McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
It was Valentine's Day and our original reservation did not work out. So we booked a table here and were very pleased! The food was delicious, the server was funny and friendly. The night view of the water was also quite nice! We would definitely return.
Also: SIGN UP FOR THE LANDRY CARD! I signed up months ago, forgetting about it. But when I used it that night we got $50 off our meal! Worth the membership!
It has been awhile since dining at M&S. I used to take clients as their menu included a large listing of fresh fresh flown in daily along with at least 10 types of oysters. To my surprise this no longer exist. All they feature is Scottish salmon. We went for valentine's and my wife ordered the twin lobster tails. I should have known something was off when the server asked if she wanted a third for $10 more. The tails were the size of jumbo prawns. For the price it was a real ripoff . I had the salmon but it was nothing special. Their menu is now nothing special but for the prices they are charging you feel taken advantage of. I am sure the rent for the incredible harbor location is high but changing and creating plain vanilla menu to make a profit is not a sustainable business model. I talked to several of my friends about our experience and they had same experience. I guess the restaurant's new business model is to lose local clientele and focus on unsuspecting tourists to the city who would only come once anyway. Save your money and go to more moderately priced seafood restaurants which have equal or better offerings at a reasonable price.
Dinner reservation for 8:15 pm... our group was seated around 8:40. A waiter did not come to take our order for over 20 minutes. We waited over an hour for our meals. The waiter forgot about our soup. My steak was overdone this was sent back. We asked to speak to a manager however he did not come to our table. This was an unfortunately a terrible dining experience. We have been at this restaurant in the past without encountering any problems with the service. This time we were beyond disappointed. I’m not sure that we will be back
SERVICE WAS EXTREMELY SLOW & WAITER KEPT DISSAPEARING. WAITER SAID THE KITCHEN WAS BACKED UP & THE FOOD ALSO TOOK A VERY LONG TIME TO BE SERVED. THE FOOD ALSO CAME OUT COLD, WHICH MAKES ME THINK THE FOOD SAT A WHILE BEFORE BEING SERVED. HAD THE LOBSTER BISQUE, WHICH HAD ALMOST NO LOBSTER IN IT AND FOR ALMOST $10.00 PER CUP, WAS VERY OVERPRICED. A BOWL WOULD HAVE BEEN ALMOST $20.00 FOR NOTHING BUT FLAVORED BROTH/CREAM. THE ONLY GOOD THING WAS THE COCONUT SHRIMP APPETIZER WHICH HAD A VERY GOOD SAUCE & THE SHRIMP WERE ALSO DONE JUST RIGHT. THE OTHER NOTABLE THING WAS THE ATMOSPHERE WAS VERY NICE & A WONDERFUL VIEW. OK TO GO THERE FOR THE BAR/LOUNGE, AS LONG AS YOU DON'T EAT THE FOOD.
I have been to M&S many times over the years. It has always just been OK. I got the crab cake and filet with asparagus and cheddar mashed potatoes. The crab cake has gotten smaller. The filet did not have much taste. The asparagus was very green. And the cheddar mashed were very dry. I husband got the sirloin rare...and it was rare. The prices have gotten out of hand. Too much for mediocre food. The setting is nice on the water, but it was a rainy February night, so nothing to look at through the fog. It is very loud in there and always has been. It's been awhile since we have visited and probably will be awhile til we go back. The waitress was outstanding!
We were there for a special occasion. I ordered the filet steak and crab cake. The steak was very dry. I did not even eat the crab cake because it was so bad. My daughter felt the same way about her steak and crab cake. I ordered to pear martini which was very good and then I ordered a second pear martini which was awful. The waiter rarely came to our table. The entire experience was very disappointing and I would not go back to the restaurant.
My wife and I went to McCormick & Schmick’s for our “date night”. We’d been here before, but 4 years ago. The place is very nice, ambiance is great, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, but the quality of food is not worth the price tag it comes with. I got the ribeye. I asked for it to be cooked “medium”. Instead, they gave me “rare”. I told our server (Rebecca, she was great) and she returned it for more cooking. Both the manager and cook cake out to see if my steak was cooked correctly this time, which I appreciated. Yes, they got it right the second time, but by now I was annoyed at having to wait. Prior to the steak, we had a dozen oysters, which were delicious. I also had a cup of lobster bisque, which tasted good, but which was lukewarm at best. Overall, the experience wasn’t worth what I ended up paying (over $200, including tip). For that much money, for two people, for the experience we had, I should’ve paid less.
It’s was my daughter’s birthday and I was very disappointed. The food was cold and not seasoned well. The crab cakes were not what I’m used to. The coating on the crab cakes were like box fish. Some of my quest coating was white. I was not impressed. The best part of the evening was the manager who accommodated my extra guest.
We always enjoy eating here. We have a Landry frequent diner account. We especially like the Baltimore Inner Harbor location because of the fabulous views. We have eaten in many restaurants in this chain but we think the food is best at this one. The Bloody Mary's were spicy, but not too much. We often get the lobster Cobb salad tower wherever we are, again these are the best. Better than some of the others, generous with the lobster meat and bleu cheese. Our waiter was cordial, prompt without being pushy. I had a birthday award and was greeted by the manager because of it. Nice touch. When so many places have gone away or disappointed. It is good to know that this tradition is still here, perhaps even better!
We had not been to this location since 2000. We found it to be both scenic and secluded. We had the whole dining area to ourselves during the latter 3/4 of our meal. The Crab Dip was delicious and the steaks were very good. Our server, Simeon, was excellent and shared some of his personal story as a Moroccan.
This place was an abomination! Had 7:00 pm dinner reservations on Christmas Day for me and my wife. Got seated quickly, maybe a 10 minute wait. Our waiter Spencer took our drink and meal orders. He told us the kitchen was running a bit behind cause of the holiday. Looking around in the restaurant there were a lot of open tables, so we just said ok. At 7:30 our appetizer came out and again stated be patient with the kitchen. At 8:35 with no meal and the restaurant not full we had enough. How long does it take to cook 2 steaks? 10 minutes maybe? This was ridiculous. Our Christmas dinner was ruined! We asked for the check and the manager came over and apologized and took our sodas and app off of the bill. We will never ever come to this dump of a place again. Not even if they offered a free meal. Just a joke of a place. If I could give no stars that would be better.
Went here for a Christmas dinner, what a mistake! Totally inept service, waited forever for food and it came out separately, 30 minutes wait for the second appetizer
to arrive, then another 45 minutes for the entrees to come out. Food was awful. My entree was missing the cucumber pickle on top. The waiter brought out a plate of pickled cucumbers that were inedible, so salted it made me spit them out. Desserts were horrible. The server brought out coffee without saucers, or creamer, and no teaspoons, then 10 minutes later showed up with 2 soup spoons and 2 small ramekins of milk. Everyone in our dining room section complained about the food and service. Avoid this place when visiting Baltimore.
We visited this restaurant on Christmas night. We had 6:30pm reservation. The service at the bar and at the table was horrible. We didn't receive items requested and most of the food came out wrong. Dirty dishes were piled up on everyone's table while I saw a manager in the office sleeping. As the servers, etc. would walk by you had to ask them to clear your table. It took them 2.5 hours to get us our food. This is totally unacceptable considering the amount of money we spent on dinner for the six of us. You would have thought the service would and could have been better. We will never visit this restaurant again.
Been to the restaurant several times and had a great experience. However, this we went for Christmas dinner. Service was horrible. Had a 6:15pm reservation. Was immediately seated. Food didn't arrive to the table until after 830pm. The manager ultimately made it right and our waiter Demeterius was great. But overall I was not impress with services at all.
*sigh* I've been to McCormick and Schmick's plenty of times but this was my first time at this location. It took over an hour and a half to receive our dinner, when it came, it was room temperature. I have contacted their corporate office, I was told I would receive a follow-up call from a manager; that was two days ago.
Christmas dinner, service was extremely confused. It took 20 mins for drink order. Appetizers came before drinks. Food arrived cold and dried out. Bill had listed wrong items that were $10 more than what we ordered. When questioned, the waiter said it was "automatic", so he never bothered to check that the bill was correct. I would not recommend this restaurant, far too expensive for mediocre food and poor service.
