McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Edina
Book your next event with us
Food was fabulous as always, they do such a nice job with taste and presentation!
The service was excellent. We had the ribeye steak. The steak was cooked medium rare and was dry tasting. It was also tough. Not what you would expect from a high end steak and seafood restaurant.
My husband and I really enjoyed our meal for a quiet date night dinner. The service was excellent and the food was very good. Would definitely go back there and recommend.
The food was outstanding, but we felt rushed with the service (like they wanted us to eat and run). In addition, even with reservations we had to wait and then were seated right next to the kitchen.
We asked for a table or booth suitable for 4 adults and one infant and they placed us smack dab in the middle of the restaurant and didn’t listen to our online request. Food was very slow and not very good
Our second drink did not come until the end of our meal... The drinks were weak. .It took way too long. My walleye was hot, but the two small carrots and one Brussels sprout was ice cold.
First time here, won’t be coming back.
Not a good value.
I rarely do reviews, but you should know.
The service was inadequate. The server only had 2-3 other tables and was hard to find.
I love seafood & this menu had plenty of options. My husband's steak was cooked to desired perfection. Our server was attentive. My only complaint was the portions seemed a little small for the cost.
It wouldn't keep me from coming back
Everything about our visit exceeded our expectations. We received a friendly greeting and were given a choice immediately of where we wanted to sit and were pleased with the location; our server was pleasant, helpful and unobtrusive as she took our orders and then served our plates. The food was excellent, especially the chocolate silk pie and the cider Tuaca brandy desserts! Thank you for providing such a pleasant environment for us.
Food was delicious, but even more than that, they employ mature servers who have the experience and related ability to have fun with guests, while providing outstanding, professional service. Julia is a gem.
Having eaten at M&S several times, this is the first time our party was disappointed. It was Thanksgiving evening, so expected to be seated past our reservation. We arrived early, were greeted warmly when we walked in. We weren't told there would be a wait. When we got seated, our waitress came over promptly & was cheerful and friendly. She took our beverage order, then apps/dinner order. The wait was a bit longer than usual, but not excessive. Lobster Bisque was superb, rich with small chunks of lobster meat. Ten Greens Chopped Salad was very good, flavorful & crisp. No one else ordered an appetizer, so far so good. This changed with the dinner entrees.
1) Ultimate Mixed Grill was overcooked. Salmon was dry 3 grilled shrimp tiny 2 stuffed shrimp were small; cooked fine; crab cake cooked fine but flavor nothing exceptional. 2) Blackened Chicken Fettuccini was sparse on noodles diner liked it, but unfortunately it came with olives & she hates olives - felt olives should be disclosed in the menu. 4) Calamari ordered dinner entree was greasy which obscured flavor of the seafood. 5) Seared Sea Scallops were perfection - prepared perfect, tender, light sear - crab potato hash lovely - definitely order this again.
Redemption is the courtesy, respect & concern we received from the manager who came to the aid of the waitress to address the issues & was truly appreciated. Offer to replace 2 entrees was made. A new order of seafood & alternative to the pasta was offered and came promptly. Desserts were generously comped. The highlight of the night was the FAB Banana Cream Pie & SINFUL Chocolate Silk Pie - both heavenly.
We will be back due to the care, concern and professional demeanor of the staff. Some food left much to be desired.
Cramped booth seating. I am a large framed man. Busy due to Thanksgiving holiday service.
We have dined at this restaurant many times over the years, but this time we were surprised to find the lobby packed with guests standing around waiting for their tables when we arrived for our reservation. Other guests experienced about a 30 min wait before they were seated and our wait was similar. Once seated we had another long wait to receive the wine we ordered. The holiday turkey dinner was only average in comparison to other holiday meals we have had at this restaurant. Given the demand on the kitchen it was "okay" but not up to par with previous visits. While the staff was pleasant as they tried to cope with the demand, in retrospect I would have thought that the restaurant would have offered us some accommodation for the delays. I did not ask (or make a fuss), but the only thing I can think is that they just horribly overbooked the restaurant & I do hope that this is not a new business practice for M&S!
Food & service were was very good'
We plan on coming back soon & often.
Even though we had reservations we had to wait 25 minutes. A little an outing, but not a deal breaker.
40 minute wait after reservation time and arrived 5-10 minutes early. They didn’t plan well for table turnover on Thanksgiving.
Seated on time. Terrific Manhattans.Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. Bisque was delicious. Salad with cheese crumbles and walnut dressing outstanding. Huge portions for turkey, dressing etc. Server said they planned to cook 72 turkeys for an expected 1000 guests. Recommended wine selection was perfect and fairly priced.Desert was a chocolate cake that was over the top.
We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary and Thanksgiving dinner at this location. The meals were excellent and also a very nice atmosphere for the Christmas season that approach us. I am very glad that you decorate the hotel there so beautifully in Edina, Minnesota! The staff was also very friendly and very courteous and accommodating.
Server brought main course when we had only finished half our soup/salad.... we had asked for an order to go..family member that couldn't make it out....asked for gravy on the side plus extra....got to destinatination....NO GRAVY...NO BREAD...Ran to cub for jar of Gravy and Bread... Not our normal McCormick and Schmick experience....pretty disapointed and certainly not the normal service we receive......WAITER....EACH TABLE IS IMPORTANT..WHEN YOU ARE IN YOUR BIGGEST HURRY...SLOW DOWN...pay attention...and make your customer is your priority....I will certainly go back to McCormick & Schmick's based on passed experience...but next time will not accept "waiter's hurry to get them in, get them out, collect my tip!!!
We love going here, always so welcoming and the food is amazing!!
Fabulous service and food made for a fantastic birthdays celebration for both of us. Thank you
We were seated at a corner table that provided privacy for s business lunch. It was also relatively quiet so much appreciated!
Service was slow. Food was cold. Order was inaccurate. Sat 4 at a table for 6 and they didn’t remove unneeded tableware. Made it cramped.
Not what I expect for high end restaurant that have been to several times.
$300.00 I will never get back. Value was about $50.
While the food was a fair value my wife's pasta and salmon dish was really not very creative. if fact, it appeared to be some pasta in a cream sauce with some chunks of salmon dropped into it. I think we were expecting more from such a great restaurant.
Was there for Veterans Day and had the buttermilk shrimp which was excellent.
First, what a great thing for M nice and freshly baked and soft. Thanks again for honoring our Vets!
We went for the free Veteran’s meal. Which is very generous so thanks. But the salmon was way over cooked and the fillet medallions seemed more like strip steak sliced into pieces.
It was freezing in the restaurant. Won't sit by a window again. No heat coming from register.
Otherwise, everything was great.
Everything was fine EXCEPT the Cedar Plank salmon which was so grossly overcooked neither I nor my wife could finish it. Fine seafood restaurant like M&S should have done much better
Lovely gesture for the Veterans. Than you.
The beef medallions, Arnie Palmer, and vegetable were quite good; but the potatoes came without butter or gravy. After a few minutes, they were cold and stiff. Perhaps for Memorial Day and next year's Veterans Day this could be corrected.
The service by the staff was top notch from the second of arrival to help leaving. The wait staff were superb. The food was outstanding and the dessert was as good as we have tasted. Thank you so much for your efforts for remembering veterans.
Thank you so much from all the vets! Thank you also for my wonderful birthday treat on my birthday!
Overall enjoyable, food good, not great. Good service and ambiance. Minuses- undercooked vegetables, salad was forgotten until I asked about it after the meal was brought. Server asked me if he should take it off the bill (don't make this my problem, you forgot it. Do the right thing and just take it off without making me the bad guy). Seated us by the front door- cold and drafty.
Amazing food and service. Went for Veterans meal and server was awesome and food was incredible!!
Server was great. Food terrible. Nothing more to say.
Family had mixed experience with food. Favorite Service was really off- very slow and and how the server handled my using Landrys points towards our large family gathering was inappropriate- announcing it to the whole table loudly vs just discreetly handling with me. Food was mainly good - just a couple of misses. Shrimp kisses appetizer was great as always. Caesar salads wonderful. Trout was disappointing-didn’t seem fresh. Fried shrimp was overcooked. Ahi tuna and two other dishes were perfect- and request for Almondine walleye was met and very good.
We will certainly go back but would ask for different server.
