Looking forward to celebrating my birthday dinner Saturday the 9TH but waitress was very unknowable. I pointed at the appetizer twice and said it twice but she return 3 to 5 minutes later asking what did I order again.
Then my girlfriend told her it was my birthday so she wanted the chocolate bag. We both knew she was going to place a candle on the dessert but she didn't. So we had to wait for her to return to get a candle.. her ice cream was melting.. I had to begged for a candle on my birthday. Wow.
Bad service and bad food
Honestly the worst McCormick & Schmick’s. The meal was a disappointment. The presentation of the shrimp cocktail—5 shrimp on a bed of ice. I could do better at home. The asparagus was limp and burnt—not edible. The mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box. The service was subpar and the waitress seemed high. I will not be going back.
Presentation of Grilled king salmon - ? where r the asparagus ? We did not get acknowledged that it was our anniversary. Server(s) did not provide the best of the best ambiance.
When you go to restaurant you’ve never been to for a special advertised by the restaurant (don’t have it) when you order a drink (have to ask 3 times where it is) when you ask what the small plate is for (oh yeah it’s for bread, do you want some) Wow this was embarrassing.
Service was not the nicest and food was average for the price.
The food was too expensive for lunch and for the quality of the food served. They hardly had any customers and I'm guessing that has a lot to do with them not being busy.
We had a poor experience at McCormicks primarily due to the fact that two of their servers had medical issues and were absent that evening. The manager did a great job of trying to pick up the slack but we still spent 2 1/2 hors oil a dinner that should have been an hour. We love the food and will go back hoping for a full staff on our next visit.
I was disappointed that my stake came with a few uncooked vegetable only and no other side. My husband ordered fish and his dish came with a few cooked beets. For the price charged, there should be a bit more generous side dishes including some carb. I recommend bread and butter be offered as well.
Mediocre food, slow service. Not what I was hoping for. Had the stuffed salmon and it was mostly cream cheese and artichoke, no crab or shrimp.
My husband and I planned a night out to use a gift card we'd had for nearly a year. We fought traffic and a torrential downpour to get to Bellevue from Kent so we were a little stressed when we arrived and ordered drinks and an appetizer right when we sat down. Our drinks finally showed up 20 minutes later after we inhaled a basket of bread, still waiting on our appetizer. Within a few minutes of getting our drinks, our salad and soup came out with our main course. We would have preferred to enjoy a cocktail with our appetizer, salad, and soup and then ordered a bottle of wine with our meal but the whole experience was timed poorly and we did not fully enjoy our meal. Our server certainly did not exude confidence or competence in what she was doing either. My husband and I are parents to a 1-year old and do not get many opportunities to go on a date night so this was disappointing to say the very least.
McCormick's never disappoints. The service is always excellent, as is food preparation and presentation.
Worst service ever. Their draft beers were out of service because they ran out of nitrogen. What top notch restaurant doesn’t stock that? Server would disappear for 20 minutes at a time, had to ask other servers for attention and help, had to ask for every drink and water refill needed. Made a 1.5 hour dinner last 3 whole hours. Took kitchen extremely long to make and deliver food. The restaurant was only 20-25% full so there shouldn’t be an excuse. Will not be returning and extremely disappointed. Absolutely ruined our special occasion dinner.
Our waiter was great. Always love everything about the experience.
This restaurant is just trying to get by on location. Other options now nearby do they might want to start making an effort. This was one of the worst meals out we’ve had in a long time. Terrible. Overcooked, overdone, wrong on specific order. Bad service but TERRIBLE FOOD
Everything was horrible.
Food was very salty ....
We asked about the manager to talk and he didn’t care about our request
We eat here often. Drink service was very slow this visit. Food was good, but not cooked as well as usual. I guess it was an off night. Some kids were driving radio controlled cars through the dining area! Really? Take them to McDonalds.
Great food and service was awesome! My wife and I would recommend this place for sure!
Over an hour for food. Didn’t see the server until 30 minutes after we were seated. Food wasn’t worth the money. 1st visit was awesome. 2nd visit wasn’t very well.
Salads were disappointing, not much taste. However, the Salmon dish was nice, but expensive.
This is a good and bad scenario - we had received two $50 gift cards as a present for my retirement two years ago, and we finally had an opportunity to use them on a Saturday night. I'll start with the bad - I had made reservations a few days earlier, so I was not concerned. When we arrived for our 7:45pm reservation, we got to the counter where the host/maitre 'd SHOULD have been. There was another couple there that had been there for a few minutes ahead of us. It was 5 minutes before either one of us were even acknowledged, and then it was by one of the wait staff, who said that someone was going to be with us. It was several minute before what I had assumed was the host came up to us, and he asked us and the other couple of we have reservations - the other couple did not, but we did. The host checked, but could not find our reservation, and stated that Open Table sometimes didn't get the info passed on. He did say that he would get us a table, but it was another 10 - 15 minutes before he did, and he seemed to be too busy clearing tables and serving ( that shouldn't have been his job!) than to deal with us. Once we finally got our table, things got much better.our hostess was first rate, and got our orders right. We were served within. 15 minutes of our order, and the food was excellent! This didn't make up for the wait, or watching the reservation desk being ignored by the host (there were several groups waiting, with empty tables available). There seemed to be enough staff available to clean tables and take orders, but the host was doing jobs that he should not have been doing.
We wanted to dine at this McCormick and Schmick for a relaxed, fine dining. We have dined here for over 20 years.
This night, it was one of the worst fine dining experience. Everything came out at once. Our appetizer, salads and our entrees. No one seemed to be controlling the timing of bring out the plates in order as it had been done in the past. We felt like we were at a road side diner where food is slung out in any manner. We did speak to our waitress and was given an explanation that their chief chef has been on a leave of absence, so no one seem to be controlling the line. However, we were told that chef has been out for over two months. Shouldn’t someone, with some guidance from the management, stepped up to meet the quality control in the kitchen?
It truly did not help that there was a table of two families apparently celebrating two boys’ birthdays. Kids screeched, food was spilled and gift wraps were dropped onto the floor and during the entire time children, there were 5 of them, ran circles around the floor. A truly McDonald experience. During the entire time, the parents drank wine, not caring a whit. Now, it may not be the restaurant ‘s fault, but the management should ask the patrons to meet certain decorum.
It was truly a disappointing experience.
Considering this survey request came from Open Table, I find it ironic that when we got there, the restaurant had no reservation for us, obviously made through Open Table who sent this survey.
The food I ordered was sword fish with onions & beets. I could not identify the beets. They looked black and uninviting and the sword fish was bland. I ordered chocolate silk pie which was overly sweet and seemed to be frozen and left to thaw. I was really looking forward to it. I gave it to my husband. He and my son ordered Cream Brulie which was late in being delivered to our table because they had no propane to torch the top of the desert.
Big bummer this big birthday bash. We come 10-12 times a year, but this time huge bummer
Steak was cooked so wrong. One side cooked and other side not cooked. and when it went back to cook just on one side, came back even worse. Cold mashed.
Will start looking for a new place after this. Had to give half of my $40 steak to my dog because cooked so badly. Used to love this place.
Disappointed overall experience. Food was terrible, vegetable are over cooked and dry, steak and lobster were over done, demi glazed sauce tasted funny. We had to ask for bread. I can keep going on but you get the picture .... BAD BAD BAD!!!! Not going back here and not recommended!
We were dining with family, who were here visiting from Michigan. A wonderful time was had by all. Thank you, for a wonderful dining experience!
With very few tables taken for lunch, table service should have been stellar. Instead, we were virtually forgotten enough, we had to search for our waitress. Food is excellent, ambiance wonderful, location great, so we looked forward to meeting here. Unfortunately, with the poor service and music so loud it interfered with conversation, one of our party simply had enough and left in frustration. Embarrassing as I chose the restaurant.
We had an excellent waiter - older gentleman- first class
Went downhill over the last few years. Food was way over priced and just adequate. Service was slow and restaurant was 3/4 empty at 6:30 on a Saturday night. Not a good sign
The food was ordinary to put it best. And I expect ordinary food most of the time. But at these prices? Never again.
The lady that served us was wonderful. My dinner companion and I talked a lot and she gave us time to talk, and when we said we were ready, took the order. Great.
I've been a patron off and on of the McCormick & Schmick restaurants for the past 24 years and I have to say the food quality has dropped from the early years. Various store locations have closed as well. They used to have a generous seafood or crab louis salad to today the closest is a lobster tower salad which does not have the flavor at all nor the variety of vegetables. The venue is still great and has ambiance and charm, but my main issue is the food quality. I was very proud to be a patron and hope that they bring back the crab louis salad. My colleague had the beer batter fish-n-chips which was acceptable, just not outstanding. I will continue to drop in from time to time in hopes they've improved, but the for past few years the menu hasn't changed too much. My choice was made based on trying to find a health option that had some protein for lunch. My suggestion is refocus on the food quality and the business will pick-up. The service is above average but could be improved.
One of our favorite restaurants when available when we travel. Great food!
Food is always solid and consistent, but pricy for quantity. But a busy night, so we were places in one quadrant if he restaurant while there were more comfortable booths available.
We had a great meal and very good drinks. I had the sea bass special recommended by our server. Very tasty broth and the fish was delicious. Service was paced about right. It was not very busy but there were some larger tables that took the server away some but we never felt neglected. Great table up front near the windows. It was fun watching all the foot traffic going by out front. Good spot for people watching.
One of the beers on the menu that my customer really wanted was not available. The food preparation was very good.
From the moment we walked in the door the service was very poor. We were not cheerfully greeted and the hostess did not know what to do with us. When we were seated it appeared that no staff was assigned to our table. Others who came in after us were greeted a served while we sat with no attention. Finally someone asked if we had been served and when we said no they went to find someone. We think the bartender was recruited to serve our table. Even then the service was slow, we were brought the wrong drinks, and everything appeared to be an afterthought. We say other tables receiving friendly service with waiters that talked to them but that is not what we received. We will never go there again.
Additionally, when I made reservations online I was asked if it was a special occasion to which I checked the box that it was our anniversary. I don't know why they asked as they did nothing with that information.
We showed up fifteen minutes before our 9:30 reservation to fond the doors locked, customers seated at tables and employees standing behind the counter. A total waste of an uberbride.
The swordfish was raw, the salmon overcooked and dry. We needed to send both back for refiring. The refires were satisfactory, though the salmon refire was under. Our server and the manager handled the issues well, comping one entree and a dessert. It was disappointing, as fish is their specialty.
