Service was really slow. Took a long time for someone to wait on us after promptly being seated. Timing was off on everything. As an example, our wine came out as we were finishing our entrees. The server realized this and comp'd the wine. Still, not a great experience. There was also some kind of large group event going on and there was loud whistling and carrying on - not appropriate noise level for a nice meal out - louder than a pub. Food was ok but the rest of the experience means we won't be back anytime soon.
Table was great (window). Service was professional and very good. Food was just fair. Fish was greasy. Veggies were cold. We won't be back soon.
Not a very good value-service was OK but in no way out of the ordinary. We ate before watching the Snowflake Lane event and did have a window seat that allowed us to watch interactions between participants and the kids attending prior to the event beginning.
Restaurant was not busy at all but it took an inordinate amount of time for the food to come out. It was a business lunch and guests ended up having to eat quickly and leave.
Service was a bit slow at the time of our visit
15 min before we even received water
Great seafood. We had the wedge salad, stuffed salmon, Idaho trout and chocolate pie for desert. Each item was very good. Our table by the window let us people watch as they were getting ready for the Bellevue Christmas parade. We timed our dinner to end at 7:00 so we could also take it in. We got the reservation on Satuerday evening for a Sunday dinner. Great service.
For the last 3 years we have been going to McCormick for my daughter’s birthday followed by Snowflake Lane. This year it was quite disappointing. The first big disappointment was that they completely missed out on the standard custom printed birthday menus which when you make the reservation weeks in advance and know their standard, you learn to expect it. Had we not known they do that, it wouldn’t have been a disappointment, but we did. The food was extremely average and for the price we’re disappointed. There were some beautifully presented but extremely bland entrees (namely the scallops and butternut squash risotto). Given we were there for a 5pm reservation and the restaurant was not busy, the service was simply ok and there was definite room for improvement. I think my main issue is that when I stated my mutual disappointment on their failure to aknowledge the birthday celebration there was no action. The hostess simply said “oh there must have been a mixup” and she did not follow through with alerting our server and I had to again let them know we were celebrating. Next year we will definitely go to one of the other restaurants in the area as there is so much to choose from for subpar food and service.
We decided on this restaurant based on its location and that it had gluten free options. There were 8 of us including 2 kids under 10 , celebrating my Father in Laws birthday dinner and then going to watch Snowflake Lane. They put us in a corner where they had a large group function where drunk older people kept walking back and forth from the bar to the room with drinks. They bumped our kids are few times and wouldn't move so we could take them to bathroom. Our server was very short in manner, no patience and when we asked for a new drink he walked away in mid sentence. Needless to say while the food was great the experience was not.
Will not go back. We were seated at 8:30 pm for an 8:00 pm reservation. It was a busy weekend, so that was understandable. It went downhill from there. It took 25 minutes to get water, and 40 for bread. My husband's dinner order was wrong, but he decided to accept it rather than wait another eternity for it to be replaced. We asked that the bill be corrected, but it wasn't. The server was unprofessional, making it clear he was tired and overwhelmed. Near the end, another server took over, and he was awesome! My beef medallions were too rare, but I was not asked how I wanted them prepared. The dessert was excellent, the highlight of the meal. McCormick's used to be a good place; not sure what happened. Also, the server told us all their salmon is farm raised. What is that, a seafood place in NW WA that doesn't serve wild salmon??
The restaurant was understaffed. They ran out of clean glasses and utensils. Service was unbelievably slow. Food arrived hot, but was cold by the time we could eat it due to lack utensils. Vegetables in the entrees were not fully cooked. Probably because the kitchen was rushing to try and keep up. This was a management fail. The staff was working hard.
Food was surprisingly wonderful but out service was not great. We were seated about 35 min. past our reservation time which we were okay with, I was a busy night. We were very hungry and they were running a bit slower than normal. We werethe only table without bread and when we asked we were told they were out and she would grab us some as soon as it was ready. We saw more tables getting bread around us (we never got the bread) Once our meal came we were very happy. Great meal and the bread pudding was delicious, large enough for two.
Understaffed, poor cleanliness and service staff not very attentive nor professional.
My steak was small and over cooked, I was served a Manahattan "up" in a rocks glass because they were apparently out of glasses. Then they brought me a $15 glass of wine in a rocks glass because they were out of wine glasses!
It was a Saturday night, so not sure what was going on, but very poor experience.
Most everything was good. The only negative is that for some reason, the server thought we wanted our appetizer and entree' to come out at the same time. We didn't really have a chance to say anything because the server moved away from the table a bit too quickly for us to react, and didn't come back soon enough for us to bother. Tasty food, nice place - but service (or at least our server) has room for improvement.
Wait staff very good but extremely understaffed. Excellent food, slow service.
We have eaten at this McCormick and Schmick's several times before and enjoyed it. This time not so much. The waitress was very nice, but not very efficient. Seemed rather rushed and probably had too many tables to serve. This time we found this restaurant to be very expensive. I think that they have raised their prices a lot. The food was okay, but I have had better at this restaurant and McCormick and Schmick's in general.
So we probably will not be going back.
Service was very slow and poor. One meal was forgotten and the wine my husband was served was not what he ordered. It took a Very long time to even pay our bill.
My wife and I had a early dinner on a Friday evening prior to theatre.
Reservations made through Open Table.
The service and ambiance was excellent. I was slightly disappointed the Chef's Choice of Bouillabaisse was not available but my second choice of Scallops and Pork Belly was prepared very well, scallops were tender and flavorful and the overall dish tasted fantastic! Our Server did a great job with wine and cocktail suggestions. Thank you!
Meal was great ambience was very nice service was slow and erratic.
New server and inattentive trainer.
Prior visits have been much better
The radio was way too loud couldn’t talk to each other. Otherwise everything was fabulous.
It just wasn’t worth it for me. First of all, our server gave us sparkling water which we didn’t ask for and still had to pay for it. We ordered the steak and lobster and both came out dried and tough. The whole experience was very disappointing and we won’t be coming back!
Loved the 2 course lunch special! I had clam chowder and fish & chips. Was surprised how generous the portion was! Will definitely go back!!
Our family booked a reservation for dinner prior to going to snowflake lane. The server was good but the food was absolutely terrible. The 4 adults each had a different entree and we all thought the food was terrible. My Parmesan crusted sole required a knife and fork because the fish had been left on the pan so long the entire bottom had caramelized. It had no flavor, no sauce and didn't even taste like fish. Honestly Bellevue deserves a better quality restaurant in this prime location. The other entrees were pesto salmon rigatoni, steak and lobster and Parmesan chicken. I can't recommend this restaurant.
Food seemed to take quite a long time for how few patrons there seemed to be.
For this being my first time coming to Washington, this restaurant has made the trip worthwhile. Though the service was a bit questionable and at times, waited longer than expected for certain things, everything else was great! The food exceeded my expectations of reviews and was incredible! The atmosphere in and around the restaurant (Christmas parade!!!) was lively and was worth every single penny! I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone that comes to the Bellevue area!
We go to this restaurant every year for my birthday, this year was one of the best meals yet and our server (I forget her name) was outstanding. I would've preferred a different location within the restaurant but other than that it was perfect
Great experience. Ultimate mixed seafood grill was great; same with the seared ahi, and the Truffle fries are a must try when you're there
We had an excellent meal at McCormick and Schmick's on a busy Saturday night. I love their lobster bisque. I also had the shrimp and crab cakes. The corn salsa they serve with it is a fresh balance. My daughter had the ahi tuna-she ate every bit. Will definitely come back.
We went ther for Thanksgiving Dinner and it was a disappointment. Two people had seafood and it was good and two had the Thanksgiving special turkey dinner which was very disappointing. The turkey was dry, almost no gravy and very little cranberry sauce.
made a reservation for 7pm got there a little earlier and was immediately seated in a cozy spot to myself.
Great Thanksgiving Meal, I think we'll be coming back here if they can offer a gluten-free option for my wife!!!
Going to McCormick & Schmick has been a holiday tradition for us for many years. However, now the Harborside location on Lake Union is closed so we ventured over to M&S Bellevue Square. They are upholding a fine M&S tradition in our area of great menu and excellent service. As a party of retirees, we appreciated being seated in an "adult parties" room, so not having to endure fussy children, for which we were grateful. People with children often don't appreciate how much they impact parties in their vicinity so this is definitely a plus on the part of M&S. Even though it's a drive for us to come from North Seattle, we will do this again. Kudos!
This place was fine on a holiday, however they had no consideration for the elder lady I brought with me and they were advised she is a risk for falls and we were seated way across the room
Thanksgiving dinner was just OK. My wife made a special request for white meat which was met with resistance. We were advised that they had a thousand reservations that evening (a number of times that evening) and they were told by the chef to discourage it due to their thousands of reservations, BUT, they did come through and my wife received all white meat. We did have to ask for bread, and the food was only warm, and the wait staff all seemed rushed (although still early and tables were still empty) and the mashed potatoes were firm from sitting for a while, but other than that what do you want for a good price and with everywhere else closed. Happy Thanksgiving!
We were seated by the kitchen, heard dishes being washed the entire time, our server was not attentive, took forever to get our drinks and food, and when the food came out the portions were very small and not cooked properly. This is the first time I've ever left a review, and the only reason why I am is because I was very dissatisfied and will not be a returning customer.
We went for our Thanksgiving dinner @ 1130am. Nice seating in corner so as requested it was somewhat quiet. The $29.99 dinner plate was delicious but the portions were to say the least very small and no extra gravy to put on stuffing or mashed potatoes. The pie was an $4 so we opted out of that. Overall, the food was good but they need to step it up on the portion size. Maggiano's next door has them beat by far!
Unfortunately, they were out of New York steak but didn't tell us until after we ordered. The beef medallions were tough and some were over cooked and others raw (ordered medium rare).
The sauteed spinach was so salty as to be inedible. The food looked great but the taste not so much. The service was okay but not great. The server seemed to be new and spoke very quietly so it was difficult to hear her even though the restaurant noise level was not loud. The desserts were the best thing about the visit.
This restaurant was chosen for several reasons: distance from our conference, menu and easy to walk to from our hotel. The food and service were outstanding but being just simple, rural people it was a bit more spendy than we are used to.
The place was hopping. It appeared to be totally full which may reflect why the service was so poor
Food was good
Overall experience was lacking
Mediocre considering we paid $240 for 2 people
