McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Houston Ratings and Reviews
The food was mediocre. I ordered the medallion medium rare. They were chewy. The spinach and mushrooms were inedible. They were severely salty and over cooked. The wine was good. My husband had the Kobe burger. He was not impressed. Said it tasted like a burger from chili's. He's had way better Kobe beef. The service was great.
When I made the reservation, I was asked if it was a special occasion. I said "yes, my wife's birthday". I didn't think I needed to remind them of this when we arrived for dinner. They did nothing for the birthday, which was sort of OK, because we were quite full, but I did expect some recognition.
EXCELLENT service. Chopped salad had a LITTLE too much dressing, and salmon was slightly overcooked. Halibut was GREAT. Crabcakes were perfect. Veggies perfect. Not too bready with fillers. Mashed potatoes were kinda dry, but it was kinda late, so somewhat understandable. Overall, wish I could rate 4.5 not just 4 stars. Very happy. They did an awesome thing for veterans day!
The front desk staff were very nice and accommodating, the bar was good as well. We sat outside in the front for the scenery and nice fresh air and the wait staff forgot about us, she was very slow and unattentive the entire time. The food was very good, I asked for extra sauces but didn't add them and I had to ask for them and forget about getting a refill on tea and water. I was feed up and just wanted to leave.
We ate there as veterans, although we've eaten there before. I want to thank Mr. Tillman Fertita for remembering the Vets in such a way. It is much appreciated. We were treated like royalty and made to feel special.
Thanks again to the whole staff and Mr. Fertita
I was craving fish but I have severe shellfish allergies so I have to be careful of cross contamination. This is one of the places I know that takes allergies seriously so I can still enjoy fish and the food has always been excellent. They had my personal favorite Ono; also known as Wahoo. Service was good and it was extra quiet as we came later in the evening. My fish was perfectly pan fried and moist in the inside, my broccol done but not limp, and the orzo is always a solid win.
Nice ambiance and good food. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection and was very tender. The brie, crab and shrimp stuffed salmon was delicious. Mashed potatoes was the side dish for both plates, and was very good. Only downside is that for the starters there wasn't one option without seafood in it. All the rest was great.
I have always enjoyed this restaurant but for some reason last Sunday night it was really sub-standard. Admittedly it was 8.30 pm, because my friend had just arrived from London, but if they did not want to take the booking they should have declined.
On arrival there was no one to recognize us and take us to a table. We had to seek a waiter out. We were then seated and the service was fine after that.
The salads were fine but the main course was different. My friend said that his main course (red snapper) was good, but mine which was the Tuna sashimi special was dreadful. The Tuna was dry on one side, like it had been sliced and prepared for some time. It was barely palatable but as it was late I let it go.
Finally we were pretty well hounded out of the restaurant a little after ten by what I presume was the manager.
All-in-all a really bad experience.
Everything was awesome from beginning to end. The hostess was one of the best ever. It was for my mom's 55th birthday. She even printed it on the menu for a keepsake. The server was so patient with us waiting for everyone to arrive including a last minute guest. At the end, she even helped us sing happy birthday. Best experiences I had at an establishment in a very long time
