McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Baltimore
Book your next event with us
We went for their Veterans Day special. It is by far the best meal you will get on Veterans Day.
My husband and I made reservations for 8:00, to celebrate our anniversary. We checked in at 10 till 8 and the hostess told us we could wait at the bar until a table opened. There was a male employee standing near her and he told my husband “at the rate this is going you’re better off ordering at the bar.” We waited until 8:40 and finally just ordered food at the bar. The wait staff and bartenders complained loudly all night about how they were ready to go home and the day had been too long and busy. We were told the restaurant was out of bread completely. When our food came and we asked for linens and utensils they gave us cocktail napkins. They said they were out of linens as well. This was definitely not the experience we expected at McCormick and Schmidt’s.
We waited for a waiter after being seated at our table for what I think was unwelcoming, I estimate the wait to be thirty (30) minuets or more, after placing our orders another 30 to 45 minuets passed before we received our food. We got no bread, and when we requested bread, we were told that the restaurant had run out of bread. In my 78 years of life, eating in restaurants all over the world, this was the first time a restaurant had run out of bread. I have had very pleasant dining experiences at M&C restaurants before.
I took my dad to McCormick & Schmick's on Sunday for Veteran's Day!! We had a great time as both his and my meal were complimentary and delicious!! We got nice homemade bread served to our table before we ordered and also ordered our drinks - I got the calamari for both of us for an appetizer and we both ordered the fried shrimp which came with fries and cole slaw! It was really great!! For dessert, we both ordered the upside down cinnamon apple pie with cinnamon ice cream!! Really incredible awesome! We had a nice time and dad talked about it all the way home! Thanks again for a great day!! So really nice that you do this for the veterans as they sure deserve it!!
This has been one of the best downtown Baltimore restaurants to honor Veterans. Outside of November the 10th, I have visit here several times and I have found it to be the same. A great place to visit with friends and family. The food is awesome and timeliness to receive your meal was found to be head above most of the other downtown restaurants.
Excellent place to celebrate a special occasion . as well as spend an evening with friends and family
We like M&S as a rule
However, we were disappointed to say the least
Neither the hostess or our waiter Juan took the extra place settings away
The clam chowder was basic and not particularly tasty
The Fish & Chips Was uninspiring!
Juan was utilitarian and did his best to “upswell” throughout
Overall, we were disappointed
However, we will likely try another M&S - likely not in Baltimore
What a great waiter and venue to have a quiet business lunch. The service was impeccable but not intrusive. Our waiter was there when we needed him.
The food was the main event. Oysters were as fresh as if they were just harvested. The crab cake sandwich was very filling and tasty. Will be back in two weeks for lunch again!
Service was fantastic. Food prepared well.
The restaurant staff were great!!! They were accommodating with our late arrival. They provided a free dessert for our bride to be and of course the filet and crab cake were amazing!!!
The staff providing our service and the food was excellent!!!
Experience was outstanding. The service was great and the food was fantastic. I had the filet and crab cake and my wife had the crab stuffed shrimp. We ended the dinner with the upside down apple pie that was unbelievable.
Kelly provided wonderful, prompt customer service. The food was delicious.
Bring your flashlight to read the menu. The food was excellent and the service was good but not outstanding.
Service was meh but the location is excellent! Food was very decent, better then expected.
Service was very amateur especially for the price
Drinks made at the table was spectacular! Fun. Oysterology was awesome. Enjoyed dinner.
I was denied Keylime pie because it hasn’t sent yet. But the apple dessert I got instead was delicious
We went here for my husband’s 50 birthday and we were very disappointed! The service was slow, the food was just ok(definitely not worth the price), the parking was very expensive and we were told they couldn’t validate or ticket! Its nothing like it used to be! The best part was our waiter, who was nice. We will never return to this restaurant!
We went early so the restaurant was very quiet which we enjoyed. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The crab stuffed shrimp was excellent, but for the price I felt 5 wasn’t enough to fill me up. The restaurant is a bit pricy as most items are a la carte. We realize most restaurants in that area are the same; nothing included with the main course. The waitress we had was outstanding.
Food was very good but service was terrible. We were seated at 7:30. We did not get to order until 8:10 and it was after 9:00 before we had our food.
Everything was perfect!
Everything was great. From the service, to food, to ambiance. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to sit back and relax; take in the beauty of the night
Very disappointing dinner due to poor service and food served cold. We ordered a round of drinks with one being a special mixology drink suggested by our server that she would mix at our table. After about 10-15 minutes, the bartender brought 3 of our 4 drinks over to our table. Twenty minutes later, our server appeared and said she was waiting for a tool another server had at the moment so she could mix the special drink. We had been seated for 45 minutes at this point so we cancelled the special drink and ordered a regular cocktail. She appeared with that drink and our appetizers a few minutes later. The fried calamari was cold. When our meals arrived, the potatoes (fries) were also cold. All in all, not a great evening at a restaurant of this caliber.
It was all very nice and we enjoyed celebrating our anniversary and we received an amazing dessert from the restaurant.
The two seafood dishes we got, scallops and swordfish, were excellent. Salad greens were a little tired, even some brown around the edges, but salads were still good. Wine prices were quite high even for a restaurant. Service was very uninspired but serviceable. We enjoyed the outdoor dining but both of us left less than impressed.
It was our first visit the food was great and the restaurant was clean. And our waitress Britney was great also chef Richard. The restrooms were clean also we will return. It was worth the trip down. Thanks
I enjoyed everything about the dining experience with the exception of the music. It was too loud for a restaurant.
Alex was awesome! Food was great!
Very good meal and service was exceptional. Crab cakes were wonderful too.
Horrible service waited 2 hours after ordering
Was with client (8 people table). Waited for main course for over an hour and a half and the restaurant was not full! The Manager did not even come to the table to apologize.
Loved the happy hour menu and drinks and then got dinner
Got a reservation but the restaurant wasn't busy. Got seated quickly but with so many available tables, we were seated next to a loud table. It's like the deserted beach and someone sets up right next to you. Food wasn't very good and mine was room temperature. Server didn't offer us a dessert menu so we left disappointed and poorer. My wife got fried oysters and the serving size was skimpy (4 oysters the size of a dime) . All in all, we felt unwelcomed and unserved for too much money. Won't return.
This was by far my favorite place while in town. Great food with plenty of options. My wife and I both noticed the service was pretty slow, but then came to the conclusion that it was on purpose because everywhere we went, it was the same. Must be a Baltimore culture thing.
Service was great - appetizer of Shrimp Kisses and the drinks were great. Ordered the split King Crab Legs... for $40 received one leg and it was very over cooked. That was quite disappointing.
We sat outside close to the water. It was calm and beautiful. The menu's said "Happy 31st Birthday" which was such a thoughtful touch. Our server Jonathan was knowledgeable, kind, and funny. The cocktails were excellent. I ordered a margarita and my fiancé had a glass of wine. We ordered a dozen oysters from their "oysterology" menu that were served along side pomegranate juice, a granita (fancy shaved ice), spicy caviar pearls and of course the classic cocktail sauce. For our entrees, he ordered the Hawaiian Ahi Tuna which came with wasabi mashed potatoes. The wasabi mash was a hit and miss for me. Some bites had more wasabi than others , so my mouth was on fire. Still it's an interesting concept. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass Chesapeake. Which was beyond amazing! My fiancé liked mine so much he ate half of it. It was a wonderful experience and we'll definitely be going back.
High Quality Food- Reasonable Price- Great Location - Great Service----all the right ingredients
This was my fiancé and I first time eating here and it was Amazing. We came here for her birthday and she enjoyed everything from the ambiance to the service. Our waiter was excellent and continued to check on us to make sure the food was good as well as the drinks. Everything here was great including the complimentary birthday cake they brought out for my fiancé. I couldn’t have asked for a better restaurant. If I could it would get 10 stars!!
Great setting and ambiance. Food was okay but it was less that hot. Service was fine. It’s been a few years since my last meal there. I might try again when back in town.
