Just so - so. Initially waited over 15 minutes to have waiter take order for drinks. Service improved as the evening went on. Waiter apparently going on smoke breaks between courses, as he smelled of cigarettes when he would deliver drinks to the table. Food was good, not great. Our bill was $486.00 for 6 people - we did have several appetizers and dessert (which was the best part) Just didn't feel it was worth the money.
I have been here many times and look forward to menu options. Today I was disappointed they did not have a special value meal as they have and the hand breaded craft beer fish and chips seemed to be giant fish sticks. Heavily breaded and very little fish. Spaghetti had very little sauce. Menu seemed to be more limited than previous visits
Food and service was excellent. Enjoyed our meal and experience at restaurant.
All the seafood was overcooked. My salmon was done to the point of tasting chalky. The shrimp was rubbery and flavorless. Crab cake was fine but nothing special. The lobster was over cooked. This was our second time leaving there feeling like we just wasted $150. Prior to that we had two mediocre visits. We won’t be back and I won’t recommend it.
Just like all of the M&S around the country, always consistent and great seafood. Try the bisque. Usually a varying selection of fresh oysters too.
All was very nice as far as the food, etc. but the Parking was horrible. One should plan to arrive 20 minutes early to park a long way away and walk for 10 minutes.
The food was very good, but I ordered a cup of soup along with an entre' and the server put down the entre before my cup of soup. Seemed very odd.
I am torn - I usually have a wonderful time and amazing food - this was a bust.
I think the main chef was gone - because the seafood was either under or over cooked.
We both had the mixed grill - for only eating three items on the plate it was WAY overpriced.
There was this mush that was on the plate that was so spicy we both could not eat it! I think it was mashed potatoes turned red with a lattice chip standing in it. Saving grace was the appetizers and bread....
I always save this restaurant as my go to for special occasions. The music was so loud that people were yelling to have a conversation. I do not believe Janis Joplin - screaming a song is what you want to portray to your guests. And if it is...well that's okay, we will just go somewhere else and most likely not recommend you in the future.
Excellent service and great food. We were given a gift certificate to this restaurant and used it on a Friday night. Had no trouble making reservations and we were seated were I requested. I ordered the same combo that I had ordered on Valentine's day and it was just as good as before.
Yao was AMAZING
It was my birthday and it was the perfect dinner. One of my favorite places.
Enjoyed a special meal with my son. Service was very good. Lobster bisque soup tasty as well as the fried shrimp and swordfish. The atmosphere in this restaurant makes it very comfortable for anyone.
McCormick and Schmick’s is always one of our favorites, but this time it was a little deficient. My wife ordered the broiled Walleye and I had the blackened Mahi Mahi. They came out and my wife’s Walleye was definitely undercooked. My Mahi Mahi was OK but it really didn’t have that distinctive blackened flavor because the seasoning was light and the cut of the fish was a little thick.
My wife picked at her fish and it was very apparent that it was not done. We called the server over and he took it back. They broiled it some more and it finally came out right. The manager was so kind to give us her meal as the compliments of the house, which was nice.
The problem still was that fish and seafood are their specialty and it was not properly cooked. Maybe the Sunday night chef team needs some encouragement?
All of our entrees were just ok. Very garlicky scallops which ruined the dish for me. We used to like going here, but it really seems to be going the wrong direction with the menu, the food and the feel of the place. More like a not-so-good chain that reminds me of the struggling place with the cheddar biscuits, if you get my drift.
We had a delicious lunch and a quiet booth to meet it. No pressure to leave so our business was concluded in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Just what the doctor ordered.
Incredible food!! The service was great and the ambiance was wonderful. Thank you!!
My wife and I were looking forward to date night at a nicer restaurant. We were greeted by a hostess who interrupted our check-in to answer the phone. In my opinion, you should never value someone who calls over someone standing right in front of you. After we were seated, it took 10 minutes for someone to ask us if we wanted a drink. Note, the restaurant was not that busy on Saturday night. The appetizer was good, but both of our meals were awful. My wife ordered the chicken (she has seafood allergies, but graciously agreed to come here), and it looked like they thawed a chicken breast from the grocery store and dropped a ton of mashed potatoes around it to hide it. They should have done a better job hiding it. I ordered the scallops. Starting from right to left, they were incredibly overcooked and then moved to medium rare on the left. Worse yet, they were served over a corn and mashed pea salsa that overpowered the entire dish and made it taste like Mexican takeout. What a terribly put together entree. I know the rest of the menu is mostly decent since I've dined here before, but if this was the first time I came to this restaurant, there wouldn't be a second.
We had only been to the downtown location before, but enjoyed this one just as much (longer drive but no paying for parking; worth it!). Staff was efficient and friendly, and everything was delicious.
Great Service and the food was delicious from the Sour Dough Bread Basket, Romano Chicken Chopped Salad and Chocolate Lava Cake.
Great service, and delicious food.
We annually celebrate a friend’s birthday here. She loves the birthday greeting on the personalized menu and her free birthday dessert. We all enjoy being able to converse, because the noise level allows it. Our food and service are always excellent.
Good menu, good food, but our server was terrible. The purpose of our visit was a business meeting.
Very nice restaurant - nice atmosphere - good food, good wine and it was very quiet, which we really appreciated. Will definitely be back.
Went to celebrate Valentine’s Day. We were a little early so went to the bar for a pre-dinner drink. I had a deliscious fresh squeezed grapefruit martini. Drink from their special drinks. We were seated and I requested another of the same drink. We shared a lobster bisque soup which was rich but very good along with a mushroom truffel bruschetta. Both very good. Our good arrived, (but not my second drink). My husband ordered the filet but it was flavorless. I ordered the shrimp scampi. The shrimp were dry and over cooked and the lemon flavor took over the flavor of the dish. They finally brought me my drink but it was the wrong one. By the time our meal was finished, they brought me my drink but once again it was not the right one. They did take the drink back and did not charge us which was fair. We decided there are too many good restaurants out there and will not go back.
The food quality at this restaurant is uneven. This time, we had the same dishes as last time, but they weren't as good. The medallions Bernaise was skimpy on the Bernaise and the mushrooms were rubbery. The scallops were mediocre. The coffee was terrible, whereas the last time, it was really good. We always end up giving the restaurant another chance because it's quiet, in a convenient location, and the service is good. There is one server, however, who "held us hostage" once while explaining her philosophy of life to us at great length. We avoid her now, and this time our server, male, was attentive without being intrusive.
Food was good, could have been better. Definitely prefer the Minneapolis location.
This was my first time dining here and I was not disappointed. The service was excellent - Giau was attentive and she was so adorable. Our food was very good - my only complaint was there were several bones in my walleye. Despite that, it was tasty. Can't wait to go back.
Overall pleasant experience. Waiter was a bit slow at times. Desert ok, a bit overpriced. Meal was very good.
Asked for a snug - but wasn't apparently with the reservation and we did not get that. Pretty disappointed about that. Other than that - it was a great evening out there. I can't say why - but the ambience at the Mpls restaurant was better - more romantic. We thought we would try the Edina location for Valentine's. But because of the ambiance being important to us when we go to McCormick's - I think we would go to downtown from now on.
Service was not good. The waiter just didn't know what he was doing.
Went for Valentine’s Day had reservations at 745 pm. We were seated at exactly 745 that was fantastic and quite rare most of the time. Grabbed drinks from the bar while waiting because we arrived early and service there was great and prompt for how busy the bar was. Seated at 745 and waiter was fantastic brought water immediately and helped with the menu for any questions we had. Food arrived promptly and was absolutely fantastic. Dessert was also amazing. The entire time the service was far above average. We will definitely return.
The ambiance was wonderful for Valentine's Day. I had the shrimp stuffed salmon- outstanding! My boyfriend had the shrimp linguini. Not too impressed with that dish, it was pretty bland. Everything else was great!
Very unorganized I arrive an hour before my reservation and didn't get seated until an hour after our reservation time. Service was very unprofessional and lack of experience. The tables whole order was mixed up the steaks were over and under cooked didn't receive crab that was ordered. Worst Valentines dinner ever experienced. Do not recommend.
The food and service was excellent. As we were there for Valentine's Day, they had tables setup in the back room which I think is normally used for large groups. It was nice but not as good as the front dining room. The only disappointment was the mint in our Kentucky Smash were black! The drink tasted ok but it was not appealing to have what looked like bad mint leaves in our drinks.
When we arrived we were politely greeted, given a lunch menu with the date 2/14/18 on it and titled Valentine's Day. We were told our waitstaff person would be with us momentarily to pour water and to take our selections. We waited and waited. Finally an energetic waiter came over and apologized for the wait and said he would take our order and bring us water. Right then another waiter came over and said "this is my table", and told us we had the wrong menus. In looking at the new menus, we quickly noticed that the prices were substantially higher then the ones we had had ample time to look at. When we commented on the price changes we were told by the new waiter that to make things "easier" they were just using one menu throughout the day and we now had a dinner menu. We ordered, received our food, had the plates taken away and waited and waited for our check to arrive. Finally it arrived and we waited to pay. No one was around! I went to the WC and my wife stood up and put her coat on and the original helpful waiter came by and she asked if she could pay him. He ran her credit card and as she was signing it the other waiter came back and took the signed statement. We looked for the manager, but did not see him or we would have said something. Food good, did not appreciate the price "menu", switch, and service with "our waiter" was extremely poor. Will hesitate in going again. By the way, the restaurant was at least half empty while we were having lunch.
Wonderful fish and chips. Also the shrimp was delicious. Just a lovely lunch.
We went for our annual Valentine celebration, it was great as always.
Food and service were great. We were seated on time, no waiting.
We waited for our table in the bar area while Happy Hour was still going on. Our server seemed frantic the entire time; she didn't bring my second drink as requested, and when our table was ready in the dining room, my husband couldn't find her to close out the drink bill. He waited 20 minutes before she came around while I sat alone in the dining room. Our server in the dining room wasn't very professional either. I asked her how many ounces the lobster tails were, and she said she didn't know and approximated the size with her hands. We ordered them anyway, but they weren't very good; they were dry and not flavorful. All-in-all, not the best dining experience. Still, the place is pretty and upscale, but other than that, not so good.
Service was great. Food was good, but thought the price for a cup of soup excessive. Restaurant could use a little "facelift."
Overpriced for the level of customer service. Food is okay, but not good enough for the cost, hostess suck at welcoming customers when they come in. Definitely not coming back.
