McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Charlotte (Tryon Street) Ratings and Reviews
Honestly the food there is not worth the money. Average PPP was about $95, and we all left out wanting the nearest street vendor for after dinner snack. The deserts were the best part of the entire meal in all honesty. White chocolate bread pudding was the only saving grace.
We had come to town for New Years and were looking for a location that was close to where we were staying and had great reviews. After checking many locations we selected this restaurant. The food was amazing and so was the service was a prefect date night fir New Years Eve.
After walking in, the hostess asked for the reservation name and never said anything else until we asked her if we were being seated, very rude. The reservation was made over a week in advance and there was a request for personalized menus, they did not have the menus). After being seated every waitress/waiter walked by as if we were invisible. After being passed by for about 10 minutes, we asked for a manger, the manager never came. I finally got a waiters attention and asked if anyone had any intention on serving us. He stated, that he was sorry and he would take our order (9x out of 10 he was probably our waiter because he was waiting on the table behind and beside us). It took another 10 mins for our water to come out, and the appetizers came out about 5 minutes before the food.
Texted the number on the valet ticket for my car, 10 minutes later the car is still not outside. I go out to ask the valet service about my car...he states that the number no longer works! Oh, well thank you for letting me know!
I’ve waited so long to finally eat at this restaurant and It was not a pleasing first visit.
We went for a birthday celebration. The restaurant exceeded our expectations. Our waiter Brad, was very attentive and efficient. He added to the overall good experience. Everyone's food was cooked perfectly. One of the reasons we picked this restaurant was that it had a children's menu. We had two children with us and were put at ease with the friendly staff.
We would definitely go back next time we're in the area.
The night we dined there the heat was not working. My 85 year old mother could not enjoy her meal she was so cold. I understand these things happen but we should have at least been offered a huge discount on the meal and/or free dessert and coffee because of this but we were not. Even our request to move to the back away from the door was refused and there were plenty of free table back there.
we love this restaurant. however the food was not that great on this visit . the lobster bisque was wonderful as always. how ever the meals felt rushed and were pretty bland. we brought our friends who live in Charlotte. my wife and i live in Greenville SC. and we make the drive to your wonderful restaurant. please be more careful when it gets later in the evening . it still was a $ 400.00 meal.. thank you. Really, overall mediocre in all ways. Service was extremely slow but nice. It just took 10 minutes for anything...refill, condiments, check. No real explanation of menu or food.
We order steaks and stuffed shrimp. Mediocre and dry steak. Shrimp cocktail was small and not flavorful.
I really just don't understand why anyone would go here unless for a corporate function. There are so many better places to spend $150 in the city on great service and great food.
We went on Christmas Day with Husband, 2 girls and my father in law. Our waitress did not bring our bread to the table until right before our food came out. She also just brought us 4 pieces when she knew we were a party of 5. So we had to send her back immediately for more. My husband ordered a medium rare filet and when the waitress brought it out, she asked him to cut it open and check the cook level. Nontheless, it was as rare as rare can get. So he sat a whole 10-15 min longer than us without his food to enjoy with us on Christmas Day! Rather than giving him a whole new piece, it was the exact same Steak just thrown back on the grill. (Had same cut marks) the mashed potatoes came out with shard outter shell and were cold. I had the mahi, which was very boring. Not really what I expected of this place. 1st experience here and I don’t think I’ll go back. Not for the money we spent!
My reservation was at @ 2:30 pm and was seated immediately. My SEVER was the best ever and very on point her name was Alyssa and she was great. Coming from the Service world I will ask for her every time and hope that she was treated like she served all day. Thank You all for a wonderful Christmas dinner.
We arrived on time and were seated at a table instead of a booth as requested. The server placed empty water glasses loudly on the table reaching across the front of each of us instead of politely front each person’s right side. We were left with empty glasses through your visit. After about 5 minutes we were given menus, which the greeter actually had carried with her when we were seated. Another person came by after 10 minutes and said he would be right back to take our order. During the same time the table next to us was seated (Actually after we were seated for about 4 minutes) and they were given menus and water glasses filled with water... we waited for another few minutes watching the second waiter take orders from that table next to us, but without providing water or taking our orders. We waited for another 2 minutes, then left due to the extremely poor service. I should add that two of the people at the table are professional chef and neither could believe the extent of poor service. We will never go back
Was visiting Charlotte for Christmas and the family and I had Christmas Eve dinner there. Everything was excellent. Our server missed a few requests, however, they were minor and it was Christmas Eve and busy, so we didn't sweat it. Overall, wonderful time.
There Christmas Eve so the noise level to be exected higher than usual. This goes for slow service as well. It got better as the place cleared out. I wasn't sitting there with a stopwatch! Food choices were well prepared: I had the seseme tuna (rare) and it was just what I hoped for.
My spouse opted for the seafood trio and it was another winnerl Save room for dessert: we chose the chocolate box - to die for. We dine often at this location and have never been disappointed.
We came here for a nice family holiday dinner. Our daughter had been before and recommended we go again. The service was not what you would expect from this level of restaurant. Server could not tell us what liquor was used for the house, really did not have any food recommendations and barely checked on us. My daughters medium filet came out medium well the first time and basically rare the second. Server didn’t come back to ask about our food so we had to flag down a manager to send it back. He was very nice and noticed it was well done before we said anything, but that didn’t make up for the food quality. My scallops were so so and same was true of the flounder. Not a lot of flavor. My son’s Mac and cheese was good. Overall, not the experience or food we expected for a $200+ meal for four. Atmosphere is nice but not enough to warrant a visit. We tried but will not be returning. Maybe if they get a new chef we will try again.
Excellent, as always. The Chocolate Box dessert is to die for, and you might if you try to eat the whole thing. This dessert is best shared, maybe even among four people, though the two of us finished it. Free valet parking is a bonus, and with a nice tip it is still a bargain.
