McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Houston Ratings and Reviews
It was just ok. Food was blaa. Needs updating. Older crowd. More food options. Food was way to fast. Sounds funny but let me enjoy my dinner and not run me off. Food wasnt that great. For the name and location they need an overall. Its 2018! Bread was good.
Outstanding as always. My husband and I enjoy coming here especially because I have major shellfish allergy and I feel safe eating here. They always take it seriously. I would hate to have to give up fish which I love because I couldn’t trust the chefs not to cross contaminate. I’ve had it happen in other restaurants, never here.
I had the cod, pan fried instead of beer battered and deep fried due to the small possibility of cross contamination of shrimp. It was warm buttery moist and delicious. I substituted green beans and carrots for the fries, they were perfectly prepared. They gave me a plethora of sauces to dip and some lemons but I didn’t need any. My husband had the trout which he enjoyed as well. Manager came out to verify my allergy and the degree it is which I appreciate. Service was top notch. Only down sides and they lost a point for it was a door kept opening and letting in cold air and the smell of cigarette smoke. If they try to sit us there again will ask to move.
It took 45 minutes to get some bread! On a Saturday night, really!?!?!? The waiter was very slow in bringing drinks and food! Maybe wasn’t his fault but the kitchen!! No many tables but just a few waiters! Male manager was going everywhere in the room without accomplishing anything! We were seated at 7:45 we left the restaurant at 10:40. We ordered the main course and desert!
We were there the week before and we were very satisfied with service and food. What a difference a week can make!!
I was a bit disappointed for the second time within the past two months in a Landry’s restaurant. The food was good, the service very was “ok” nothing special and very slow. It wasn’t a packed house but we still had to go a request someone to take our order. When finally coming there was no apology for the wait. The manager should have come around to apologize for the 30-40 minister wait to even take our order. We had to ask for water, no one came around for refills. I have to physically get up from the table to find a server.
A marked improvement on my last two visits. They nearly managed "Al Dente" for the green beans, certainly a lot better than the usual Houston restaurant attempts. Our server was extremely good and took the time to ensure that we were well looked after. Again I have to fault what I assumed to be the duty manager who swept in at around 10.40 pm to rush us out as it was after closing time. Don't accept bookings at 8.00 pm if you can't cater for people enjoying their meals in a leisurely fashion. This has been a failing that I have raised before, but it would appear that it is impossible for this restaurant to move up a notch and treat the customer properly.
What a success this special night was...It was my boyfriend birthday dinner, they had everything set up just perfect for our guess they even had Willie name printed on the Birthday Menu that was a very nice intro for the guess to see, the menu was so impressive, the food was just so delicious in every bite, every single dish was excellent the lobster, Salmon, the steak dinner was cook to perfection...the drink was nice the was a pleasant environment to be in very cozy, very nice for the occasion. Thank to everyone @ McCormick & Schmidt in Uptown Park, Houston,Tx for making Willie Birthday dinner a wonderful celebration to remember @ your restaurant.
Very nice restaurant! Hats off to our server, Gaby she was AWESOME! I wish Mr. Fertitta would branch out to Beaumont with this restaurant. I love all of the Landry’s franchise restaurants and bring my first time dining here I definitely will be back again soon!!!
I have never understood why the service at the Landry's chain of restaurants is always so poor. Obviously, the training for the wait staff is insufficient. Many times during our dining experiences, the dining room has no wait staff or other servers available. The rice that accompanied my fish was ice cold, the wait person never bothered to refill our wine glasses or check on the quality of our food. OUr martinis were served in glasses that were not chilled making for a semi-warm martini. As much as I would love to continue to be a member of Landry's Select Club, I will no longer dine at any of the Landry's chain of restaurants.
Unfortunately we did not receive good food nor great service. The salmon was very dry, shrimp overcooked and tasteless, ceasar salad dressing was not typical caesar taste, mushrooms tasteless. The wine and bread however was very good.
The female server reminded me of someone that works at an Ihop, zero 5 star restaurant skills.
