loud, apparently chatoic kitchen that could be heard in the dining room.
I've been to several McCormick & Schmick's before so I know I am typically getting good food and good service, but this experience was terrible. Apparently there was a large party and the kitchen could not handle it. Our food came out very late as in an hour after we ordered it. I ordered mahi and it was overcooked and dry. I had to send it back and I can count one hand the number of times I have done this in my life. It was just that bad. Two of my friends ordered king crab legs with scampi. Not only did they come out cold but they weren't cut, there wasn't much scampi sauce and they didn't bring the seafood crackers. They advertised on the menu that they were 'easy to eat' but apparently they had changed suppliers the previous week so they were no longer pre cut. Ummmm, then you should notify people of this when ordering. When dining at a restaurant of this quality, I expect a high quality of food and service. Our waiter was outstanding. He helped us through the situation. The kitchen was a nightmare. I received another entree (crabcakes) which were overcooked on the outside. The best thing about the menu was the wine and the dessert. I won't be visiting this restaurant next time I'm in town.
An above average but not exceptional restaurant. Overpriced appetizer. Main courses were tasty but again overpriced. If you are staying at the Hilton Hotel in Indianapolis the convenience makes up for some minor deficiencies.
This place was amazing! Cj was our server and he was the best. Food and drinks were delicious.
We were seated immediately, our wait staff, Danielle was outstanding, food and beverages were very well presented and taste was superb.
One could not beat the service and food quality. Andrea's attentive service made the dining experience delightful. Will return for Veteran's Day.
Food was outstanding and our server was very accommodating.
Excellent food and service. Even just for one.
Always an enjoyable time - for formal dinner, special occasions or watching sporting events at the bar. Great service, excellent and diverse cuisine and great cocktails. Truly a feel good experience!
We went to McCormick and Schmick's for my birthday. The food, the service, and the ambiance were perfect. We will absolutely be back and we will recommend it.
The quality of the food was excellent. The service was good but not great considering the price. Our server had her moments. Some interactions were pleasant and professional others were not so much. The restaurant location was in a good downtown location. It was easy to get in and out. The food was prepared and at our table quickly. A good restaurant but a little pricey.
Currently sitting here in McCormick & Schmick’s and I have to say not the best experience. Kind and courteous staff which was about the only plus. It’s 2 hours into our experience and we just received our entrees. It was delayed because they are training multiple line cooks, not the head chef, in the kitchen.
One would expect the head chef and management to ensure every plate leaving his kitchen is up to the standards expected from this establishment. Yet our food was cooked correctly, which it was not. Two of the three steaks were not even close to being cooked correctly. The best thing had to be the mushrooms which helped to mask the poorly cooked steaks.
How did the staff and management choose to resolve the situations mentioned above...they removed the 1 side of asparagus from the bill...that we never even received to the table. 😂
I would recommend Harry and Izzy’s, a much better experience to be certain! Best of luck to those dining in the near future.
Our waitress was great food great
We had not eaten here for several years due to mediocre food and service. We dined here about a month ago and there was 100% improvement. We dined again last weekend and the service (Wendy) was fantastic. The fish (bass & swordfish) were cooked perfectly. However, the sides with it left a bit to be desired.
I think we have just visited this restaurant for the last time. Service was very slow due to a kitchen slowdown; we had to wait quite a while for our main courses and our waitress had to be prompted to bring us some bread during the wait. The food is okay, but for those prices, it should be something special. The noise level was quite high; then all of a sudden, everyone was gone and it was so much better. If you still want to go, avoid the popular time of 7:30 on a Saturday night.
We eat quite a bit of seafood and were excited to try this restaurant. The sixty south special was really disappointing. I have never had such a thin piece of salmon served in a restaurant, additionally it was dry. My husbands fish was better but still not restaurant quality.
Hadn't been to this location for a while. Main menu and well as the specials of the evening provided lots of great choices. Had a hard time deciding. Meal was very good (buttermilk shrimp) and the service was exceptional. Had an early reservation and was in and out pretty quickly. Would definitely go back.
Great service and food
A beautiful, quiet setting for a date or evening with friends. Wonderful service and delicious food. A bit pricey, but worth it.
