We dined here for a birthday dinner, the atmosphere was very nice and elegant. Great food and wonderful service! Will recommend to friends and family to attend here.
Visiting from out of town. Restaurant was around the corner. Our waiter was new and the restaurant kindly warned us just in case. But our waiter was pretty good! We wish him great success, he was friendly and attentive. Food was amazing, excellent!
The service was fantastic. We both enjoyed our meal. I had the crab & shrimp stuffed salmon and my husband had the ribeye. They were both excellent choices. We had the white chocolate mouse in a dark chocolate basket for dessert.
We felt that the environment was Very Loud and tables are way to close to each other. We could hear others conversations and it was very distracting therefore difficult to hear the conversation at our own table. The food was mediocre and therefore WAY overpriced. We had Chesapeake Oysters to start and some were the size of a dime. At 2.75 each that was disappointing. For the most part the service was good but somewhat slow and it seemed as though we were waiting too long for drinks to be replenished. Overall, it was just a fair experience for our group of 4. I know for at least 3 of us we won't be back.
Food was excellent from tuna appetizer to salmon special. Service was spotty starting with checkin which seemed very disorganized. We arrived 12 minutes early for our reservation and waited all 12 before I checked back and did not seem to be aware I was still waiting. I find this frustrating in that there were many tables available. Table service was fair but the second frustration of the evening was as. Landry club member the server defers to the captain to deliver the credit card with receipt. Our server knew we were going to the show and this handling was not appreciated. We generally enjoy McCormicks but the service of the evening was not what we normally receive.
Food was very good, well prepared, wide variety of choices on the menu. Room was very dark and cave like in the area we were seated, even in the early evening where there was still plenty of ambient light outside. We saw several diners using the lights on their cellphones to read the menu.
The food and service were very good! We had a wonderful dinner.
Family of five, had a very poor experience.
Our family has some food intolerances - we called ahead and a staff did not know the menu.
Seated right away, waited 20 min for anyone to show up at our table. We had to go remind staff we were there. Took another 10 minutes to get a server.
As we asked questions about ingredients, definitely felt like we were a bother for asking.
Took 1 hour to get salads. Food took another 30 min after that.
Fish (salmon and Swordfish) were like jerky. Mashed potatoes were paste. The plates had obviously been held under a warming light for a while. Green beans were severely undercooked. Salads were pretty good.
Talked with the GM, and he did the right thing and fell on his sword, but it wasn’t just bad planning; front-of-house and back-of-house were both underwhelming.
I’ve been to other M&S restaurants and had good experiences, but if this one looks busy at all - definitely skip - much better restaurants in the area to waste a good night on this chain.
Service poor, long wait for food. Appetizers, salad, soup all came at once. Had to ask for poor drinks. Had to ask waitress to take away plates that I had stacked for her.
My family and I were first time guests for a birthday celebration, and the hostesses were welcoming and cheery immediately. We were seated in a very intimate table for 4, handed personalized menus congratulating my mother in laws birthday, and our wonderful celebration started right then and there. We live by Kings Island and our parents don't venture to downtown Cincinnati anymore. Enjoying a celebration at McCormick and Schmicks is the best way to start a reminiscing visit to downtown Cincinnati. The food was fabulous and we will visit again. Thanks again to the entire team that made our first visit a lasting impression. We look forward to dining there again.
It was great. Unbeknownst to us it was restaurant week, and we ordered off that menu. It was well done and very good. The service was friendly and professional, overall an excellent dining experience
Chopped salads were all delicious! Salmon and chicken.
Can't say enough about the great customer service I get every time I visit.
Everything great except music. For such a subdued lighting setting the music was raucous and too loud.
Our waiter Christian could not have been nicer or more professional.
We had a good experience. The food was good although the portions were small for the price. The lobster tail was very tender but a little crunchy in spots. The lobster in the mashed potatoes was a little chewy. The seats by the window were nice to people watch, but you almost felt like you were falling forward a little in the seats. Servers were very nice and helpful. I would go back, but these few things kept me from giving a 5 star.
We used to love McCormick and Schmick's; however, my most recent visit was not good. The restaurant wasn't at all busy; however...
The server repeatedly forgot to bring food and drinks
The shrimp cocktail featured shrimp much smaller than we have had in the past
The lobster was of poor quality and one tail had to be replaced.
I know restaurants have off nights. The server was very nice (just forgetful), the manager was very accommodating, and the rest of the staff was genuinely helpful, but everything seemed way off normal at this location. Considering the price point of M&S, I always expect something a step above an average restaurant experience and, in this case, I expected too much.
On a weeknight, reservation was made at 7pm. Table was not ready until 7:30.
Server did not check on water throughout the meal. Food took over 1 hr and 20 minutes to arrive from time we were seated.
My wife and I decided to get fancy and drive 1.5 hours come here for our anniversary. We got Calamari and Oysters Rockefeller for appetizer, she got the filet Minion with twin lobster tails, and I got the king crab legs. We had the expectation that this place was suppose to be more upscale and better food than your average seafood chain. It was fancy, and very nice, a great bar, and great service; but the food was no better, if not worse than Red Lobster. We spent $176 between the two of us, so we expected better food. I guess the rich people just go there to be more fancy.
Server was very good. Center cut ribeye was a little tough and stuffed salmon was dry, not much flavor.
We went there for happy hour appetizers and drinks. It was ok, shrimp and oysters didn’t seem very fresh, cheese cake not fresh either. Potty mouthed patrons in neighboring booth. Staff is nice.
We waited over 20 minutes for drinks. We received our food an hour and fifteen minutes after we ordered. My food was cold & by the time I got it back my husband was almost done eating. It was our Anniversary dinner, the chef did buy us dessert but our overall experience was not good.
First we were seated by the car port of the hotel. My fiancé asked to be moved. We were moved to a booth where the waiter was extremely busy already, there was 2 couples behind us and one of the ladies was either drunk or just talks extremely loud. We could hear her entire conversation on how she calls her husband, daddy. The table of 5 diagonally across from us were being extremely rude to the staff. The food was ok for what we paid. The waiter did try his best but was so busy that he couldn’t be at his best. I was very disappointed. I have eaten there before but my fiancé hadn’t and he will never go back.
We really enjoyed our experience. Being our first time, we had no idea what to expect, but were hoping for the best. We loved everything. Especially our server, Amara.
We split the mussels and shrimp cocktail appetizers. And we also split our entrees. We ordered the crab and shrimp stuffed salmon, on Amara's recommendation and it did not disappoint. It was delicious. I wouldn't recommend this as a dish to be shared size wise, but we were also sharing the bone in ribeye. Together, it was more than a meal, and our own kind of surf and turf.
We enjoyed our prosecco sangrias and dessert, as well. The dessert options were amazing and hard to choose from, but we settled on the Chocolate Bag and the Up side down Apple pie. Both crazy good, and big enough that we could have shared either.
Thank you for a great date night from 2 parents who rarely get a night like that! Thank yoy Amara for being a fun and delightful part of our evening.
My wife ordered the Alaskan King Crab it was great. But my order was completely wrong. My burger was cooked wrong and I asked for Chesapeake fries and were given regular fries. After I was given my food I didn’t see our server for quite awhile to change it so I just ate it. Smh 🤬
My wife and I went there to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary. The staff was so wonderful to us. They had a menu printed with our names and years of marriage at the top. Kennedy was our server and she was attentive and great at her job. Only complaint was that although the lobster bisque was delicious it was luke warm as was the coffee. Other than that two thumbs up.
Our food wasn't the best. Our server was great. My brussel sprouts were burnt and the salmon was crisp on the ends but not cooled well in the center.
The food was excellent and our waiter was wonderful!!
I was very disappointed. I was prepared to spend money for great food and service. My boyfriend and my son’s dinner was served cold and dry, it needed to be sent back. My steak had no flavor! I kept it because I didn’t want it to appear as if we wanted to complain. I told the waiter when he asked about my food that the steak was not good, and honestly I’ve had a better tasting ribeye at Texas Roadhouse for half the price. I was very disappointed! I didn’t get to eat with my boyfriend and son because their food was sent back. My bill was $240 and I did not get what I paid for. All the Mgr did was give us a dessert. I didn’t even want dessert! I chose a coffee. Slow service even after the cold food. I have spent more money on a meal at Jeff Ruby’s and I felt great about it, and I felt like I got the great food and service I paid for. If I had known this dinner, and the poor attempt at a resolution was what I was going to get, I would not have spent my time or my hard earned money there. I left feeling disappointed and like I didn’t get what I paid for!
Really went the extra step to make us feel welcome and make my wife feel special for her birthday. The food was excellent and our waitresses Kayla, sp?, was so sweet and helpful.
Prob the worst meal I have recently...I will never return...
Atmosphere was great. For good but very pricey. Service was condescending
I had lunch with a customer on the Reds Open Day and he loved it!
Walleye was flavorless. Medallions of beef were good, but portion was miniscule.
For a chain restaurant they were on top of their game. The food was good, I was a little disappointed in the brussel sprouts contain potatoes.
Nice Sunday lunch, very quiet at 2:00pm. Our second time there, service was ok, we had better when we were there for dinner.
Sat in bar area. Happy hour menu and atmosphere were great!
Food was well prepared and tasty. Service was ok but tea should be served with a teacup saucer and a small pot of water. Half a cup of hot water with no saucer is something I was not expecting in a finer restaurant.
We had the bourbon grilled salmon. Very good. For desert, we had the upside down pecan pie. Excellent. Service was excellent as well.
The overall experience was great. Christian, our server was wonderful.
We had a lovely lunch at McCormick and Schmick’s. We started with Oysters Rockeffeller and Shrimp Kisses appetizers which were delicious! There were 6 of us that got different things but the favorites were crispy fish tacos, a gigantic plate of fish and chips and a grilled chicken sandwich. Our waiter, Christian was a joy. We will definitely be back!
