McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Charlotte (Tryon Street)
Book your next event with us
Although the staff was friendly, attentive and the wine suggestion was good, the noise level was way too high (overhead music) to "chat" or relax.
The Oysters Rockefeller were absolutely wonderful but "oysters on the half shell" were VERY small and disgraceful! The ahi tuna was over "crusted" and the swordfish was very dry.
There are too many wonderful restaurants to eat at Uptown. We will not be back.
Perfect date night before the theater. Service was excellent and food delicious. I recommend the lobster bisque.
My wife is going to have a bone marrow biopsy this Thursday. Today was a day to relax and breathe before having the test.
Colton, our server made My wife and I feel special. My wife was able to relax and take her mind off the test.
We are so appreciative of the memorable experience provided be the staff and host!
Our experience was quite average. We had a nice waiter, the wine was reasonably priced. The food was adequate. I had sea bass pan seared and found it a bit on the over-seasoned side. The roasted root vegetables consisted of three tiny carrots, a half of a fingerling potato and a half of a turnip (sad and overcooked at that). The jumbo shrimp cocktail was a nice portion but the shrimp were rather bland and tough. LOVED the ahi tuna appetizer - that was excellent. Partner had that blackened wahoo and also really enjoyed it. Ultimately, we probably won't be back as the $150 we spent on the meal didn't really feel like a good purchase.
Always good and convenient to most of downtown Charlotte
We had an enjoyable time for dinner.
Soup and steak was so nice, moreover a selected red wine was perfect.
Service was well-organized and the atomsphere of the restaurant was cozy and cool.
Food was excellent and service was excellent as well. Our server, Tara, knew we were going to s play and expedited our experience perfectly. Jenna, the manager, was personable and friendly, and even helped me navigate as a member of the Landry Club. Wonderful experience.
My husband & I had a lovely early dinner here on a Monday evening before an event uptown. We have not been to McCormick and Schmick’s in years and were pleasantly surprised on how wonderful it was. From the time we walked in the door, Eddie the host was friendly and welcoming. Levi, our server was outstanding. He explained everything to our satisfaction and gave us the perfect balance of attention and privacy. Our meal was delicious. We will be back!
Crab legs were small and overly salty
DJ and Eddie made our experience wonderful. Will definitely return again.
Great food and exceptional service!
Terrible service and too expensive for this type of chain restaurant
My fiancé and I have been here several times, this by far was our best experience! The food was EXCEPTIONAL!!! From the presentation to the taste and temperature...it was ALL superb! My salmon was moist and flavorful and asparagus cooked to just the desired crispness that I love! From the hostess to our server Nick the hospitality was impeccable! Whatever you’re doing at McCormick and Schmick’s continue doing it! We will be returning very soon. You are now my favorite seafood restaurant. WELL DONE!!!
Queens Feast limited menu but everything cooked & presented beautifully. Appys could have been larger
We sat at our table for 15 minutes and no one ever came to greet us or get or drink order. Needless to say we decided to leave and go to Ruth Chris
Food not worth the money but I didn’t try steak and I was offered limited menu because of restaurant week
I enjoyed my experience at this location! It was a first My server Lauren was pleasant and very knowledgeable about the menu and wine choices having the manager check on the table was awesome!!! The food was a little bland and a bit cooler than I'd like my food to be served.
We really enjoyed the stuffed salmon and apple pie!
Waited nearly 30 minutes even though we had a reservation. Seated at the very back of the restaurant. Neighboring table had a very loud party. Quality / flavor of the food (ribeye steak) was disappointing. Valet parked my car and had to go get my own vehicle from the garage at the end of the evening.
I was really looking forward to dinner during Charlotte's Queen Feast Restaurant week, but was disappointed. There was no special menu or pricing provided to us, which was the point of going during that time. Paid full price off of standard menu. Host/Hostess reception appeared hectic and unorganized - not professional for an upscale establishment. Also, steak was served super rare, and asked for medium rare, had to send back and was then over - cooked to medium-well when they brought it back. Room we were in way super loud - felt like I was screaming to my dinner date, they were out of ice on a 96° day, and service on the slower side. Side dishes were nothing special either. For the dollar, I would not recommend and given more consistent experience at Ruths' Chris, right next door, I would go there, where I have always had great quality and service.
Our table was in a very busy area. Two drinks came late. Meal was great!
So noisy you can't talk to the person you are dining with. The ambiance doesn't match the price level .
I visited for the first time during Queens Feast week. I enjoyed this place far better than the BLT Steak I went to next night . Deviled eggs were fantastic....how do you make deviled eggs tasted that freaking good?
Came for restaurant week and ordered the beef medallions, there were four, very small medallions that were only average at best. Very disappointed with the amount of food for the price.
I have dined here many times, but this time the experience was awful. My salad tasted like they had collected grass and weeds from the lawn, the mashed potatoes were bland, the spinach had no taste. The wahoo was tough. The moscato was good, the bourbon salmon was good, the bread pudding awas tasty. For 130 dollars, I expect more! Server (Samantha) was not well versed on food selections. She described Wahoo as a white flaky fish, which I found not the case. My sister asked for a white wine spritzer and she said they did not have them.
We will think twice before returning.
Excellent food and service! Would definitely recommend this place!
Service was impeccable! Food was average
Experience was good but our food was cold
We were seated immediately; wait time for food was minimal.
The service and the food were excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience.
Food was amazing. Service was incredible from our server to the manager. Couldn’t do enough for us.
Best steak I've had. Great service. Very nice place
Best steak I've ever had. Great service
Our server was spot on with recommendations. The service was attentive without being smothering. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere did not feel like that of a chain restaurant.
I have eaten the sea bass at other restaurants and it was excellent. But it was not so good here.
We sat in a special booth in the corner. It was a great ambiance and food was awesome!!
Our entrees were bad and terrible. Steak medallions were dry and over cooked. Halibut was tasteless, stringy and overcooled. Orzo dish had no seasoning and processed vegetables that came straight from a bag of frozen vegetables. We kept saying the chef must have quit. At least they comped the meal.
We had a great time. I'll be back the next time I'm in town.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the food was amazing! We would definitely go back!
The food was awesome! I would definitely recommend and visit again when in the Charlotte area.
