Waiter was slow to take our order(15 minutes). Simple order with appetizers and salad. Appetizers came out in a reasonable time. After our appetizers were cleared we waited over a half hour for our salads. Gave up, canceled our salads and asked for the check. Suddenly our salads appeared but we were already done with the over experience and elected to leave. Not a notable first experience at McCormick and Schmicks and I would be unlikely to try it again.
Overall good. The only real area for improvement was that it took about 20-30 min before anyone came by to get even our drink order. Once we were noticed things improved but we sat for a while.
Seated right away. Delicious food - bread that is outstanding.
This was a business meal, and we were very happy with the preparation of the entrees, and our server, Michael. Michael provided great recommendations and was very engaging. Great all around dining event! Check out the photo of the lobster cobb salad - it was delicious!
Food was good, especially the gazpacho soup. But service was slow, even for a Friday evening. Took an hour + 15 to receive the entrée. And another +15 to receive the check after asking for it.
I made a reservation for lunch with a good friend and was surprised that we were seated in an open table in the center with really high noise level. There were available booths but they said they were not available. Food was good, it was a nice lunch but we had to sit next to each other rather than across to be able to converse.
Terrible service... had to wait 10 minutes to get water... it was a Wed night and not that busy...took a while to get our drinks from the bar. I was not impressed with the food.. it was average.
Waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. Service was friendly but spotty or slow. Might have been busy with other tables.
Honestly I wish I’d gone somewhere else!
The food is always good, but the service is lacking. I spoke with the manager who is addressing our concerns. We’ll see if anything improves during our next visit.
I think the kitchen was moving a bit slow. Waiter was good.
Terribly slow and inattentive waiter.
Our second time in a week. Repeat visit as good as the first! Highly recommend!
The best part of the experience was the excellent service we received. The calamari appetizer was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. The only complaint I have is the asparagus side was only a few asparagus and very woody. It's like they ran out of asparagus. Also one small thing - it was happy hour, but we could only get happy hour prices at the bar, not seated at our table. Overall, fantastic dinner and would highly recommend.
I was underwhelmed with the overall experience. I probably will stick with happy hour instead of dinner.
It was a first time visit for some out of town friends. We had a booth in a quiet area. Perfect for spending time catching up. The food was delicious...service was excellent! Definitely will go here again.
Steak cooked perfectly very tender and great flavors. Save room for dessert! The upside down apple pie is amazing! Wonderful experience!
We loved the food and the time together! Our server was great and she laughed with us. A totally positive experience. I did forget to bring my free birthday dessert coupon which expired on the 17th - that very day😌 Maybe next year I will use one!
Poor food for the price
The service was not very good. Our server was an order taker, no suggestive selling, no guided tour of the menu, provided no recommendations, put his elbow and back of the hand in our face when pouring wine, asked about the specials and the server said they are at the top of the menu in the box, tickets times between courses was too long, New England Clam Chowder was Luke warm and had to return all 3 cups, trying to get waters, beers and wine refilled was like pulling teeth. The MOD / Manager didn’t walk the dinning room our visit tables. She had no clue what was going on in her restaurant. I could go on and on but we will never go back there again. $500.00 meal was a waste. BTW another person joined our table and it took 41 minutes for a MW steak / filet.
Hostess appeared bothered to seat us upon entering. Server was friendly but awkward. For example, he took our drink orders then just walked away before we could say anything else (the restaurant was mostly empty). Caesar salad was slightly brown, very vinegary, and unusual but not not quite bad enough to send back. Clam chowder soup was similar in that it had a decent flavor but was only slightly warmer than room temperature. Main entrees were quite good. Server randomly started trying to make small talk with us towards the end of the meal.
Excellent seafood experience, great staff, wonderful location with free parking in the garage on weekends and evenings.
Somewhat mediocre pasta dishes - over-cooked and lacking flavor. Perhaps their pricier options are better - we did not order one of their beef or signature fish dishes.
The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Sustainable Scottish salmon with saffron was superb, as was the rockfish. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Service was the worst was ignored for the first 30 min. Not even water. Waiting on the back end as well the check took at least 20 min from when I requested it. What should have been a 2 hour business dinner was a 3.5 hour debacle. Never again avoid this chain.
I've visited M&S numerous times but not since the takeover by Landry's. M&S has been "fundamentally transformed" by the group behind Bubba Gump and Rainforest Cafe into just another overpriced mass-market corporate restaurant with upscale pretensions. The menu includes an awful lot of shrimp dishes and crabmeat, with fancy garnishes such as "finely shaved flavored ice" (only $1.50 extra) which shows they're catering to a less discriminating clientele.
I noticed a lot of very casual attire and work uniforms - not normally found in fine restaurants. We were seated and an energetic young man introduced himself as our waiter. Before he even took our drink order, he pitched us on Landry's Select Club® which we found somewhat crass, given the setting.
For appetizers my wife had the Tableside (Ahi) Tartare, which was great, and lobster bisque, which was not. It tasted okay but was as thick as wallpaper paste, which seems to be something corporate restaurants have decided people want. I had the Calamari "Fritto Misto" which was just a big pile of fried calamari like you'd get anywhere, with about a shot glass sized container of sauce. I asked for more sauce but never got it.
My wife had Grilled Maryland Rockfish served over what amounted to a scaled down cioppino and was pretty tasty. They were featuring grilled Sottish Wild Isles Salmon but they also offered it pan-seared with a mushroom risotto which looked better so I tried that. My "pan-seared" salmon had clearly been grilled, was oily and overcooked. The risotto was dry and the mushrooms were in big chunks that appeared to have been sauteed and tossed into a pre-prepared risotto. We passed on desert.
Bear in mind that we were expecting the original M&S, not Landry's corporate mediocrity, so my remark may not apply if you never dined there pre-Landry's. If you want casual dining with upscale trappings - and a price to match - then you may find McCormick & Schmick's a suitable dining experience.
M&S is always a great place to have a good meal. The lobster bisque was delicious.
I'll continue to go back and recommend it to friends.
Enjoyed a wonderful seafood dinner with my son, visiting from out of town. The salmon special was perfectly done, moist and tender. The wait staff was very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend and will return again for a special treat.
Megan(sp) was fantastic! We were celebrating my parents’ two birthdays and she took special care of us! Our dinner ended up lasting a long time because we weren’t in a hurry and were enjoying visiting, and Megan didn’t make us feel rushed in the slightest! She was very kind, cool under pressure (we’re a bit of a high maintenance bunch), and a total professional! I’ve been in F&B for over 10 years, and was so impressed! Would definitely return and ask for her again! Thank you for such a great experience!
Seared Octopus appetizer was great and unique. We both enjoyed our salmon. Desert menu was limited. Recommend a bottle of wine. Waiter was very friendly.
The food was pretty good. The steak was a bit chewy, which was slightly disappointing--though I understand this is a seafood restaurant. But, overall it was a nice night.
Very insulted by the server. When we requested for additional bread as only 2 half loafs were provided for the party of 5, he said he will bring more WHEN we finished the original basket, which was not enough for the 5 of us to begin with. In addition, he spilled the food on us during packing. He noticed it but did not even apologized. Your restaurant has a horrible review on Yelp. In addition, your Tysons location has been shut down. This is very disturbing.
Service was exceptionally great. Our server went out of her way to assist and serve. Also, the manager visited our table to check on us.
Unfortunately, the wait service and the food was horrible. The waiter took about 10 minutes to finally greet us. Ordered cocktails about 5 minutes later waiter came back to ask us again what cocktails we ordered. Ordered food and the food seemed to be previously frozen. For the amount you pay it should be fresh or close to it. The salmon I ordered was supposed to be stuffed with crab and shrimp. It was only stuffed with crab and when asked the waiter if the salmon was stuffed with both he said no it’s only stuffed with crab. I asked for the menu and indeed it stated crab and shrimp. At the end of dinner ordered cappuccino in which it took 10 minutes to receive and it was luke warm. Spent $62.00 on food I could have easily received at a lower end restaurant. Extremely disappointed.
We eat at McCormick & Scmick's every year for Valentine's Day as our tradition. This was our fourth year coming to this location and while it was still an enjoyable evening, this year felt a little less special. I can appreciate the need to get as many customers in on a special day like Valentine's Day but there almost seemd to be too many people and often then service suffered.
We made a reservation and still had to wait about 15-20 minutes.
I had the pleasure of Cleveland being my waiter and he was excellent!
We are Landry club members and come often but tonight was a total miss from timing to food especially dry steak to having to ask manager to check on food. A bit disappointed to say the least.
As a member of Landry’s Club and presenting the membership card, the host didn’t greet us or acknowledged us until he decided he was ready to check us in.
Previous experiences with the club, someone comes to your table to greet you and verify everything is ok, not in this occasion.
A five long inches hair was in my son’s burger, someone came to tell us that they were sorry and will follow up to replace the meal, that person never came back. After receiving the burger, we all had finished eating and he couldn’t eat any more.
No one came to offer any more drinks or offer any water I’m refills.
Honestly, we expected better for this class of restaurant.
Slow slow service to the point of excruciating annoyance. Lunch took 1 hour 40 minutes and it’s not because I was chatting.
