Marginal quality food, had to ask for drink refills, empty at noon on a Friday. Won’t be returning
The seafood selections are great. We enjoyed two different types of mixed platters including shrimp, crab and Atlantic salmon. Unfortunately for those of us who do not like all seafoods, substitutions are not allowed on the mixed grill options. The ambience for this location, right at the corner of Bellevue Way and across from Bellevue Square, is lively and interesting. Service toward the end of our meal was a little slow, as we sat for 15 minutes after finishing our meal before our plates were cleared and we were able to ask someone for the check. Other than that, the friendliness and efficiency of the service was excellent. It appeared they were a little understaffed for the dinner hour. Also, a note for Landry’s members. This location no longer participates the points program, even though they are still listed on the Landry’s website.
We each had a delicious meal (the trio of salmon, shrimps, & crab-stuffed shrimp), nicely presented, and served by a helpful waiter. The restaurant had a very pleasant ambience, especially as there was an excellent pianist playing peaceful music in the background. We will likely return next time we are in Bellevue.
The overall experience was good. We were surprised though to learn that McCormick & Schmick’s was no longer part of the Landry’s family of restaurants. We had planned to use some of our points to buy dinner with and ended up unable to do so. Not the restaurant’s fault but disappointing. The manager discounted our food bill (not our bar bill) by 10% as a good will gesture which we appreciated.
This dining experience was poor from start to finish. There was no one at the hostess station to great us, and we waited for 10 minutes for someone to notice us waiting (with a reservation). The meal itself was one of the worst we've had in a long, long time. To start, the drinks were poorly made, so we only had one. The "simply prepared GRILLED" fish was soaked in oil, and the plate was covered in it. The vegetables were undercooked, and the scallops were sandy. The scallop dish was supposed to come with a butternut puree- there was a scant amount of white liquid sauce under the scallops, so we asked about the puree. The server came back with a ramekin of the puree (more of the white liquid), and it was ICE COLD. He clearly just grabbed it out of the cooler and brought it to the table unprepared. We didn't complain but also didn't eat it. Dessert was never offered, not that we would have tried it, and the check never arrived. I finally got up to ask a hostess for our check (the server was no where to be found) and then had to track another person down 20 minutes after we received it to process our credit card. Once the card was returned, my plate was finally removed from the table. Terrible meal and experience. Never again.
Were seated on arrival as we had an reservation. Was served water, but, had to ask for bread. Waitress was prompt, but, clearly uninterested throughout the meal. Appetizer, clam chowder, was served at room temperature, which was sent back to be reheated. The scallops entree, had three and one half scallops, was room temperature and there was very little sauce. The sea bass was excellent!!
As it was our 50th anniversary we were comp’d a cream brûlée. The bill was $117, had 2 $50 gift card and was charged $27.45, good figure.
Will not be returning.
Unfortunately it was an off night for the restaurant. Despite some of the staffs efforts, the timing was off, the food was cold, and even the server and managers kindness couldn’t overcome our disappointment of our evening. We went to celebrate our mother’s birthday and our evening was an absolute upset. It our routine when we come to Bellevue to enjoy a dinner at this restaurant. Maybe it’s time for something new for our family. It’s truly a shame.
Food was ok but luke-warm/cold - not even close to what you would expect at McCormick & Schmicks
Restaurant seemed to be understaffed w/ very very slow service
This fell way short of what I would expect from this restaurant given previous good experiences in other cities
I will NEVER go back to this location
Food is excellent, but it is on the expensive side. The service was excellent.
Terrible experience, unfortunately. Hostess was rude, waiter was nice but stretched way too thin. The food was just ok, absolutely nothing special. Would not eat here again.
Waited bread for a long time. Bread came after entree. Service is good tho.
Honestly cannot believe I'm writing this review. We were thoroughly disappointed with our Valentine's Day dinner. Can't overstate that enough. Service was wonderful even though she was overwhelmed. The meal, however, was genuinely unforgivable. My wife's steak was overcooked and poor quality (emphasis) and my "King" salmon was white and had not a hint of pink or blood orange meat... I know salmon and I know that wasn't quality salmon. In all sincerity, the beets (part of the entree) was the highlight of the meal. I am the most optimistic and forgiving person I know on meals... and this one was something we could've gotten at 1/3 the price at an Applebee's. Very, very disappointed, in spite of the server's graciousness and work ethic. Thank you.
Very nice dinner on Valentine’s day. Perfect seating and privacy. Amazing seafood.
We had reservations at 7:00, got seated around 7:15. I was excited to order the New York strip only to find out they had just ran out. I ordered the filet instead. When the waitress brought the steak, she apologized for the looks of it and said she wished she had something better for me.
Overall OK. Portions very small from the apps to the mains. Not a great "value" for money. OK service but not outstanding. Better restaurants in Bellevue for the price.
We'd never been to this restaurant before, but had a gift card given to us as a Christmas present. Totally enjoyed the experience. Thanks!
Service was good however they needed to redo my steak. They were very attentive and had another one out to me in less than 10 minutes. We felt like valued customers and would dine here again.
We had excellent service, waiter was very friendly . the food was excellent and most enjoyable, the meat was very tender as were the vegetables. Food better then most every restaurant in the area.
thank you very mush
Food was overpriced and horrible. I was very disappointed as I expected so much better in Bellevue. We will never go back to this place.
My experience there was a huge disappointment, the waiter had way too many tables to keep up with which caused us waiting a good 15 mins before having anyone greet us for our drinks, it took forever to get refills also. My husband was missing part of his dinner and my steak was cold. When I asked to speak to a manager the person who delivered our food to the table and strug his shoulder as me but never got a manager
For what I spent for the service I reserved was not worth it and we will not return, I'm still extremely upset that we had to pay for everything..
My husband and I have been here several times so we were eager to return with friends. Unfortunately, it seemed like the restaurant was having an "off" night. The portions seemed smaller and it took a long time to get our orders. We won't rush back here.
Service was terrible. Took 70 mins to get our order, food was over cooked they did not have mashed potaotes said they were making them. The sever asked if we wanted our salads with our entrees we said yes she brought half of the salads and told the other half they would be coming with their meals. I spoke the manager and he said he was working with all new staff. No service recovery.
It was 4:45 pm reservation. We were not greeted at our table for well over 20 minutes after being seated and only after saying something. There were only about 6 tables in the whole restaurant so it wasn't like it was crazy busy. They were out of mashed potatoes and they were out of iced tea. Seriously? On a Sunday early evening? I've been a server before and was seriously unimpressed. And the price of the food for what we got? So not worth it.
Decent food! A little pricey but not outrageous. I would recommend going
Astilaty between server's was very noticeably. Server checked on us 1 time thru are stay.
Food was good but slightly overpriced.
Unfortunately we had an incredibly poor experience at McCormick & Schmick’s on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was not overly busy & crowded. Our server mentioned to us that he was new to the restaurant when we had questions about the menu. We appreciated his ability to find the answers to our questions in a timely manner. However, the rest of our experience that night was incredibly poor. For a table of two guests, only one of our entrees was sent into the kitchen. So when we received our dinner, only one of us had a meal and the manager came out to explain that the other meal was never entered into the system and they could start cooking it now. We declined, paid our bill, and left. We will not be returning to this restaurant. We noticed many other tables having poor experiences for a variety of reasons, so I don’t want to put our poor experience on a new servers mistakes (which he came by to apologize and take accountability which was appreciated) it seems like the restaurant is not being managed in an efficient manner. I would not recommend visiting this restaurant.
My tuna special was cold and not even surface fried. I know tuna is supposed to be red but it was almost like they put the coating on this and then forgot to throw it in the frying pan.
After one bite they did quickly take it back to the kitchen and got it back to me quickly but it was still not a hot dinner.
We had a great night. Food was wonderful as well as service. Quality and value were on point. Thank you.
The server was great at the start but th en she seemed to forget about us. There wasn’t many tables occupied but seemed to spend a lot more time at one table. She forced our wine order until we said something to a table attendant. By that time we we’re almost done with our entree. We did finally got one glass of wine thanks to the matre (sp)
Than when we got our bill our waitress forgot to deduct our gift card. Again she just waived off the mistake but did make the correction.
The scallops were great
I canceled this reservation but open table was not working - but would have loved to had the opportunity to eat here but the website has not been updated. We initially reserved here for the happy hour but was informed they don’t offer it here anymore. Sad to cancel the reservation.
After reviewing the menu and price point online, I had expected an upscale steak and seafood joint. I was sadly mistaken. While it was apparent by the decor that they had tried, it fell sadly short. The bread that came to the table was warm and seemed fresh, but smelled distinctly of plastic. My entree (the seafood trio @ $32), was barely warm and, I would suspect, was made well in advance of my order in anticipation of a future order. The salmon was overcooked and the Dungeness crab stuffed shrimp tasted like a premade crab salad you might find at your local grocery store, warmed and then spooned atop a few shrimp.
Call me picky, but I had also expected fresh ground pepper to be offered.
While our server was great and the wine was good, that is where the positive points of this experience end.
New Year’s Day
The menu has been changed; my favorite calms or mussels are no longer available. Prices are gone up much. I was also told that the reward point system is going to terminate soon .......
We entered at about 10 minutes prior to our reservation. The hostess says that there’s been an error and then says that she needs to seat another group before us. So we say, okay we’ll have some drinks at the bar. Ten minutes later, we finally order our drinks. It’s now 20 minutes past our reservation and the hostess hasn’t checked on us. So we go and ask. She has our table ready- but there are no napkins, knifes or forks on our table. Then the waitress comes over and says are you guys ready to order? No we weren’t, she then doesn’t come back after 20 minutes. It’s now 930pm- our reservation was at 830. I ordered a cup of chowder- which was so salty- there was no taste of anything else. I tell my waitress that it was salty- she responds, the soup is made in the morning so it’s expected to be salty. ?!?! My soup was not replaced. The food itself was okay. The service of wanting more drinks or simply asking us if we need anything else was missing big time. I asked another waiter if the waitress could come by so that we could order our second round of drinks (We still had the same drinks from the bar.) 15 minutes later we finally get our second round of drinks. It was our first time- very disappointed will not be coming back to any location.
I've eaten at M granted they were slammed and said that people seemed to be sitting longer and just not leaving. So I give some grace on the delay. However, the first two entrees we tried to order were sold out/unavailable as were the first 3 bottles of wine we requested. The food was fair, but it took awhile. It just didn't seem to be a well run restaurant, at least that night. We were disappointed, especially since we have had great experiences there in the past.
Food was great, as usual. The preparation seems to change occasionally; yet always is attractive as well as tasty. Service time was perfect. Jonathan was attentive without being overbearing -- couldn't have asked for better. Plus he was always friendly and answers any questions about the food. Salad, then meal came within a very reasonable amount of time. Ambiance has always impressed me; and is quiet enough for some with hearing issues, especially if the dining areas are not packed.
Went there with the intent of having a nice meal with family … we were seated, a waitress came by and we ordered some appetizers that took quite a while to arrive - and that's when the plan for a meal wended south! The Ahi looked as it was salvaged from remnants of another dish and smelled terrible. The cheese burger was burnt to a crisp … more like a hockey puck than food really - you get the picture! a couple more orders arrived and we declined to eat, not fit for human consumption it is that simple. We asked for our check, we even paid them, then walked out and ended up having chicken sandwiches at Wendy's.
In the past 4 months, we have been to 3 of Landry's restaurants; The Boathouse in Vancouver BC, Morton's Steakhouse in Portland OR, and the latest is McCormick & Schmick's in Bellevue WA … all three establishments should be shifting to cattle feed stations - it is incredible they are actually remaining open … not much foot traffic, but doors open. I wonder for how long?
Food not that good and expensive. Waitress was great.
I was very unhappy with my meal . I asked for my fish fryer or grilled . That was perfect
Asked for plane bock Choi , and potato. Potatoes where hard , my meal was soaked in a balsamic sauce. Plane means plane. Tarter sauce was so hot chill hot that a child could have cried . My salad had so much horseradish in the dressing.
Our server had her mind somewhere else. Not happy
