If you’re looking for excellent seafood for lunch, McCormick and Schmick’s will not disappoint! Delicious food and quality, personal service. Make sure you order the calamari for an app and save room for dessert!
The service was not very good our waiter was not very tentative the salads were wilted the special of the day was very dry failed to take it off the bill we had to get a manager the shrimp on the stuffed shrimp was very very small over all not good food very dated the ambience is just not there
I remember this restaurant being much better. Service was subpar. Our waiter didn’t seem very clear on some of the menu availability. The food was very overpriced for some very basic dishes. I could get a no frills salmon filet with vegetables for a third of the price at Longhorn. Not even a special preparation. The restaurant itself is still nice but there isn’t anything else worth returning for.
We have always gotten great service and good food.
Amazing! Consistently first class, delicious experience. Great servers. I went for Mother’s Day and they really made it special!
It would nice to have a more expanded brunch menu. But they did accommodate the kids with eggs, bacon, toast, & fruit!
We really enjoyed our evening - being from out of town … I would say even better then we expected. The only down side was we expected valet as stated and it was not available and parking garage was a bit of a walk for my daughter who walks with a crutch and it was raining. Overall loved it - and our server Bryon was outstanding!
Mother’s Day Eve dinner
This food was good I’ve had better for the price. The worst part is they brought out melter butter for me and it was in a scorching hot metal container. Prolly the most inconsiderate thing they could think of. And didn’t tell me it was hot. I ended up burning my finger. The server who was amazing gave me burn gel. And the manager came by and apologized. It could have been less noisy and better ambiance for the price I go to many restaurants of this stature if not better all the time. And this was my first time here. Wasn’t bad would recommend but would also weigh my options.
Food was amazing and the service was awesome. Location was perfect for us
Great food and great service in a convenient location!
They called and confirmed that we would be coming and that it was for a special occasion. They even told me that they would be printing out a special menu for a birthday. Then, when we got there they seemed to have lost the reservation and told us we would have to wait for three more tables to be set up before we could be seated. We told them we would be waiting at the bar and they forgot to come get us when the table was ready. We had to go to the front to see when we would be seated and then they miraculously had a table ready for us. We had to ask the waiter if there were any particular fresh fish or specials that evening. The salad was underwhelming and the suggested salmon was then overcooked.
Overall I was really disappointed. Moral of the story...don’t over promise and under deliver.
We had a reservation and got there a few minutes early. We went to grab a drink at the bar but it was full, took a long time for bartender to acknowledge us, by the time they did the table was ready. Seemed like mass confusion to get our drinks actually back to our table. It was a Sunny warm day outside and equally as hot inside. We did note we were there for a special occasion; not once did they inquire what it was for. Fried calamari and salads were good. Filet seemed a bit dry, but alright. Vegetables were good but crunchy, potatoes were just okay. Grilled shrimp were a bit dry and much smaller than expected. Salmon was also dried out and overseasoned. Everything was a bit salty. We weren't blown away, if you're looking for a nice meal, it will work. If you're looking for a good steak, try another steakhouse.
Our waitress was excellent. Seafood was very good and steaks were prepared as desired. Best part of the meal was the calamari. Would definitely recommend.
Great service by server and other folks, too. Wonderful food.
Great food, comfortable atmosphere and great service. Unfortunately the happy hour well drinks were a bit watered down. Tons of ice and very little bourbon.
Great Lunch with reasonable.prices! SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING
Horrible. Out of many items. Server never came back. We told them we had theater tickets and food took over an hour. Food did not come out at the same time and manager did not adjust our bill. Very disappointing and will not return.
Ahi Tuna Appetizer was awesome, atmosphere was quiet and subdued , a very enjoyable and reralxing meal for our daughters 21st birthday. fairly good service, meals priced fairly for the quality. i would recommend to friends and family.
The service was as incredible as the food and atmosphere, our family will certainly visit again!
Food was excellent and good value
Server was very attentive, quick to provide refills on coffee and water
The service was so poor, we left before ordering dinner. The whole operation is dysfunctional. Hope they fix whatever is wrong.
We dined here for a birthday dinner, the atmosphere was very nice and elegant. Great food and wonderful service! Will recommend to friends and family to attend here.
Visiting from out of town. Restaurant was around the corner. Our waiter was new and the restaurant kindly warned us just in case. But our waiter was pretty good! We wish him great success, he was friendly and attentive. Food was amazing, excellent!
The service was fantastic. We both enjoyed our meal. I had the crab & shrimp stuffed salmon and my husband had the ribeye. They were both excellent choices. We had the white chocolate mouse in a dark chocolate basket for dessert.
We felt that the environment was Very Loud and tables are way to close to each other. We could hear others conversations and it was very distracting therefore difficult to hear the conversation at our own table. The food was mediocre and therefore WAY overpriced. We had Chesapeake Oysters to start and some were the size of a dime. At 2.75 each that was disappointing. For the most part the service was good but somewhat slow and it seemed as though we were waiting too long for drinks to be replenished. Overall, it was just a fair experience for our group of 4. I know for at least 3 of us we won't be back.
Food was excellent from tuna appetizer to salmon special. Service was spotty starting with checkin which seemed very disorganized. We arrived 12 minutes early for our reservation and waited all 12 before I checked back and did not seem to be aware I was still waiting. I find this frustrating in that there were many tables available. Table service was fair but the second frustration of the evening was as. Landry club member the server defers to the captain to deliver the credit card with receipt. Our server knew we were going to the show and this handling was not appreciated. We generally enjoy McCormicks but the service of the evening was not what we normally receive.
Food was very good, well prepared, wide variety of choices on the menu. Room was very dark and cave like in the area we were seated, even in the early evening where there was still plenty of ambient light outside. We saw several diners using the lights on their cellphones to read the menu.
The food and service were very good! We had a wonderful dinner.
Family of five, had a very poor experience.
Our family has some food intolerances - we called ahead and a staff did not know the menu.
Seated right away, waited 20 min for anyone to show up at our table. We had to go remind staff we were there. Took another 10 minutes to get a server.
As we asked questions about ingredients, definitely felt like we were a bother for asking.
Took 1 hour to get salads. Food took another 30 min after that.
Fish (salmon and Swordfish) were like jerky. Mashed potatoes were paste. The plates had obviously been held under a warming light for a while. Green beans were severely undercooked. Salads were pretty good.
Talked with the GM, and he did the right thing and fell on his sword, but it wasn’t just bad planning; front-of-house and back-of-house were both underwhelming.
I’ve been to other M&S restaurants and had good experiences, but if this one looks busy at all - definitely skip - much better restaurants in the area to waste a good night on this chain.
Service poor, long wait for food. Appetizers, salad, soup all came at once. Had to ask for poor drinks. Had to ask waitress to take away plates that I had stacked for her.
My family and I were first time guests for a birthday celebration, and the hostesses were welcoming and cheery immediately. We were seated in a very intimate table for 4, handed personalized menus congratulating my mother in laws birthday, and our wonderful celebration started right then and there. We live by Kings Island and our parents don't venture to downtown Cincinnati anymore. Enjoying a celebration at McCormick and Schmicks is the best way to start a reminiscing visit to downtown Cincinnati. The food was fabulous and we will visit again. Thanks again to the entire team that made our first visit a lasting impression. We look forward to dining there again.
It was great. Unbeknownst to us it was restaurant week, and we ordered off that menu. It was well done and very good. The service was friendly and professional, overall an excellent dining experience
Chopped salads were all delicious! Salmon and chicken.
Can't say enough about the great customer service I get every time I visit.
Everything great except music. For such a subdued lighting setting the music was raucous and too loud.
Our waiter Christian could not have been nicer or more professional.
We had a good experience. The food was good although the portions were small for the price. The lobster tail was very tender but a little crunchy in spots. The lobster in the mashed potatoes was a little chewy. The seats by the window were nice to people watch, but you almost felt like you were falling forward a little in the seats. Servers were very nice and helpful. I would go back, but these few things kept me from giving a 5 star.
We used to love McCormick and Schmick's; however, my most recent visit was not good. The restaurant wasn't at all busy; however...
The server repeatedly forgot to bring food and drinks
The shrimp cocktail featured shrimp much smaller than we have had in the past
The lobster was of poor quality and one tail had to be replaced.
I know restaurants have off nights. The server was very nice (just forgetful), the manager was very accommodating, and the rest of the staff was genuinely helpful, but everything seemed way off normal at this location. Considering the price point of M&S, I always expect something a step above an average restaurant experience and, in this case, I expected too much.
On a weeknight, reservation was made at 7pm. Table was not ready until 7:30.
Server did not check on water throughout the meal. Food took over 1 hr and 20 minutes to arrive from time we were seated.
