Great food and service.
Everything was Excellent!
It was a very good restaurant
Very nice birthday lunch with my grown daughter
The waiter took good care of us and made sure our drinks were full. The food tasted great and they accommodated our special requests.
Great food. Great service. Perfect place for a business meeting.
Delicious food in an outstanding venue.
My client was impressed and I’m rarely disappointed.
I love McCormick and Schmik
Great food! Great service!
The food was good, though not inexpensive. Ambiance was nice. Service was okay. The server was adequate but not very friendly. She didn't even return to ask if everything was okay. Overall, though, good experience. Walked from Toyota Center with good friends. Quiet enough to talk. Would recommend and return.
Food was very good, even better than expected. Unfortunately the service was horrendous. Slow and inattentive in a restaurant that was almost empty. Spoke with the manager about it and got a “meh” response.
Clearly the service issues start with the manager.
Very quiet on a Friday night. We went with our daughter and had a delightful time. I hadn’t remembered their prices so reasonable. Service was wonderful. Very nice evening.
I had dinner reservations for 5:30 PM for four. We intended to have plenty of time for a show at 7:30 PM, just a few blocks away. We were promptly seated, but service was a little slow, which put us a little rushed and no dessert after the main course.
Both orders of Beef Medallions Bordelaise were served after a little more than reasonable wait, They were both nearly room temperature. This indicated both a wait staff problem and a kitchen problem.
The meal was tasty but it was not nearly as enjoyable as it could have been.
They had a good selection of wines, but no Texas wines.
This is my second time at this location. We will probably go back and give them one more try. It's a great spot before a game or live theatre.
I was entertaining clients and requested a nice table when I made my reservations. My request was accommodated and the service couldn't have been better. My clients loved the food and the overall experience was exceptional!
Service was SUPER sow
Very good restaurant with very good food.
Went to celebrate my wedding anniversary and was worthy. The ambience and the atmosphere.
The down side was that it took some time to be served, it looked like they forgot about us for a while.
It was terrible. I made a dinner reservation for 5@7:30pm. At 8:20pm we still had not been seated and was told there was only one table for five available, and they were sitting there talking. We left and went to Subway. I will never go to M&S again.
reservations were at seven wasn’t seated until 8 o’clock. Before finally seating us, they try to set us on the patio for outdoor dinning. Which would’ve been fine if they had a table for us, they tried to set six adults around a little tiny cocktail table. We refuse and asked to talk to the manager, she was absolutely not helpful. We were seated in a dining area which was not being used, I assume because of lack of staff.
Appetizers were served with no plates, food was undercooked and drinks were wrong. It was horrible, horrible dining experience.
Best salmon poke I’ve ever had.
Issue - I’ll take it up with HQ.
Tyler was an AMAZING server - he was knowledgeable regarding not only the wine but the entire menu and daily chef's specials. We had an 8:30pm reservation, and there were plenty of tables available and the noise level was perfect: not loud at all, so we could have quite conversation. The location is wonderful; we had a table next to the window and loved looking out at the downtown street, shops, and passers-by, and is very close to bars and other nightlife (which we partook after dinner). It was both a birthday and anniversary dinner (a special night), so we had wine, mixed drinks, an appetizer, the mixed grill with filet and lobster, and stuffed salmon with vegetables and mashed potatoes. PHENOMENAL food. We also received a complimentary desert since we were celebrating a birthday and anniversary on the same day. Everything, not including the tip (a NICE tip) was $130. Not bad for such a great time!!
Fantastic! Loved the Scottish salmon with saffron butter!
Reservation was easy and we were seated promptly. Once we received drinks we were very rarely attended to. Took waving down others to get refills. Bread was delivered to the table after we asked repeatedly. We sat down at 7:15 and by 8:15-8:30 had food, it was cold and pretty upsetting when you are spending $40-$50 a plate.
Houston McCormick and Schmicks was less than desirable.
Omg! Sonia was awesome, the food was awesome. I really enjoyed myself. I will definitely be back!!!!
The food was very good but the place was not that crowded and it took way too long to get our food/drinks. In fact, I ordered a glass of wine to have with my meal and it wasn’t until I asked for the bill did they say it was ready. My wife originally wanted dessert but we skipped t bc of the delays.
We were given a nice, quiet booth to celebrate our anniversary and birthday. The salmon was recommended, but I had my heart set on lobster and was not disappointed.
M&S consistently provide great food and good service. The crab cakes are fab and the scallops are always done well. This is a great place for business lunch, in the heart of downtown.
My wife and I had a light lunch in celebration of our wedding anniversary. We began with cocktails, she had the Ruby Revival, a celebration of grapefruit. She loved it. Our first course was the Ancho Chile Grilled Octopus. It was not like chewing a rubber band as the dish cooled during conversation. Great flavor with the firm mouth feel of the Octopus contrasted with softness of the Canellini beans and the zing of the Ancho.
The one disappointment we had was the Lobster Cobb Salad. Maybe it was because we tried to share it, but the salad portion was bland. The presentation was spectacular, if you imagine a classic Cobb Salad gone vertical.
Finally we had a flight of oysters. The St. Simon were stellar.
Our server Sheila was very attentive and inquisitive about some of the techniques and pairings we enjoyed. Ask for Sheila if you go for lunch.
Beautiful, clean and inviting environment. The food was great and well flavored and great portions. Definitely a great place!
The waiter was horrible and the steak was the worst of my life. Will not be going back.
Loved the experience made for a great Valentin'es Day!
Poor service, disengaged, disinterested waiter, slow service and waiter would disappear, ran out of Alaskan king crab at 7:30pm, took silverware in between courses and then delivered the main course and left. Had to have him come back, after we finally got his attention, to provide us with the silverware we needed. Brought the wrong wine and then left us waiting for refills once we received the correct wine. At least the company was great since I was with my wife on Valentine’s Day.
Great place to have a special occasion dinner. The steak and seafood were cooked to our liking and very tasty. We will definitely keep on the list for got to places for a good meal.
Have visited this location several time and was pleased. This time my wife and I were not pleased. Service was questionable. Sat at table at least 10 minutes before being approached by waiter. In fact we had already decided what we wanted before the waiter arrived. Got our salads and asked for bread. Finished our salads never got bread. When our entre came first my wife's came and then several minutes later mine came. Had to constantly ask for water. Waiter kept apologizing for inattentiveness. Restaurant had a lot of large groups and I believe the waiter had to much to handle. Restaurant very loud. Appeared more attention paid to groups than couples. Food was great as usual but overall disappointed.
We had 7 reservation. Atmosphere was fine but we waited almost 45 minutes for meal . After speaking with manager the meal appeared in minutes delivered by her. Food was lukewarm but we did not want to wait longer so we ate it. It was our anniversary so needless to say disappointed. This was not our first visit. Manager explanation was that several large parties was ahead of us .Not my problem. This should have been expected day before Valentine’s Day . Complimentary dessert was good but did not suffice.
Just not what you come in expecting. Restaurant was empty. It was 5:30pm. Waiter took forever to show up. Forgot the proper # of place settings for the party. Shrimp was overcooked and chewy. Calamari was very good. No mention of deserts. It was a birthday. Sad to see the quality go down since Landry acquisition.
Service was very poor and food was average at best. I never write bad reviews. Maybe second time in my life. It was my first time at this restaurant and probably the last. Too many good ones to choose from.
We went to McCormick’s for my sons 22nd birthday. He and my daughters food was fine.
My wife ordered stuffed salmon well done on the salmon. She received stuffed shrimp and the salmon on my mixed grill was like leather.
To make it up they rushed out a new barely even rare plate to her as we were finishing. She refused for she doesn’t like salmon anything but cooked through - medium well to well done.
The manager was proud to take off the wrong meal and the never touched meal from our bill and give us a little extra off - sorry not good enough for me. We all wound up sharing our meals and the crab cakes were fishy.
The manager never asked how our food was outside of proudly handing us the make up dish that was wrong and saying he took care of us but not asking if I was ok with it.
Being a Presidents Club member of Landry’s and he knew that I expected he would do better but if I wasn’t I’d expect better too.
In the past roughly 9 months we have had bad experiences at this downtown one and the Town and Country one as well for Fathers Day.
We won’t be back anytime soon and I will not be looking to use them for entertaining customers any time soon either.
Good luck with your experience.
The food was delicious as always. I had the Pan Seared Idaho Trout and was cooked perfectly. One of the other 3 dining companions stated that the chopped salad was the 2nd best he has ever had.
For a Sunday at 4:30pm the restaurant had about 3 or 4 tables of customers.
I expected the food would be served hot and it was only warm.
Wife got fried shrimp with fries.
Fries were very cold. Don’t understand that.
My fillet and lobster tails was warm.
Steak tasted great but was not hot.
Everything else about the restaurant was perfect.
In my opinion a restaurant if this class and prices the steaks should be served sizzling hot.
I expected a much higher level of quality for a restaurant of this kevel and price.
We spent $170 overall. 😞
