Never go here. Horrible food and horrible service for how much you pay. Our waiter was unprofessional and did not take his job seriously. Stay away
2nd time we dined here and 2nd horrible experience. Service is terrible and food mediocre. The music was blasting and we had to ask 3 times to turn down the volume as we could hardly hear each other speak. We felt like we were eating at a fast food restaurant but paying top dollar. Not worth it. Do yourself a favor and pick another restaurant. We are frequent travelers to Chicago but will not be going back.
Food was very good. Service was excellent, very attentive server. They wanted to seat us at a small table in the open area (near the door) but I requested something quieter and they sat us in a very nice area along the wall w/ a privacy curtain (which we didn't use). We started with the Shrimp Kisses - yummy and just a little spicy (perfect!). My husband's rib eye steak was perfectly cooked. I thought the crab cakes were just a little bland on their own but their corn salsa was delicious & a perfect accompaniment. Green beans a little overcooked, but overall that didn't damage the meal in my opinion. We didn't have drinks or dessert (except coffee). We've eaten at some of the Seattle restaurants under the same ownership so we figured this to be a safe choice and would not require cocktail attire since we are not formal people. Good location for walking on our way to the theater (about 5 minute walk to the CIBC theater).
We went to celebrate getting our annual bonus, this place is great. Soft warm delicious bread. Delicious calamari. Non-alcoholic drinks were great. Salmon was cooked perfectly. Shrimp were delicious.
I used to like going to M&S, but this last experience was just ok. Our server seemed annoyed each time. Most importantly, the food wasn't that great this time. I ordered the lunch special with salmon saute and it had a strange combination of ingredients -- felt like an amateur chef tried to put it together. There were whole peanuts and raspberries, but the sauce was cream based and had asparagus. It was disappointing.
Absolutely fabulous! Sarah was a great waitress and made our experience all the better. She hit the nail on the head with her wine recommendation. Food was so tasty-such a relaxing atmosphere.
There were hardly three tables dining on a Sunday evening. Music was blaring loudly, which seemed surreal. There was a smell of spoiled oil or fish permeating the dining room and glassware. The oysters Rockefeller seemed to have frozen ingredients and s slab of American cheese, really disgusting. Salad dressing was old. The fish entree were reasonable and the waiter was trying to be nice, but by then we were asking “why did we come here?”, and surely decided never to set foot in that place again. How long can they stay in business in a city of great restaurants, even with a corporate name?
Steaks were amazing. Our waiter Diego was great. He took very good care of us. The rib eye and lobster mashed potatoes are incredible.
The food was fantastic. Best swordfish I have ever had. Oysters tasted like they were just taken from the ocean.
Excellent meal! Excellent service. We ate here two Saturdays in a row and both times everything was perfect! The Scottish salmon is the best I ever tasted.
Had dinner prior to an event at the Chicago theatre which was 2 blocks away. Dinner was perfect! I had the center cut ribeye and my wife had the crab legs. Ribeye was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Crab legs were open on the half shelf and fantastic. Service was good and the manager stopped by to make sure everything was meeting our expectations. Atmosphere was just right.
The service was great and the food too. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. My salmon was perfectly cooked along with the stuffed shrimp and the red pepper white cheddar mash was really good. I really enjoyed the lemon butter that came with it. The desserts ( cheesecake and apple pie) were so good. You can’t go wrong with a wedge salad either. The lobster tail appetizer was good too.
So My boyfriend and I visited here for our anniversary and our waiter was terrible. My boyfriend asked the waiter about a certain food and his reply was you’re not at Denny’s. That comment made our whole experience uncomfortable. also when we got up to pay staff who were seating people were also rude. We will never return here again
Excellent service! Great food! It's not cheap but it is worth the $ for that special occasion.
Food is excellent as always. Very accomadating with menu changes. Great time will definitely go back!
Love the food! Great atmosphere and the waiter was very nice!!! I was satisfied and will for sure be back
If I could give this zero stars I would. In a city with so much great food I should have known better than to plan a dinner here. Food was mediocre at best. Wine was verging on hot. My food was incorrect so I asked for a correction. It took them 30
Minutes to bring out a new steak... and they kept the same potatoes and veggies on the plate. The rest of my group was already long done eating by then so I told them I no longer wanted it. The manager did apologize which was appreciated, but it was not a good experience.
Waitress was so polite and well versed with the menu. I good and drinks were amazing.
We met another couple here for a nice dinner before a comedy show. The experience was absolutely awful. The food was pretty good, but the service soon made me forget how good the food was. We waited 15-20 minutes for our first round of cocktails. They brought a large bottle mineral water without any glasses. They brought out the main course before bringing out the soup we ordered. They brought my boyfriend's steak to the table, set it down, and asked to take it back after a couple of minutes, so that they could bring out all of our food together. The most bizarre experience I have ever witnessed at a steakhouse. The manager asked about our experience and we told her, she apologized and said our dessert is on the house. We ordered two desserts to split among 4 of us (which we would not have even ordered had they not said it was on them). Then they only decided to only comp one of the desserts. Worst experience ever. DO NOT GO HERE!
Waiter took forever to do anything
The service was really good. The food? Not so much. Overall it’s a nice place for a date or a business dinner.
Great service great server very attentive. Had reaervations taken immediatly to our table upon arrival.
Everything about this place was just amazing. Would definitely recommend for pescatarians.
We went there before a show. The food was very good. I had a baked Salmon dish that was excellent. My husband had a blackened fish dish that was good but the blackening spice had salt in it which he did not care for. All in all a nice meal and we would return. Nice variety of wine too
Had an enjoyable Valentine's Day date! The food was really good and our server was very friendly, funny, and accommodating!
My husband and I decided to eat here for dinner on Valentine's Day! We left our car with the valet. Once, we arrived the hostess seated us. However, we were near the edge of the staircase and I asked if we could be seated somewhere else and she was able to accommodate us after she checked the computer. We were very pleased. with our new table. Our server came over not too long afterwards and he asked for our drinks and we proceeded to provide him with our entrees for the evening. I am glad we did because it took a while for the salads to come out. The food was very tasty and the portions were the right size. Between the two of us we had a steak entree and the stuffed salmon. We enjoyed dinner, but had to wait a little while for our waiter. That is why one star was taken away for service. It didn't seem very busy, but who knows why he was missing at times. Overall, the food and price were reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant, and in particular this location to others.
Was disappointed with the location of our seating for our wedding anniversary.
The service was great, Thanks to Joe. He came ready with some fantastic recommendations. The Salmon, Oysters Rockefeller, and Shrimp Mac & Cheese were delicious!
Food was awesome as usual!! Service was impeccable!! GREAT VALENTINE DAY
Early seating for Valentine's Day pre-theater although we were 40 minutes early, it was not busy, and we were shown to our table promptly. Fabulous unrushed dining experience! Server very knowledgeable of menu items and preparations; quality of food consistent with expectations for this above average establishment.
Round Table for 6 in the back was perfect for our business meeting. Service was very good, everyone enjoyed the food. We were able to take our time and had no issues with the hearing one another.
M&S's 2-course lunch options ROCK - choice of a couple of appetizers (i chose a terrific walnut & greens salad) and one of three entrees. i had an OMG northland sauteed salmon that was PLENTIFUL and beautiful and so tasty ... lunch $16. REALLY? Found my new "regular" spot for a "nice lunch". Our server, Yancy, was amazing!
Excellent fish, fresh and swell prepared. good service.
Overall, I think this restaurant is what you would expect from a chain restaurant. It is definitely not a high-end steakhouse, though the decoration on the inside is quite nice and the restaurant is comfortable. If you're trying to take a bigger group of friends out, it would certainly be more affordable than many other restaurants in the loop or River North. So overall, it fills a need for moderately priced food in the neighborhood.
Service overall was poor. Certainly feel they could have done a much better job for me the day I was there. A large table of customers next to me seemed to get better service than me by the same waitress. Something about me being by myself just made her ignore me? Main entree came out when I was halfway done with my salad.
Ordered from the Restaurant week menu. I gave the restaurant 3/5 stars for value, which definitely was helped by the special menu. Ordering straight off the regular menu, I probably would have given it a 2/5 as the prices are a bit high for the quality of the food. That being said, I really enjoyed the salad that came as part of my meal. The steak was bland and chewy, and it lacked the nice grilled flavor you want from a steakhouse. The portion for the main meal was adequate for the price. Dessert was tasty but not especially memorable.
Our waiter Joe was great! And food was amazing.
Great service and excellent food
I ordered a bone in ribeye steak, it was horrible, the flavor was awful, there was too much fat on the selection I was given, they should remove steak from the menu or hire a Chef that takes pride in cooking because the chef cooking the night my family and I dined in sure didn't, he/she should be ashamed. On another note our server, Mike, was great.
Waiter started out slow but he was really very good in the end!
My husband and I were in for dinner about a year ago, and we were not impressed by the meal. I decided we would try again because we were in the mood for fish. We had dinner Saturday night and it was FANTASTIC! We had the Ahi Tuna and Seabass and wow! Everything was so good! We cant wait to go back!
There was a party of 25 that took away from our service. Drinks and food took forever. I ordered the filet medium but it came out medium well and dry.
