Over all very great food and service. Waiters were polite and friendly.
Food was delicious. Server, Nikki, was less than stellar.
Excellent as always
Good food and atmosphere. Steaks were cooked to temps requested. Better than average experience.
THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME THERE. FIRST IMPRESSION WAS NOT GOOD. DECIDED TO TRY IT BECAUSE IT WAS ON YOUR WEBSITE FOR RESTAURANT WEEK IN CHARLOTTE. THE HOSTESS WAS RUDE WHEN SAID DIDNT PARTISIPATE IN THIS YEAR. ASKED TO SPEAK TO MANAGER WHO REQUESTED ME TO SHOW HIM WHERE I GOT THE INFORMATION FROM WHICH WAS OPEN TABLE. HE SAID HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT YET MY BILL WAS 126.00 , WHICH MEANS HE DID NOT HONOR MY INFO . THE WAITER WAS EXCELLENT AND THE FOOD WAS OK JUST SHOULD HAVE BEEN WARMER. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO OUT OF TOWN GUEST WANTING A GREAT DINING EXPERIENCE.
My sister and I came for dinner! We enjoyed the calamari which was nice and crispy. The filet mignon was cooked well and asparagus was great. Both my sister and I got some extra sides too. I got the Mac and cheese and she got the lobster mashed potatoes. This is where we were not impressed, the Mac and cheese unfortunately tasted like buttered noodles with bread crumbs and the very small side of lobster mash potatoes was overpriced and underwhelming. So, just know that, if you go to visit. Apple pie with cinnamon ice cream was good if you get dessert.
Very nice atmosphere. Food was amazing. Highly recommend.
First off the food was excellent, one of the best salmon dishes ever with bourbon sauce. The steak was great, properly seasoned and cooked well. Sides were good but nothing stood out, service was ok, but as anyone who is going out right now it is very hard for restaurants to staff with experienced people right now so i gave them a break and tipped accordingly.
Here is why i didn't rate 5 stars across the board, because of what happened when leaving. The saying goes your meal is only as good as the last thing that you experienced and this isn't about desert.
Tryon Street is a mess. It is over-run, under policed and didn't afford a safe exit out of the restaurant on a Saturday night. As soon as we left the restaurant we were accosted (means approached) multiple times. Nothing bad happened, but it sure made me feel uncomfortable when people come up to you and ask for money or comment on how you are dressed or whatever.
Having no parking within a block or so is a problem, we had navigate the street back to the parking lot and having to watch over our shoulders is not the way to end an excellent evening and dinner.
I am a NYer, i don't usually feel uncomfortable ever walking around the city, but on this evening I did. I think this is one of the most important reviews I have ever written and people who are going to dinner at this location and read this and should be aware.
Great food! Great service! Great experience!!!
A friend took me out for my 59th birthday
Food was okay at best. Portions were a little small for the price did not seem like I got my moneys worth. Restaurant was generally empty when we arrived and we were squeezed into a tight booth when tables were plentiful. Waitress had to come back a few times to confirm our orders
Server was perfect, attentive, knew when to come back and check frequently and the food was served amazingly quick! Which the things we ordered were great! Nice meal for the price.
While on vacation in Charlotte I noticed your restaurant. I don’t eat steak often but when I do I prefer a good steakhouse.I had never heard of your brand so decided to try. I ordered the 3 ounce center cut filet mignon.
I was not disappointed. It was delicious. I ordered the Romain Caesar salad. Just enough before my entree. Mashed potatoes and asparagus were the perfect side dishes. 2 glasses of Pinot Girgio. It was worth the price for the experience. Highly recommend your restaurants.
Hostess and server were terrific and gave great effort.
“Chef’s selection meal” swordfish dish was tough to chew, poor flavor and lukewarm.
We were a party of 6. We each ordered a different entree and each one loved their food. Every thing was delicious! The upside down apple walnut dessert was amazing !!! Our server was very pleasant. Overall we very much enjoyed the entire experience.
The food was quite good, although the menu contains fewer items than on previous visits, with less fresh fish choices.
Servers should be taught how to open wine bottle and pour wine.
Servers should be taught not to deliver appetizers and salads to the same person at the same time. These courses should be spaced. If some diners are only ordering just an appetizer or a salad and others are ordering both, the diners with just a single order before the entrée should be asked when they would like it served.
Servers should automatically offer bread to diners.
We really loved everything about this place. The drinks, the apps, the food (although my steak was a little over done it was still tasty, the ambience and the service. Nikki, our server, was amazing!! We will definitely look for more McCormick and Schmick's when we travel.
The food and service was great I will say go if you want great food and service
Food came out quick and was perfect. Oysters were amazing
Excellent atmosphere with great service in a pleasant setting
for such a nice looking restaurant, and having the ambience of an upscale restaurant, I was very disappointed with this restaurant. We came around 5pm during the week, and the place was nearly empty, however was looking to get in for some 'happy hour specials'. Was told that the happy hour specials are only for a designated area, but since we were already seated, we wouldn't be able to partake in those specials.
We ordered 2 of each type of oyster (initially), where the waitress didn't remember which was which when they were ordered. We liked one, so ordered a dozen, however they brought out the wrong ones (brought out blue point, rather than the BEAU SOLEIL oysters, which were the ones we preferred.
They were good in terms of my dietary restrictions (dairy), but the waitress came back 4 or 5 times to re-run my order by me, asking each time the same exact thing that was told to her a few minutes prior.
The sea bass was a solid piece of meat, however it was so tiny, that it was barely a meal. for the price of $40, it was definitely not worth it. The salmon that we ordered was cooked too well (when asked for rare), and when asked about it, the waitress stated that is how they have to cook it.
The slowness of the staff was brutal, especially when we were one of 6 tables in the main dining area, and the rest was empty. There were a lot of wait staff standing around chatting, and some were playing on their phones.
Very disappointed with this place
Food was great, waiter was missing a lot. He would be gone for long periods of time when the restaurant was not busy.
Great as usual. Meal with new friends who had never eaten at a M&S
The food was exquisite, and the servers very attentive. The place was clean and elegantly decorated. The location is OK. but there is no private parking nor validation. Parking next door is at least $9 (weekends). The clientele was very casually dressed. The ladies room wasn't very clean. Prices are on the high side and the menu does not have too many options.
Service was great! Food was excellent. Sea bass was delicious. Calamari for appetizer was very good.
Booth was a little tight. I recommend table not booth .
Have had better food and drinks for half the price. Steak was mediocre sides were non existent and drinks were bland
We have eaten here several times with good experiences. This visit was not satisfactory, Our service was great but not the food. Our party of 4 was certain the mashed potatoes were instant potatoes with little flavor. The two flounder dinners were not good at all. The stuffed flounder with shrimp and lobster was served cold. My filet was really good but the mashed potatoes were embarrassing. The $15 appetizer had 4 shrimps which was way over priced. A $50 meal should be excellent. We were disappointed.
Our waitress was very pleasant to say the least however, there were big long gaps in between drinks and food. I had to flag her down to get her attention and ask for water.
The first drink we got, we had to return b/c it tasted so bitter, usually Sangria is on the sweeter side but definitely not the ones we had. I opted for a Margarita which was ok. I’ve had bigger and better Margaritas, especially for $13.
The food was questionable and had us confused b/c the quality is not as what we remembered it as. I once loved the calamari here but now it’s salty calamari mixed w/ some other things like jalapeños and veggies, the menu does not say that. My entree was ok, nothing special abt it and I honestly don’t feel like it was worth $27. My date’s fish and chips were ok as whomever prepared the fish went a bit to hard with the salt as well. The fish portions were decent but what good is it if we can’t enjoy it due to it being over salted.
Very unfortunate that this experience was not the greatest or close to previous experiences we’ve had at this restaurant.
I was out with my daughters and we had a fabulous time. The food was great and the service was exceptional. The drinks and desert were the highlights to go along with great conversations!!
The food was not up to par like other times
Great food and service! I would highly recommend them.
Side dishes were poorly prepared. Waitress was pleasant but her knowledge of the menus was below expectation. They ask on the reservation website if this was for an event. Yes it was an anniversary. Absolutely no mention of the special day.
Everything was great. The waiter was nice and the food was delicious!
I have to McCormick several times and this was by far the most disappointing. The food was Waterdown and for the price, I was very disappointed. I am not sure if this is the effect of Covid, but I paid over $150 for two people and the food wasn't that great.
First time customer to the restaurant and we came for Father’s Day. Mussels weren’t good at all. Not much flavor … the steak was phenomenal - small side portions for the price they charge … but my fiancé’s Father’s Day meal could’ve been better-green beans/veggies weren’t cooked thoroughly either. For the price i paid - food could’ve been better
I was very disappointed with the waitress. She wasn’t very knowledgeable about the Father’s Day special. I ordered our oysters steamed as always. They were raw. She wasn’t very knowledgeable about the oysters. We were a party of 6 and she 3 out of the orders wrong. My salmon was burned and dried out. It was not a pleasant experience. The waitress was never rude and willing to correct her mistakes but, overall the experience was not what I expected. Oh yea I asked for a high chair for my daughter and was given a broken one which she almost fell out of. So yea it was not good!
30th birthday celebration. Good menu and good service
Definitely thought this was going to be a high end dining experience, but it not worth the money in my opinion. Had higher hopes for the place.
First time at McCormicks & we weren’t disappointed…. Matt was a great server & very helpful with any questions we had. Definitely coming back!!
Food and atmosphere was great!! Waitress was very nice
