McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Cincinnati Ratings and Reviews
My experience was very mixed. I flew into Cincinnati from Washington D.C. to celebrate a friend's birthday. I have always wanted to try it so I made a reservation. Everyone was welcoming and the ambiance was great as well. Upon returning to Washington D.C. I had noticed on my banking account that i was charged a different amount than I signed for, I had also left a cash tip. I am awaiting a call from a Manager to retfiy the matter.
Girlfriend dinner ok. Bread plates taken and not replaced when bread finally came out after appetizer. My dinner beef medallions add lobster tail. 4 pieces of beef (Half of my gf 6 oz fillet size total) ordered medium got one of each: med/rare, med, med/well, well done. Lobster tail the size of a crawfish tail. Know of other restaurants I will frequent with better quality of food and service for roughly the same price.
The entire staff was friendly, pleasant and professional from the hostesses to the wait staff to the manager. The food was very good. The lighting was a bit dim. We are young hearted senior citizens and had difficulty seeing the menu due to the low lighting. Overall our experience was remarkable.
Excellent service . Food was amazing, one of the best Valentine's day I've had. I had the raspberry mule it was one of the best cocktails I've had. Overall great experience. It is a little pricey but it's worth it. My husband and myself with defiantly be back.
Music too loud, even after we requested they turn it down. Chair cushion worn out. Food tasted ok but seemed old, nothing was even warm. Acknowledged our anniversary verbally repeatedly but did nothing else. While the restaurant was beautiful the value or quality was not there. Thanks for asking.
Great experience overall. Service and food was perfect. Only thing off was the music. Weird to complain about I know but the music didn't match the atmosphere of a nice restaurant. Very small complaint just giving my opinion. But thank you for great food. Will be back!
Brought my son for his 21st birthday along with two of his college friends. It was a perfect dinner and our server was very helpful in recommending drinks, to appetizers, to entrees to 3 college students who are used to fast food restaurants. The restaurant is classy while not being stuffy.
I think that the extensive menu lead to the kitchen being over worked, overwhelmed and distracted. My dish (almond crusted trout) arrived with green beans so raw I could have stabbed the plate and they wouldn’t have bent. When I pointed this out to our server she said “oh” offered no apology or explanation. The fish was surrounded by an oily flavorless sauce and paired with a bland undercooked orzo salad. A bizarre mixture of textures and flavors, but the fish was well cooked of not over crusted.
Other members of the party spoke highly of the andouille Mac and cheese, and of the Kobe “style” burger. Only fault with the latter was that the burger was overloaded with aioli and sauces causing the buns to be wet and inedible towards the end.
I am somewhat confused that a pint of Guinness cost less than a cucumber and mint lemonade.
Despite being a Cincinnati fave, I shall not be returning or recommending.
Dined here on 2/3/18 for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed our experience! Arrived on time for our reservation and were seated immediately. Very friendly and attentive wait staff who explained menu and specials and made excellent recommendations. Great menu of craft cocktails, wine and beer selections. Only criticism -- the lighting is dim (nice ambiance!) but it was a little difficult to read the smaller print on the menu! The recommended shrimp appetizer was yummy! We both had the field greens salad with the candied walnuts and the balsamic house dressing was delicious. My 6 oz filet mignon was prepared as ordered and the truffle butter was a good complement, and the asparagus was nice and crisp just how I like it. My husband had the featured salmon entree and loved it. If you go, you MUST get the chocolate bag dessert! Perfect for two, a molded chocolate bag holding white chocolate mousse with delightful berries mixed in.
We went to McCormick and Schmick’s before the Jerry Seinfeld show. I ordered the lobster tails. They and the sides were lukewarm. Everyone else enjoyed their dinner, including bourbon-glazed Salmon, Blackened Chicken pasta, fish and chips, and steak. We were in a semi-private area by request, which was great.
It has been awhile since we have been to this restaurant and have had good food in the past. Not this time. $41 crab legs that were poor to mediocre. I myself had a pasta dish that the sauce was good but some of the pasta was clumped together like what happens when you don't stir it while it is cooking. Overall the pasta was not that overwhelming. We had wedge salads that were no better than average. The bloody marry was good and the creme brulee was good. The server was pleasant but the entrees were very very slow coming to the table. Our bill for 2 people was $100 pre tip. For the price, the food needed to be way, way, way better. We were very disappointed. So much so that I don't think we will ever be back.
The best part was the hostess and the appetizers the hostess was kind enough to seat us early and the mussel appetizer was amazing. I asked if a particular drink I liked could be made and I'm pretty sure it was just pink lemonade. If you can't make a particular drink say so I would have ordered something else no problem. Then once we got our main course my lobster tail was burnt and my MEDIUM steak was rare with plenty of red throughout. My boyfriend who had ordered the tuna special for the night didn't enjoy his meal but that was his personal taste. Note most people when they have such issues would talk to their server and normally I would have said something after having so many problems. But she only came to our table at a max of 4 times that night. We were seated right next to the kitchens and didn't see her most of the night. This was our first anniversary and we wanted to go have something nice. We will not be coming back and I wouldn't suggest anyone who wants what they pay for to attend either.
We ate here before a play at the Aronoff. It also was part of a birthday celebration. All the meals we ordered were excellently prepared and were delicious. The appetizer and desserts we had were also excellent. Service was great, as was the wine we ordered. We will definitely go back again!
