McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Bellevue Ratings and Reviews
Sadly, McCormick & Schmick’s didn’t have their “Schmick” together to deliver a tasty or special Valentines Day dinner. I had the Parmesan crusted sole—which was 9/10 breading/Parmesan and 1/10 fish. The vegetable risotto was gloopy and cold , and the uninspired green beans and Julien carrots were nearly raw—missed “al dente” by miles—and lacked any seasoning. I also had a Cesar salad that was drowned in dressing. The first waiter (who never introduced himself or presented any specials or asked if we had questions about the food) took our order and we never saw him again. It was a litany of different servers throughout the meal. We didn’t know who to grab to order more drinks and actually asked for the bill from 2 different people, and after paying, were asked if we wanted to order dessert! It was a very disappointing meal and a clusterf%#k of an evening for the floor staff. I’m going to make a point to tell my family NOT to get the McCormick & Schmick’s gift cards from Costco so I won’t feel obligated to use them or have to subject someone to the same experience via regifting the gift card.
Went here for Valentine's Day. Made reservations and was seated at a nice view booth in corner, so started off well. Our server was excellent, Keith or Kevin. Started with a cocktail and oysters, both very good. I ordered the scallops with pork belly, (killer), and my wife had filet mignonette with prawns, (xlnt). Finished with the bread pudding, another good choice. The only disconnect is that I was quoted a $15 charge for corkage and we were billed $20, but no biggie. The tablet bill process was interesting as it did not let you go back and review once you got to the tip, so I think we took care of the server correctly. Overall another xlnt experience at McC & Sch.
We were very excited to have Valentines dinner there. We were quite disappointed! We were seated a a tiny table next to a ransom wall - tbey really crammed us in. The service was so slow, and the food came out cold! We ordered crab cakes as an appetizer - but were SHOCKED when it was brought out- it was ONE small crabcake! For $16! My steak was cold, as were the potatoes. The potatoes had sort of a crust formed from sitting out waiting to be brought to our table. We were very disappointed
We were a party of 6 and were seated minutes from our arrival. Our waitress was superior, however we noticed that the food seemed to be taking a while. Then Poof! The chef came to our table to personally apologize regarding the delay of our meals. They did arrive shortly after that. Then the chef came back to our table to make sure our meals were cooked perfectly. What Service!!!!!!!!!!!! Did I mention that our Waitress was superior as well?
We came here as we had a $25 voucher to use, but that didn’t contribute a lot to the overpriced dishes on the menu. One of our meals was fish & chips, which consisted of 4 decent sized pieces of fish, which were nice and crispy, but the chips were way too salty. Another of our meals was shrimp pasta which was a decent bowlful and was the best meal. The last meal was Parmesan crusted chicken which consisted of two small pieces of chicken with a side of linguine Alfredo, which was more of an entrée sized meal. Luckily, there was enough of the other 2 meals to share.
The desserts were very tasty and plentiful.
The food was good and the best compliment to the food in overall experience was the service. The server was helpful, cordial and attentive. Also, the staff member filling water, clearing tables, etc. was very attentive. He obviously had been watching his tables and appeared just in time whenever something was needed such as a water refill, etc. When I asked about some items on the menu, the server was very helpful with possible options --this to me makes a statement of caring about the customer!
Went there a few months ago and it was great. Sat night was busy. Reasonable wait for table with a reservation. Ordered cup of chowder and Ribeye. Chowder never arrived. Ribeye was 1/3 fat/grizzled. Most Ribeye has fat and grizzled, but this was excessive. Server was OK. Not great. Wife's meal was good (stuffed salmon). We'll go back but it wasn't the restaurant's best showing.
My wife and I took in an early dinner prior to a show in Seattle. The service by CJ and staff was impeccable. We were treated so special. He explained every dish we were thinking about trying in great detail. We let CJ choose our wine option, perfect! The food specials we had, I the Rock Cod, my wife the Ahi, was so amazing! Wasabi mashed potatoes! We had a great evening of great food, service, and relaxation! Thanks CJ and staff for a fun evening and we look forward to the next time!
We had a reservation on Saturday at 6:30 but didn't get seated until 6:50. At 7:10 a waitress showed up and asked if we'd been helped since they were not sure who was serving our table. We said we had not and were ready to order. She said things were so busy she was sweating like crazy and she'd be our waitress. We acknowledged her sweat and ordered an inexpensive bottle of wine and two entrees. The wine came quickly, but by 8pm (90 minutes after our reservation) there was no still no food and we were very hungry. I flagged down the waitress and asked if the food might be coming soon. She said it would probably be awhile but she couldn't guess how long because the kitchen was so backed up that things were in chaos. She explained to us that was the reason so many people were leaving. She then hurried off. So we got up and left too.
The good news is that we went over to Purple, got a seat at the bar right away and had a fantastic meal.
WAS SO EXCITED TO TAKE MY HUSBAND OUT FOR HIS BIRTHDAY! WRONG PLACE TO GO. IT SEEMS THE RESTARANT WAS NOT EQUIPED FOR THE CROWD. WE WAITED OVER A HALF HOUR FOR OUR TABLE... OK COULDN'T WAIT TO TASTE THE FOOD.. THE WATER WAS BROUGHT IMMEDIALTELY... WAITED FOR WAIT STAFF 20 MINUTES (THANK GOODNESS WE HAD DRINKS FROM THE BAR). WHEN SHE DID COME OVER SHE TOOK OUR ORDER WAITED ASKED FOR SOME BREAD.... APPS CAME I HAD THE SHRIMP WRAPED BACON SOUNDS GREAT NO THE SHRIMP OVERCOOKED BACON NOT COOKED. HUSBAND HAD OYSTERS ROCKERFELLER WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT EXPECT FOR THE SHELLS THAT WERE IN THE OYSTERS. WE WAITED FOR ENTREES AND WAITED 65 MINUTES FINALLY ASKING FOR THE BILL SO WE COULD LEAVE.... SO IF YOU DON'T MIND THE WAIT PLEASE GO....
We went to McCormick and Schmidt’s for dinner for my moms 56th birthday. My kids were there along with my brother, sister and husband.
The food was great but our server was ridiculously rude. It got to the point where it was comical.
The hostess was sweet and telling my mom about all the great gluten free options, but once we asked the server about a specific dish he rolled his eyes and said he “didn’t have time for this”.
Never brought us our drinks, I had to go ask the bartender for a glass of wine for my mom.
I had to get up and pour our own water because it had been 30 minutes since the server came to check on us.
These are things that just popped into my head, he was awful and said insulting things to basically everyone at the table. I would have gotten up and left or complained but I was just desperately trying to save my moms birthday and didn’t want to create anymore drama.
I would go back because the food is good and everyone else is super nice that works there. If I ever get put in the section of the tall balding guy with a chip on his shoulder, I will gladly ask to just sit at the bar.
Unfortunately no one to attend us after sitting us. Came for lunch after making reservations and expected great time with my family and good food. Stood up after 10 minutes and even after leaving and told why leaving, they acted careless and with no intention of making it right.
The doors were closed at 11:06 am. They were supposed to open at 11am!!
The older waitress/bar tender lady had an attitude when I informed the back door was also locked.
She is working in the wrong profession.....zero customer service.
My clam chowder could have been warmer, the waitress doesn’t know her menu. My client asked her a very basic question about an item.
Too bad, I used to frequent this place 1-2 per week.
We made reservations here because a family member had recommended it, unfortunately I can not say the same. It was truly the worst dining experience ever. Our table was not ready when we arrived at our reserved time so we were directed to the bar where we ordered drinks while we waited. When our table was ready the hostess was in a big hurry to get us seated however we were informed that we had to pay for our drinks in the bar and the only person who could ring us up was the person who took our order. It took 15 mins to track her down. Then we were seated where it was another15-20 mins before anyone even approached our table, at which point our server let us know service was going to be extremely slow which was not a lie as start to finish we were there for 3 hours. It was 30 mins before our server filled
Our water glasses
And brought the bread WE had to request twice. When we finally received our food of the four of us only one person in our party got their food the way it was ordered. Two of us could only eat about 4-5 bites of our steaks because they were close to raw in the center. Our server came to our table a total of 3 times during the 3 hours we were there, and he was not the one who delivered our food, so it was not until he showed up to see if we wanted dessert and to deliver our bill that we were able to let him know there was a problem with our food. Instead of saying I’m sorry would you like me to have it re cooked, or anything remotely accommodating he got hostile saying, “well why didn’t you speak up until now if there was an issue”, told him one we hadn’t seen him till just now and two one of our party members was concerned about her food being spit in after watching the way the guest in the table next to us were treated when they voiced similar concerns, to which our server stated, “we only spit in the food of rude customers.” Rather than continuing to argue and further ruin our New Years Eve we got our check and left.
To be fair and honest, the only reason why we went was because we had a gift certificate given to us by a friend. The service was disappointing, nothing horrible but nothing spectacular either. The food, for the price, was subpar. The noise level was outrageous. It's Saving Grace was that we had a seat by the window, otherwise if you're smack dab in the middle of the floor, you're probably really suffering. All in all it's not horrible, it's just not good.
The waiter gave a great walk-through of the menu and suggested some good cocktails, but it went a bit sideways from there. One meal was wrong and had to be sent back, in a rush to take orders missed the soup/salad step, ordered a bottle of wine and got a glass of something different, weak on attention but it was pretty busy. On the plus side was good appetizers and the tuna and sole were fresh and tasty. Overall, the food mixup and the wine finally arriving toward the end of dinner were distractions to an otherwise nice restaurant.
I have gone to McCormick and Schmick's over the years at different locations, and unfortunately it is my assessment that the food quality has diminished significantly. Absent from this location (Bellevue, WA) is the daily fresh list which I thought used to be signature feature of the restaurant. My wife had the very small lobster tails which tasted okay. However the mashed potatoes had a lobster-bisque-as-gravy concoction which was frankly terrible in taste. I had the "breaded cakes" that had some crab and shrimp in it, and it also had raw onions mixed in. Sadly, it just was not appealing whatsoever. Desert was okay, and perhaps I chose poorly. I had the brioche bread pudding that had been soaked in rum. I imagine that some people probably would have liked it. Overall, a very disappointing experience, and the likelihood of returning is low to nil.
