Mediocre.. but we are in a pandemic.
Food was excellent but portions very small. Prices way to high for salads entrees and drinks. We did get a free dessert for my wife’s birthday. This place is a tourist trap but choices were limited based on our location. Up charges for 4 pieces of asparagus and 3 fork fulls of spinach was a joke should have been free.
Chris Morris...the manager was the BEST EVER!!! Best customer service we ever experienced!!
It was my spouse’s 49th birthday, and er chose to celebrate at M&S! What an incredible time!!! Great food! Fantastic service! Awesome atmosphere! It was a perfect evening
The food wasn’t seasoned at all. The cost was too much for bland food.
If I could give my experience zero stars I would. Everything about this experience was awful. Let’s start from the beginning.
1: They was no social distancing. All the booths were occupied. We asked to be moved to a booth far from others. Which they accommodated.
2: We ordered two appetizers. And both were cold. Calamari and Lump Crab cake. The avocado cilantro aioli did not come with the crab cake. Just a corn and bean salad which tasted rancid.
3: We ordered 4 meals. Two herb grilled chicken, one NY Strip and lobster tail. And one classic shrimp scampi. Chicken was not well done and was chewy. Vegetables were cold. Steak was asked to be med/rare. But it was well done and cold. Lobster tail was cold. The shrimp in the scampi was breaded and cold. It did not say it was breaded on the menu.
4: we told our server that the steak was well done and cold. And she did ask if we wanted to send it back but we declined because my daughter was hungry.
Honestly, I’m not impressed with McCormick and Schmicks. Their quality has quickly declined. And for the value, I would rather just go to Flemings. I didn’t this day because they didn’t have availability.
For a dinner bill that was around $200, I would expect a decent meal. Sadly, we did not enjoy our experience and will never be returning.
My suggestion to folks considering eating here, save your money or go elsewhere - like Flemings or actually any other seafood or steak restaurant in the city. Definitely disappointed and will never return.
Food was fantastic. Everything cooked perfectly. Our waiter Jeremy was awesome. We never had to ask for anything. He was always there to make sure we were taken care of.
Sat at our table over 20 minutes and no one even acknowledged us for a drink order. So we went elsewhere.
My experience at the restaurant was exceptional, but there was a party that was loud at times and disrupted our meal. But other than that, no complaints.
Great meal and great service.
I've eaten at McCormick and Schmidt for about 10 years, I always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, this was my first time dining out since the pandemic, the waitress said she was new had only been working two weeks. It was quite obvious she was very inexperience, I order wine, it never came my biggest disappointment was no baked potato with a 40.00 steak, and to deal with an unprofessional, inexperience waitress
Dined here during Veterans appreciation period when McCormick was honoring veterans. Service was great and food was perfectly prepared.
Great meal and food was delicious. Staff was very friendly.
Great food and awesome service. Everything was amazing.
The server didn’t mention my wife’s birthday
Waitress was surly. Food was dry, overcooked, overpriced.
For the price, they did not give enough food. Spent over $100. The taste was good however we went to another restaurant to get full bc we were still hungry. Refills for a lemonade was 1.50. Like why? Other McCormicks we been too give a good portion of food so the price was great compared to the amount you get...satisfying! This one no so much.
Very accommodating considering we arrive 30 minutes prior to close. Thank you
We had our 2 year wedding anniversary here on October 20, 2020. We had Blue point oysters (great size, came with vinegar, saltine crackers, tobacco and shrimp cocktail sauce), Mussles (great broth to dip the bread in), King crab (cooked perfect but they weren't pre-cracked) with lobster mashed potatoes (delicious), asparagus (small amount), and creme brulee (the top was flamed a little too long which made the sugar topping pretty thick compared to normal, which was different. We told them it was great but they comped it when they saw it was our anniversary!). It was a Tuesday night so it was very quiet. Our server was sweet too! Great experience!
Excellent food and service. Will definitely return. We come from Cornelius.
Wedding - We got married and we went out for dinner
Good food , wonderful atmosphere, great service. Will definitely go back soon .
Birthday party during Covid-19
There was NO social distancing in this place ar all. Nearly every table was full. Some of the wait staff had on mask while others had then pulled down on their chin. Spoke with the manager on the way out ( he didn't even have a mask at all), he said that the spacing was open to interpretation. The wife said the lady's restroom was filthy.
We really enjoyed our dinner. All food was cooked well, but the mashed potatoes were a bit bland and the lobster tail was small for the price.
Best steak I’ve had in years and I’ve traveled all over the country. Very fast and energetic service. Ambiance is great! Would suggest a dress code (casual attire, colored shirt for men, all body parts covered for women). Was shocked at how some people show up dressed for dinner at a restaurant like this. Some were clothed more suitable for fast food. Very off putting.
No social distancing. All the booths were full. Tables were distanced, but they packed every booth.
The food was excellent! Great value! Located in an exciting part of downtown. Atmosphere was very nice and calming.
The only problem I had old lipstick on my martini glass
Overall good. Great prices for seafood etc. One sangria I tried was terrible. Moved on to a drink and added a house vodka shot to it. Well it was Tito’s which I’m pleased with. But a 2 oz shot of Tito’s is apparently $11 which I thought ridiculous... I know you mark up alcohol and all but that’s pretty high
Food was just okay. We go to many restaurants but the food was just average.
Waitress refused to wear mask. Raised voices to speak of music.
Well the server Angel was actually good. She can’t do more than what the kitchen does. The kitchen was very slow especially being that it was no one really in the restaurant. So the food was slow. The bread took about the same time as the food. The food was slightly cold and not cooked per requested. The lobster tail was not fried well. It was soggy. The crab cakes were soggy and falling all over the place. The mashed potatoes were cold. The shrimp scampi was very dosed with wine which had to be sent back since it was for a child. Sadly even the drinks were flat. The sprite was. Honestly the last couple of times I’ve gone and this was back in November the service wasn’t that great. I’m going to take a break from this place for a while.
Great food, service and ambience. Bartender Devin recommended great food amd wine. Give the shrimp kisses a try!
My grilled chicken sandwich was bland. No flavorat all. I was disappointed. Presentation of food was great.
The food was great. The took care of us personally after a small seating problem.
My husband and I were running a little late to our reservation but they still sat us and were super friendly. Our waitress was amazing and our food was impeccable. I will definitely be coming back.
It was our anniversary and we were able to reserve table 421, which is our favorite table. Food was delicious and service was phenomenal.
Everything was great; food, service and ambiance. However it is always cold inside the restaurant. It was so cold our party had to wear our sweaters and jackets while eating.
Food wasn’t very good and our server wasn’t very attentive at all, we won’t be going back.
