Couple of the folks ordered Steak medium to medium well. When the steak arrived, it was over cooked and chewy. That was not asked for. The attendant was informed to convey it to the cook. It's a decent place but probably it was a bad day, too bad when you are inviting people for business meeting.
Service was a slow and I’ve had better food at other McCormick and Schmick’s locations. Will find another place to spend Date Night with my wife next time.
Had an great experience tonight! Our server YaMyletha was nothing short of amazing! Very personable and provided exemplary customer service. Kevin, the manager came over and checked on us and was very pleasant. Will definitely be back and will be sure to request her next time!!
You served me a big, plain steak and charged me a bundle for it, but it was bland, almost flavorless. I usually eat grass-fed beef, so I suppose my tastes are more slanted to the texture of grass-fed beef. Maybe if you sold aged beef... that is tasty and tender... I might want to fork out $46 for that.
Fresh and delicious seafood
Perfectly mixed cocktail
This was a great evening. We had 4 of the happy hour plates. Perfect for 2 and then off to the movies. Great date night!
I was a bit surprised the food was only OK, not fantastic. Waiter was nice, helpful.
Def a great date lunch for me and the wife everything was perfect
With so many amazing places to eat in Houston this place really needs to step it up. We went in mid afternoon Easter Sunday and the initial greeting was lukewarm. Our server was pleasant however a portion of my husbands meal came out late. (This would have been comped at a restaurant with better customer service. There was no offer. ).
We chose to eat out on the patio which has a nice vibe but at times felt forgotten.
For the price I would chose many other places in the city.
Ate here for Easter brunch. Were the only ones in the restaurant and I did not enjoy that. The service was not as you would expect being the only diners.
The food was good as it always is and the value is respectable for the quality of food.
Nice touch of having our menus personalized. We enjoyed sitting outside. Our only complaint is having homeless people coming up while we ate asking for money.
Off night for restaurant.
Great food and service.
Jeremy provided great service. Picked this restaurant because of lent and the happy hour tito vodka martinis. The wild Scottish salmon was great. My wife really enjoyed the buttermilk fried shrimp.
We were a bit disappointed in meal. For the cost, meal was not what I remembered from a few years ago. Food was good but I could have had just as good at much less expensive restaurant. Service was ok but had to wait at length for drink refills and it seemed that waiter was having trouble keeping up with his tables.
Everything was Excellent!
It was a very good restaurant
Very nice birthday lunch with my grown daughter
The waiter took good care of us and made sure our drinks were full. The food tasted great and they accommodated our special requests.
Great food. Great service. Perfect place for a business meeting.
Delicious food in an outstanding venue.
My client was impressed and I’m rarely disappointed.
I love McCormick and Schmik
Great food! Great service!
The food was good, though not inexpensive. Ambiance was nice. Service was okay. The server was adequate but not very friendly. She didn't even return to ask if everything was okay. Overall, though, good experience. Walked from Toyota Center with good friends. Quiet enough to talk. Would recommend and return.
Food was very good, even better than expected. Unfortunately the service was horrendous. Slow and inattentive in a restaurant that was almost empty. Spoke with the manager about it and got a “meh” response.
Clearly the service issues start with the manager.
Very quiet on a Friday night. We went with our daughter and had a delightful time. I hadn’t remembered their prices so reasonable. Service was wonderful. Very nice evening.
I had dinner reservations for 5:30 PM for four. We intended to have plenty of time for a show at 7:30 PM, just a few blocks away. We were promptly seated, but service was a little slow, which put us a little rushed and no dessert after the main course.
Both orders of Beef Medallions Bordelaise were served after a little more than reasonable wait, They were both nearly room temperature. This indicated both a wait staff problem and a kitchen problem.
The meal was tasty but it was not nearly as enjoyable as it could have been.
They had a good selection of wines, but no Texas wines.
This is my second time at this location. We will probably go back and give them one more try. It's a great spot before a game or live theatre.
I was entertaining clients and requested a nice table when I made my reservations. My request was accommodated and the service couldn't have been better. My clients loved the food and the overall experience was exceptional!
Service was SUPER sow
Very good restaurant with very good food.
Went to celebrate my wedding anniversary and was worthy. The ambience and the atmosphere.
The down side was that it took some time to be served, it looked like they forgot about us for a while.
It was terrible. I made a dinner reservation for 5@7:30pm. At 8:20pm we still had not been seated and was told there was only one table for five available, and they were sitting there talking. We left and went to Subway. I will never go to M&S again.
reservations were at seven wasn’t seated until 8 o’clock. Before finally seating us, they try to set us on the patio for outdoor dinning. Which would’ve been fine if they had a table for us, they tried to set six adults around a little tiny cocktail table. We refuse and asked to talk to the manager, she was absolutely not helpful. We were seated in a dining area which was not being used, I assume because of lack of staff.
Appetizers were served with no plates, food was undercooked and drinks were wrong. It was horrible, horrible dining experience.
Best salmon poke I’ve ever had.
Awesome staff great experience
Issue - I’ll take it up with HQ.
Tyler was an AMAZING server - he was knowledgeable regarding not only the wine but the entire menu and daily chef's specials. We had an 8:30pm reservation, and there were plenty of tables available and the noise level was perfect: not loud at all, so we could have quite conversation. The location is wonderful; we had a table next to the window and loved looking out at the downtown street, shops, and passers-by, and is very close to bars and other nightlife (which we partook after dinner). It was both a birthday and anniversary dinner (a special night), so we had wine, mixed drinks, an appetizer, the mixed grill with filet and lobster, and stuffed salmon with vegetables and mashed potatoes. PHENOMENAL food. We also received a complimentary desert since we were celebrating a birthday and anniversary on the same day. Everything, not including the tip (a NICE tip) was $130. Not bad for such a great time!!
Fantastic! Loved the Scottish salmon with saffron butter!
Reservation was easy and we were seated promptly. Once we received drinks we were very rarely attended to. Took waving down others to get refills. Bread was delivered to the table after we asked repeatedly. We sat down at 7:15 and by 8:15-8:30 had food, it was cold and pretty upsetting when you are spending $40-$50 a plate.
Houston McCormick and Schmicks was less than desirable.
Omg! Sonia was awesome, the food was awesome. I really enjoyed myself. I will definitely be back!!!!
The food was very good but the place was not that crowded and it took way too long to get our food/drinks. In fact, I ordered a glass of wine to have with my meal and it wasn’t until I asked for the bill did they say it was ready. My wife originally wanted dessert but we skipped t bc of the delays.
We were given a nice, quiet booth to celebrate our anniversary and birthday. The salmon was recommended, but I had my heart set on lobster and was not disappointed.
