McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Houston Ratings and Reviews
Very nice restaurant! Hats off to our server, Gaby she was AWESOME! I wish Mr. Fertitta would branch out to Beaumont with this restaurant. I love all of the Landry’s franchise restaurants and bring my first time dining here I definitely will be back again soon!!!
I have never understood why the service at the Landry's chain of restaurants is always so poor. Obviously, the training for the wait staff is insufficient. Many times during our dining experiences, the dining room has no wait staff or other servers available. The rice that accompanied my fish was ice cold, the wait person never bothered to refill our wine glasses or check on the quality of our food. OUr martinis were served in glasses that were not chilled making for a semi-warm martini. As much as I would love to continue to be a member of Landry's Select Club, I will no longer dine at any of the Landry's chain of restaurants.
Unfortunately we did not receive good food nor great service. The salmon was very dry, shrimp overcooked and tasteless, ceasar salad dressing was not typical caesar taste, mushrooms tasteless. The wine and bread however was very good.
The female server reminded me of someone that works at an Ihop, zero 5 star restaurant skills.
This place was great for the ambience and a special occasion. My date and I got a good table, and the food came out pretty fast. Our drinks took forever and there are subtle nuances to that. Our server was having an off-night but he was courteous and conscientious. I wouldn't go here on a regular basis, but it's fine for a special occasion.
Over all great dining experience. Our server seemed a bit flighty. She was very friendly but kept forgetting things. Ex: Drink orders, bread and the actual order was entered wrong after she wrote it down and repeated it. All simple fixes, luckily my husband and I are pretty simple too please. Our server apologized multiple times, again sweet girl, maybe she was having an off night. The manager came over apologized and promised a prompt remake of the right food order. We asked him not to rush anything as we'd rather have it right then have poor quality.
In the end the food was delicious. The service was still good, even with all of the mishaps. The only piece I didn't like was the jab the manager made after the food was delivered. "I got your order right and I didn't even have to write it down." I'm sure he was saying it to make light of the situation. Unfortunately the server was in ear shot of the table and in my opinion it wasn't the most professional way to handle the conversation that obviously needed to be had between them.
We attended for our anniversary. Our reservation was for 2pm but it hardly seemed necessary because when we arrived there were only three other tables in our section that were occupied. Despite that, our server was very attentive. He gave us excellent suggestions. Every item we ordered was delicious. The room was large but the tables were close enough that it could have been very loud but to our surprise, it wasn't. There was a table of at least eight dining not far from us but we couldn't hear them or any part of their conversation at all. We will definitely return to this location.
I made reservations for Christmas dinner for four ahead of time. I requested a special, private booth, which I was so happy we were able to receive. As soon as we arrived, we were shown to our table. Our waiter was excellent, the food was incredible!! Overall, the whole experience was THE BEST!!!!!
Unfortunately, McCormick and Schmick’s did not have our reservation in their system. The restaurant was extremely busy, as it was Christmas Day. The manager said that their was a problem with Open Table reservations. I showed them my confirmation email, and we were finally seated. My husband and I had the prime rib, our son had top sirloin, and my step-motherbhad the beef medallions. We all enjoyed our food.
The fresh fish was amazing. The redfish offering connected me with my childhood back in South Louisiana. I had a tingling feeling from the top of my head to the soles of my feet with each bite. The dish brought back such memories. The service was great and the overall experience from the time I walked in to be seated until we left was awesome.
The hostess looked upset and never once smiled. She then took us to a secluded stinky part in the back of the restaurant where nobody was dining. We were going to sit and give them the benefit of a doubt when we couldnt stand the musty smell and then saw one glass on the table broken with a large part missing ( dangerous for a 9,7,and 4 year old). They tried to avoid us when i asked to speak to management and when we did-- nonchalant at best. We got to sit in a normal table with normal people and a normal Christmas eve dinner thereafter. It seemed like a nightmare initially. Interesting experience to say the least. Dont quite understand how a mean, non smiling hostess is able to keep her job. Hmmmm...
Stopped by for Christmas Eve dinner. The restaurant was full, but not too load. Service was a bit slow, but waitress was friendly. Plenty of room for the little one (11 month old in a stroller).
Calamari was fresh, as was the bread. We had the 6 oz filet adn crab cakes. Both entrees were cooked and prepared as ordered. a nice evening out.
This was our third Christmas Eve - the past three years - at McCormick and Schmick's.
The food is very good, and our service was excellent. However, when we arrived for our 6:30 p.m. reservation, the main dining room had no tables available - only one table available at the back of the bar, we accepted that. However, that area seemed to be the 'holding area' for those waiting to be seated. It was extremely noisy, almost unbearable. A group of about 12 people (adults and children) were in that are for about one hour waiting to be seated, and that was only one 'group' waiting. We will try again next year, but will not accept seating in the bar.
Terrible, terrible restaurant. Went for Christmas Eve dinner with my family and the service was terrible, they didn’t bring appetizer and went I complain to the manger he didn’t even excused himself and brought us the dinner and appetizers together. I will never go back to this restaurant also the quality of the food was horrific. Not worth the price for the service and quality of food you get.
