McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Baltimore
McCormick & Schmick's guarantees reservations for indoor dining only. Specific seating requests will be honored based upon availability. Outdoor seating is on a first come, first served basis.
We sat outside which was very nice, with great views of the harbor. Service was unexpectedly slow, not well timed, just slow which was surprising given that they were not busy. Later we learned that one entry was dropped, delaying our meal. An explanation would have been appreciated.
My wife ordered a Big eye tuna special, which was clumsily prepared. The sear must have been at too low a temperature because the outside 1/4 inch was cooked and they didn’t achieve a sharp line between the sear and raw tuna.
My crab cakes were mediocre at best. They arrived cold because of the delayed service.
We left disappointed and convinced that it’s just a tourist trap.
We were a party of 7!l and service was very slow. It didn’t seem too crowds but was exceptionally LOUD. The decor is old and worn out. Food was good but was WAY overpriced.
The seating hostess was rude. The patio was empty but would not give us a table to fit 3 people. Wanted us to squeeze into a tiny table for 2. Food was bland also. Terrible
Excellent service and food. All staff were very friendly.
An all around great experience. From the scallops to the sea bass, every morsel was perfectly cooked and delicious. Attentive staff met our every need and we could not have asked for a better experience.
Relaxing view, decent food, great service!
Our Server was Outstanding. She was pleasant, always smiling, listened well and explained options clearly.
I wish that i remembered her name
Food was very sub par.. undercooked with everything that was ordered. Definitely not worth the $$
Wonderful atmosphere and view with a delicious dinner
The food is impeccable and the service is great. The location is beautiful, a lovely room on the harbor.
The food was awful. Portion size was so ridiculously small for the money. I ordered the Hawaiian ahi tuna- it came out in one in square paper thin slices that looked like cooked pork. It was gray. Sent out back, never received the grilled asparagus I paid extra for. Do NOT go to this restaurant!! Waste of money, and disappointing!
Service was terrific, food, not so much. Trout was dry & not very tasty. Fish & chips was mostly crust. Salad had some spice in it that was too much for my husband.
This is disappointing as we have been going to M&S for years and have always found it very good.
Maybe there is too much excellent competition in the area...
It was our 39th Wedding Anniversary and we made the reservation that morning. We asked for some specifics as to where we would like to sit. EVERYTHING was perfect and to top it off they gave us a slice of chocolate cake. PERFECT. !!!
It's one of our favorite places to eat in downtown Baltimore. Always great food and good service. Love to eat outside and enjoy the harbor, but it was still a bit too chilly. So, we'll try again in a month or so.
Great food, great service, great night! Thanks to the staff for making dinner special for me and my wife! Many thanks!
Seafood selection limited, entrees expensive and skimpy. Price should include a salad, but doesn't.
Our server, La'Tesha (I think that she also goes by Tesh) was among the best servers we have ever had. She shared with us that she had relocated from Myrtle Beach (where she worked at a Landry restaurant) to Baltimore. Corporate should promote Tesh to a training position, for all Landry-affiliated restaurants, and get her enrolled in restaurant management courses. The food was excellent.
We live near Philly we always go there to eat, we love the food & the restaurant by the Harbor WE WILL BE BACK
Thanks for making my daughters birthday special! The food was delicious and great atmosphere as always.
We celebrate many major family events and holidays at M&S and today (3/17) we celebrated my Mother’s 90th birthday. The waiter, Alex was wonderfully, attentive, engaging, and professional. The manager, Elizabeth, recommended that we personalize the menus to include a birthday message and Mom was delighted! Great job M&S.
The cornmeal fried oysters were below average. Everything else was very good.
Having to pay for parking is not a good thing.
Our Waiter, Justin was incredible.
Best dining experience we have had in years! Our server Ryan was excellent and the food was prepared to perfection! It is a pricy restaurant, especially the drinks, but for a special occasion it was amazing!
Outstanding food and environment, service was very knowledgeable and friendly.
I took my mother to McCormick & Schmick to celebrate her 82nd birthday. She LOVED it. I was very happy that we chose to go there. The seating was comfortable. The food was delicious (you must try the shrimp kisses!) We enjoyed our entrés, and my mother raved about her lobster bisque. I thought my rockfish entrée was quite small for $31...but it WAS delicious nonetheless. Our server was lovely and attentive for the most part. I was surprised that she did not even offer a scoop of ice cream or a cookie to my mother since knowing it was my Mom's birthday (and it was noted on the Opentable reservation). Other than that, a great meal was had by Mom and me!
McCormick and Schmidt’s Baltimore is one of their better locations. Consistently serving good food.
They offered us private dining and it was great for our large party.
Excelente comida salmón y camarones y postre de manzana con helado expectacular
It seems as though the quality has decreased. My previous visit wasn't great, but I decided to give them another try. The food was mediocre and the service was lacking. In addition the music was loud and intrusive and not conducive to a relaxing dinner or conversation.
Great service and food. We had a very enjoyable dinner for a special occasion. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and he timed our dishes well. He was also very attentive. The crab tower was great and my steak was perfect.
Everything was ok. The menu is a bit pricey for what you get, but you should probably know/expect that going in. It’s one of those places where you just go in and order whatever you want, and hold your breath when the check arrives - lol.
In any event, for the most part the food was tasty, and the experience was enjoyable and worth repeating.
The Maryland crab soup (recommended by the waitress), was out of this world. As a MD resident and fan of the cuisine, I’ve had my fair share of MD crap soup; this was hands down the best I’ve ever had.
My wife and mother both had the ultimate mixed grill, (which consisted of grilled shrimp, stuffed shrimp, a crab cake and salmon)... which came with sautéed green beans and red pepper/cheddar mashed.
The shrimp were tasty, (I tried some), and they both raved about how delicious the salmon was - however, again - all of us being life long Marylanders, and fans of crab cakes, were all disappointed by the crab cakes. And considering my father got the crab cake sandwich as his meal, that was a big let down.
I chose the seared ahi tuna meal, and the portion size was a bit underwhelming, but that is actually standard for that dish, (and I prepared for such by starting with the soup), the taste of the dish was A+...
We went at 12:30pm on a Saturday, (lunch time, but by no means prime time), and the restaurant was nearly empty. 4-5 total tables filled with patrons.
The waitress was very polite, attentive, engaging and talkative. At no point did we feel like she ever tried to up-sell us or get us to order things to make the check higher, (we have had this big time at Ruth’s Chris Steak House). Aside from explaining dishes we ordered, the only thing she really seemed to recommend was the MD crab soup, which is possibly the cheapest thing on the menu aside from a side dish or two.
The only other negative is that my mother loves her food piping hot, and the food arrived on the warm side, (not hot) however, still acceptable.
Great staff and food!
Our first dining experience at this restaurant and we were very pleased. Our waiter, Alec was very attentive and suggested menu choices which were outstanding.
A great place for dining near the harbor! Customer service is very good as well as affordable fine dining.
service was the best...wish they offered regular menu...food was ok.
Food was good. The front of house was horrible though, the hostess station was not run well. We had a reservation- still had to wait 15mins for a table. And then waited at our table with no water and no greeting for at least 10minutes. It was also very dark in there, and the tea light on our table was broken. We almost left. But then our server came, and she was very nice and our food was delicious. So even though we ended up enjoying our night, we probably will not go back.
The food was good but way overpriced and the service was mediocre at best. Not what one would expect for a place with drinks in the order of $11 and up and smallish entrees in the price rage of $29 to $55. Too many other choices for me to go back or recommend to a friend.
Me and my Girlfriends 6 year anniversary
Wonderful early dinner overlooking the inner harbor in Baltimore
