Good food. We ended up arriving early and were easily accommodated.
Some things weren’t available at 5, like bread.
Our assistant server was attentive and our server made up for a miss by the kitchen with a complimentary dessert that my husband and nephew enjoyed.
We love this restaurant but may not show up quite as early again.
We eat here fairly regularly, say once a month or so, when we have theater or symphony tickets. This meal was probably the best we've had there. Imported Nova Scotia salmon, grilled to perfection, beets, root vegs & asparagus. Really great food. The wine pick, a Pinot Noir, was also great. Thank you Mc-S.
Terrible place! Took forever to serve and bring food! Food was mediocre and service terrible!
I had the saffron salmon. It was excellent. I'm very picky about Seafood. The Truffle and chive mashed potatoes were awesome. Fantastic dinner
Super slow service. Had to wait forever to get served/refill order on drinks/etc. We asked for dessert menu and it took 20min to come to us....at that point we just said we want to the check so we could leave. The place was empty as well....maybe that's the reason.
Had a good experience, we had a good waitress, she wanted to make sure we were pleased with everything! Food was good. I would come back soon!
Food and wine were very good! I recommend! highly. Price was reasonable!
Overall McCormick’s was a great dinning experience for my wife and I. The fish and Chips was cooked perfectly.
It was a pleasure to dine and be able to hear everyone at the table! Great food and great service
I love the atmosphere! Many choices on the menu for both meat and fish, and everything very nicely prepared. Good choice of wines. Surprisingly fast service, so it's easy to go 90 minutes ahead of your show time and still have a leisurely dinner.
Grilled, broiled, and pan seared are the option for the snapper; however, I wanted blackened snapper, and the chef honored my request. The snapper was turned out lovely. My date enjoyed the beef medallions, and expressed her satisfaction, too.
I ordered their Scottish salmon, very disappointed. No flavor or spices.
Was really surprised by the good food and service found in this chain restaurant. We had an earlier dinner reservation. Not sure if we would have received the same service for a later reservation. The food was prepared as ordered. Definitely would visit again.
Food was very good, but we had poor service from an admittedly new waiter.
Found this place online looking for an upscale seafood restaurant for birthday celebration. I did reservation online via open Table for 6:30 pm the next day and received a confirmation email. The next day at 5pm i get an email saying I was a no show for the reservation. I immediately called restaurant and somehow the system had a 4pm reservation even though my confirmation email showed 6:30pm. This was quickly resolved. And I reminded them that this was a birthday celebration.
Got there seated and everything gradually went down hill. The restaurant is not kid friendly - just 1-2 items for kids on the menu, no kid size silverware. The service was so slow and it took forever for anything to come out despite the fact that the restaurant was 40-50% capacity. Drinks were not good, food came out cold. Food taste was mediocre. Waiter was not friendly nor apologetic about anything and only showed up every so often to check on the table.
My guest was not wished a happy birthday at anytime during the dinner nor anything else to feel a bit special. And I did tell the waiter it was a birthday celebration when we sat down.
For an upscale restaurant it was a very disappointing experience. I doubt I will be returning to this business.
Overall experience was Great from entering to leaving. The food was Awesome and the drips “done right”! We will definitely return again with friends.
Our server Simi was fantastic... attentive and made suggestions and was overall pleasant and seemed very glad we were there. We went for a small dinner pre-Blumenthal and it's an easy 5 minute walk, if that, from there. The food was tasty. We'll be back.
Vacation dinner with family
Great time here!
The manager and the hostess knew that we had time constraints due to a concert. When seated they said, we will make sure your server knows. There were 7 tables and about that many servers and we sat for 20 minutes before I had to find the manager to take our order. We never even had a server come by until after we received the food and she still didn't inquire as to how it was.
The salmon was overcooked and dry and the mashed potatoes were inedible.
Good food and waitress. Would have preferred quieter music . We were there for an early dinner on a Sunday. Music was loud - maybe jazz or just turn it down. Nice touch that our anniversary was mentioned on the menu but no offer of anything else.
The service was terrible from the moment I walked through the door to the moment I walked out. Everything about this restaurant screams we are trying to keep our cost down.
The food was decent, but not worth the money spent. If it was $50 or so cheaper, I would give it 5 stars
great Food, Great service. I really had no complaints about any thing . Complimentary Valet just tops off a great(but expensive ) night.
I had a great experience. The waiting staff was superb in every way from confirming my reservation to the pleasantries following our dining experience.
Very disappointed to see a health rating of 87
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The seafood is always fresh and well prepared.
Great food, great wine, great service.
I have no problem with the price of our meal - there was great value in the experience. However, for me, this will be listed as a choice for special occasions, celebrations or rewards.
They did not have my reservations but I had to show my reservation number to get seated
Staff was amazing. Food was good the crab dip was hands down the best part of the dinner. It was Valentines, so we feel like the lights could have been dimmer. The restaurant had a B health rating which made us raise our eyebrows a little.
Food wasn't seasoned at all very bland mediocre chef or cook needs to learn hiw to cook salmon better.
I've been to McCormick & Schmick in several locations but this was a new beast. Several coworkers decided to get together for happy hour since it was Valentine's Day and we were all away from home. To our surprise they cancelled happy hour understandably for the holiday but we had called ahead to ask specifically about happy hour when making reservations. There were 7 of us originally but we added one additional person at the door. We saw the situation like this, three tables for 6 people or one big table or both. Anything outside of the 6 requires some finagling. But a 20 min wait in a restaurant that was yet to be crowded for a reservation that only added one person seemed to be an egregious sin to the host. The restaurant manager was called and the waiting ensued. When we made it to our table the drinks were slow most of the experience but again it was a holiday so no huge biggie. Just sucks to have a happy hour on Valentine with no drinks and a group of disgruntled employees. The waiter was attentive and the interaction was cordial so no complains to the rest of the staff or chain just an interesting experience to share.
I tend to seek out upscale steak or chop houses in my search of the quintessential great steak. McCormick & Schmick’s was a recommendation of a friend and the didn’t fail to met my ever evolving standards. The service staff did a great job with their effort to insure you have a pleasant experience. However, the ambient noise was a bit more than other restaurants of this type. Overall a pleasant establishment for fine dining.
Sloooooow service. Warm lettuce wedge. Sanitation rating 87. Not recommended.
The food and the service were great. The seafood and steak were delicious.
Awesome place! Went there to ask my girlfriend to marry me. The staff was amazing in helping me out.
Service was poor....seated 15-20 mins b4 waiter made 1st appearance. This made us late for concert (Andrea Bocelli) Recent sanitation rating only 87. I will not go back unless I have 2 hours plus to get dinner.
Had a 6:30 Reservation for Andrea Bocelli concert.
Place was packed and we waited until 6:45 to get seated. Hostess stand personnel were as accommodating as they could be, given the crowd! But, our server knew we were pressed and Alyssa did all she could to speed things up without us feeling like we were wolfing down the meal! Except for a few loud guests who thought they were important than everyone else, the ambience was good!
Shrimp kisses app was nice way to start the dinner and you can see why they won best appetizer in Taste of Charlotte for past few years!
Valet parking kept our car until after the show which was a nice way to stay out of the fray of parking decks near Spectrum Center.
We arrived for our reservation a few minutes ahead of our 6:30 time. We had to wait 10 minutes for an open table. Our server didn't arrive for another 5 and I had to wait 30 minutes for a glass of wine. The appetizer arrived and was good, but our dinner still hadn't arrived by 7:40. We gave up.
Was a play in Charlotte night. Very crowded with very slow service. Food was very good with seared tuna and stuffed salmon. Hot and tasty. Energetic bar scene. Sanitation rating was 87. If we saw earlier would not have eaten here. Don't do anything less then 95.
